yeah exactly it's the disinterested laziness of it all, like I never expected any semblance of canon queer zuko but I genuinely thought the people writing avatar were beyond "a guy calling a guy attractive is funny/weird/embarrassing in a way we find so glaring that we think the gaang reacting badly is the normal response"-tier jokes

fwiw I think Korra will be fine on this front because she's famously canonically queer already so they'll try to be respectful but the Zuko gag really tells on a certain lack of grace when it comes to acknowledging general queerness
