Chek up day!

Today the furbabies were checked up. We try to do this once a week, but do it at least once a month. During check ups the piggies and the bunnies are weighted, their nails are shortened, ears, eyes and teeth controlled and cleaned, their hair is combed and if necessary cleaned. Loki also tends to have a gland on his back, so we drain and clean it (of course we also let our vet see him every now and then to make sure that nothing is infected).

We usually do the check up just after cleaning the piggies' enclosure, so that we have to clean the living room only once.

Introduction Nr. 3

Say hello to Sencha!

Sencha is the newest addition to the HolyWheek household as he's moved in just a few days ago and is (probably) around half a year old.

Sencha was found in July in the middle of the street and completely wet from the rain. His rescuer gave him critical care and nursed him back to health, but had to give him away once he was healthy because she couldn't take care of another pet in the long run.

Since he's a rescue and quite young, he's not neutered yet, so he has to live in the kitchen away from Chai for the next few weeks. We hope he will be able to get neutered in the next week and he'll be able to join Earl Grey (who he's already getting to know) and Chai once he's recovered.

Sencha is very playful and loves hopping around and exploring. He's very trusting and his favourite foods are broccoli and carrots. He can't wait to be able to meet both of his new bun family members.

Also, he has one normal and one lop ear and it's the cutest thing ever.

Introduction Nr. 2

This is Earl Grey.

Earl Grey (often called Early) is 4 and a half years old and his previous human described him as shy and aggressive when we got him. We were prepared for the worse and were incredibly surprised when on his first night with us Early let us pet him and would get visibly upset whenever we stopped.

He was alone for three years before we got him and he met Chai and the two are inseparable now.

Earl Grey loves being pet, cabbage leafs and Chai. Not necessarily in this order though. And he would unalive for a pea flake. He hates going to the vet and being picked up. When he's not sleeping, he can be seen munching on veggies and trying to get Chai to lick him on the head.

Introduction Nr. 1

Let's start with Chai.

Chai is one and a half and loves tangerines and getting her head scratched. She's incredibly smart and curious and is convinced that she will gain world domination some day. Until then, she plans on spending her days hopping around the living room, cuddling with Earl Grey and digging in her box.
