Estimated total population size: 398 (Critically endangered) Annual egg production: 138 a year on average

Bred for free ranging and meat production, known for being rebellious and stubborn.

The White Leghorn

Estimated total population size: Billions.

Annual egg production: 280-320 a year on average

Bred for egg production, the most productive breed in the world. This comes at the cost of their lifespan.

It makes me sad how this breed this likely functionally extinct and that the reason for that is because of the leghorns popularity. If your Italian and your interested in chickens, maybe have a look around to see if you can help?

Just want to show off the comb of the Cornuta di Caltanissetta

Gentically they have a V comb but theirs is a lot bigger then typical in some birds. The size seems to be variable.

realizing that the online sphere and especially tumblr is NOT a good sample for ‘what everyone thinks’ is so, so, so good for your mental health and moral OCD. i swear to god. realizing that you don’t have to live your actual life like you’re being hunted for sport because the average tumblr user will hunt you for sport for wording something slightly weird or engaging in the wrong stuff or whatever is so incredible. like no you’re actually not fucked up and evil for not donating or for watching that one indie cartoon or questioning a post that everybody is agreeing with. that’s just tumblrs georg making you feel that way

I think 3d prints are slop and shouldnt be at craft fairs unless they are like functional prints that you designed yourself not the mass produced snails.

Dont get me wrong I love those stim toys that are slugs and dragons ect but seeing 100s and 100s of them being sold just makes me think of the waste.

I think 3d printers are useful and cool but I dont enjoy the hyperconsumerism tied to them. Like its okay to print your own cute slug toy its another to print 100s and its not even your design which means there are other 100s identical ones out there that may or may not just be different colors.
