Hello! So i’ve read your things and answers to commonly asked questions and had something to ask and made sure it was nothing that was on there. Obviously i watched your musical on youtube absolutely amazing by the way! So me and my friend are REALLY into Homestuck and by far your like the only musical of Homestuck we know. Would it be alright if we made our own Homestuck musical? We have been thinking about it for a while and it would be cool if there were several different musicals for Homestuck! We currently agreed that if we could we would make our own script and songs and get our own stuff and set. I just wanted to ask permission for this since your the only one who’s created a musical for Homestuck. And we won’t take any songs or lines/script lines from your musical at all we just really love Homestuck and are crazy about making our own musical :3. If not that’s perfectly okay with us since you are the only person who has. So sorry for writing this so late by the way i wasn’t around for it since i didn’t know about homestuck back then but anyways have an amazing day!

we're, like. super not the only ones who have done this? there are like. at least 4 others? and even if we were, we dont own the concept, we dont own the ip, and so long as you aren't literally using the songs and script from ours it would absolutely batshit for us to say that no one else could do a fan musical of homestuck cause we did it.

hi there! cant manage to find your FAQ but this blog still seems pretty active so i wanted to ask how open you are to having another theatre put on this musical?

my family (especially my mom) is very involved in theatre, more specifically youth theatre, and i thought , with your permission/regulation/etc ofc, that maybe we would be allowed to put on a production of it? or maybe do a spin on it that doesn’t directly plagiarize everything from this version, instead more referencing certain melodies and following a similar pacing. it’s a non profit theatre, if that makes any difference (<_< ;;

i understand if that’s a big no, this def seems like a special product of its time, but i thought id shoot the question anyways ! Thanks ^_^ ) /

While we do love that even now there are people who still love the musical, our policy on recreations has not changed, and we do not want anyone to put on another production of the musical nor do we want any alterations to the work

Not exactly a question, but it's crazy to see that this blog is still (relatively) active! I've always wanted to gather a bunch of friends and see if we can do our own little ragtag production of this, but I've never had many buddies who were into Homestuck past middle school. Regardless, this project will always hold a special place in my heart!

But what with Homestuck slowly gaining relevancy out of nowhere again, who knows? Maybe it warrants a rewrite 👁👁

we still maintain our stance of really not wanting any recreations of the musical as a whole and honestly? you deserve better than to just recreate ours.

create your own, even better(its not hard), musical and have fun, dont drag the shambling corpse of our project out for another spin it'll ooze on the carpet

My chorus teacher sat everyone down to announce what the next school musical was going to be, and I was super excited because it was my senior year and I wanted it to be really really good. Then she announced it was Homestuck: the musical and I started violently sobbing.

Hi! I saw there was a question about animatics a while back, but I just wanted to make sure it was okay specifically if we did OC animatics? I most likely wouldn't even be posting it publicly, just privately, but if that's not fine I'll totally respect it! :) I both enjoy the musical as a homestuck one, but also to applying lyrics to my own funny characters.
