PSA: I’m officially putting this blog back on Hiatus

Hey everyone, I think it’s pretty clear by now that I’m just to busy to be active on here. It makes me sad because I love writing with you all so much, but life comes first and right now I just don’t have the time that I want to dedicate to this blog. I hope to be back soon - maybe in a month or two but no promises. 

I’m so sorry to all my role-play partners. You’re all amazing people and excellent writers. I really have enjoyed every thread I’ve had on this account! I miss you and your muses already! 

I hope to be back soon!

Raven narrowed her eyes as Charles came walking towards her, not looking at him for the time being. Maybe she was over reacting and acting a bit like a child, but she was tired of going out with Charles only to be ignored for the majority of the night. 

“It’s fine.” She said as got the barman to get her another drink. “I’m fine here, I’ve got people to talk to.” She said without glancing towards her brother, looking at the younger men at the bar. If Charles could flirt with women then surely she was allowed to flirt with some men? “Go on…”

Charles studied her a moment, frowning. He didn't see anyone that she had to talk to.

He followed her glance to the young men across the bar and shifted nervously. "Who, them?"

His frown deepened as he took in the way their laughter filled the room and empty glasses were filling up around them. They were far too young and full of themselves to be good company - surely Raven could see that? He doubted they'd care much about her beyond the way she looked.

@ravenormystique OMG, THERE IS! I can't wait to see what they do with Charles and Raven <3! I'm wondering how this film is going to challenge Charles' world view MORE than Days of Future Past. I mean, I guess it IS Apocalypse - which screams end of the world and all that - but still... Something TERRIBLE must happen to top Charles' disillusionment in DOFP.

Charles watches Alex turn from him and head towards the stairs - a place he, now restricted to a wheelchair, can’t go. Of course, he could reach the second floor with the ramp they’d recently installed, but he’s not about to chase Alex around the mansion. He simply has to stop him before he reaches the stairs. 

“Well I wasn’t!” Charles snaps.

He instantly regrets it. It isn’t Alex’s fault that he’s in this situation. Alex isn’t responsible for the pain in his back, or his lack of sleep, or Raven’s absence. Alex is merely avoiding him. 

Charles sighs and takes a moment to compose himself. He has half a mind to let Alex go, but he knows he won’t be able to stop worrying about him until he gets some answers as to where this avoidant behavior is coming from. 

He gestures to the nearest couch in the living room. “Have a seat. Please.”

Alex stops immediately when Charles shouts behind him, his hand reaching for the handrail and he doesn’t turn immediately. He stares daggers at one of the bottom stairs and huffs, part of him wanting to continue up to his room.

He turns and stomps back to the couch, pretty much throwing himself onto it. His arms cross over his chest, making it very clear how much he  doesn’t want to be here.

“Fine,” He huffs softly again, glaring at him and it only seems to be worse since they;re just about on the same level now.

Charles adjusts his seat so that he’s directly across from Alex. He rests his hands on his knees and studies Alex for a moment. It’s obvious Alex is unhappy, but he is listening to Charles and that’s a start. 

Charles decides it’s best to proceed with caution. There’s no use in saying anything that’s going to upset Alex even more. He clears his throat and chooses his words carefully,  “Alex, I-I can’t help but notice you’ve been avoiding me lately.” 

Charles looks at him pointedly, but with concern in his eyes. “Have I done something to upset you?”

He makes a soft tsk and looks past him, glaring at the carpet he can barely see over his arm. He adjusts awkwardly in his seat, arms tight over his chest as he tries to decide if not saying anything would work.

“No.” He snaps out finally, not softening at all and just continuing to glare at the floor. “Can I go now?” He’s already moving to get up again, still not looking at Charles at all and just hoping that he’ll let him go without trying to get him to explain anymore.

“Not until you tell me what’s gotten into you.” Charles looks at him pointedly, eyes narrowing. His face hardens into a steady glare, challenging Alex to dare disobey him. 

“You’ve been in a terrible mood these past few days - avoiding responsibility, picking fights with Hank.” He waves his hands towards the kitchen dismissively. “You think I don’t notice?”

PERSON THEY CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: @ravenormystique. Well, he tried living with out her and we all know how that worked out, don’t we? PERSON WHO NEVER FAILS TO MAKE THEM SMILE: @ravenormystique (well, you know, except when she’s in a bad mood ;)) PERSON THEY FEEL SAFE TO BE VULNERABLE AROUND: Charles has a difficult time feeling vulnerable around anyone because he feels responsible for everyone, but he trusts @im-here-on-business enough to admit when he can’t handle something. PERSON THEY WANT TO IMPRESS: All the pretty girls. And @scarlxtqueen so he can guide her to use her powers for good rather than destruction.  PERSON THEY WANT TO SPEND THEIR LIFE WITH: He loves too many people to choose. That’s why he has a mansion filled with friends :P  PERSON THEY FEEL THEY NEED TO PROTECT: All the students! Especially @iwannabebanshee @plasmahulahooper @adaptedandsurvived @prxfessors-pet   literally everyone he knows.  PERSON THEY ARE AFRAID TO BE REJECTED BY: @liikkua @magnetiismus because every time Erik chooses the path of anger/vengeance it breaks his heart as he knows how much potential Erik has to be good.  PERSON THEY’D TAKE SHIT FROM & NOT MIND: Wolverine. All the Wolverines. In fact I need a Logan to write with because the DOFP Bromance they have going on is fantastic. PERSON THEY WOULDN’T HESITATE TO KILL: Charles would hesitate to kill anyone. And I mean anyone. Maybe @mutantfirst a little less than others, but it’s unlikely he’d have that opportunity.  PERSON THEY NEVER EXPECTED TO LIKE BUT NOW LOVE: That’s difficult because Charles is open to liking everyone.  PERSON THEY FEEL BETRAYED BY: Again, probably Erik.  PERSON THEY RESPECT BUT DO NOT LIKE: I’m going to go out on a limb with this one and say Deadpool. I think Deadpool would get on his nerves, but he’d have a lot of respect for him considering everything he went through.  PERSON THEY FEEL LIKE THEY HAVE FAILED: @iwannabebanshee because Charles wasn’t there for him when he needed him most.

Raven couldn’t help but glare at her brother, she knew he was still looking at the girls. “Oh I’ll drink up, shall I?” She said in a sour tone before drinking her entire glass of wine. She knew it would be a mistake because it didn’t take much for the alcohol to get to her, but she didn’t care. 

“I’ve finished, you can go and talk to your friends now.” She said with a sarcastic smile before getting up and heading towards the bar by herself.

Charles sighed. Why did Raven always have to be so dramatic? He was keeping his promise to her. He took another sip of his drink, allowing her a moment to cool down before he tried to approach her again. 

He glanced over at the women at the bar and blushed slightly when he saw they were turned towards him. He combed his hair back with his fingers and stood, intending to approach them. Then he caught sight of Raven and moved towards her instead, giving the others an apologetic smile as he passed.

“I’m sorry, Raven, but I’m not sure what I’ve done to upset you. If you’re feeling left out, I’d be happy to introduce you to... uh... these lovely ladies.”

“i fucked up, why do you not care?”

“Because, while I’d appreciate it if you’d stopped the bullet before it hit me, it’s not your responsibility to run around saving us.” 

Charles gritted his teeth as he tied his jacket around the wound. “Don’t worry, it only grazed my shoulder. I’ve had worse, believe me.”

Charles paid the bartender and passed Raven her glass of wine. He then took his own drink, a local ale, and lifted it to meet Raven’s. “Cheers.” 

He raised the glass to his lips, taking a moment to savor the first sip before he turned from the bar and returned his attention to his surroundings. Two women stood beside him, smiling and laughing as they talked. One glanced up at him with a pair of stunning blue eyes. Charles grinned at her, then, honoring his promise to Raven, turned back to his sister. “Well, let’s find a table then, shall we?”

Raven could already tell that his eyes were looking elsewhere, rolling her eyes slightly as she walked towards the nearest table, watching Charles with an annoyed expression. 

“If you want to go and talk to them, just go and talk to them.” She said, taking a large sip of her wine whilst staring down her brother. “Go on, you’re going to sooner or later so why wait?”

Charles didn’t need to read her mind to know she was annoyed. He shook his head. “Because I promised you a drink first.”

He took a seat across from her, making sure he sat so he could just barely see the women at the bar in his peripheral vision. He didn’t want Raven to think his attention was elsewhere. He took a sip of his drink, grinning. “So drink up!”

The Threat Within

Night fell over Xavier’s School for Gifted Mutants, leaving the mansion uncharacteristically quiet. Students were tucked in their beds fast asleep and teachers had retreated to their rooms to unwind with a drink or a book.  

 Charles alone was still working. He looked up from his desk, where moonlight spilt over a stack of papers and a cold mug of tea. There was no one calling his name. No one asking for help, advice, or an extension on homework. He took a moment to savor the tranquility - a moment where he could just be himself and not the leader everyone expected him to be. 

Then he sensed a presence that he hadn’t felt in years. A smile crossed his face, though it soon turned into a frown brought on by worry and confusion. Why had she come? He shut his eyes and reached out to her telepathically.

“Hello, Moira. The door is locked, I’m afraid. There’s a key below the flower box to your right - just look for a latch underneath it.”

Her hand could hardly stop shaking as she latched onto the doorknob, desperate to get it open. Thank you, She tried replying back, unsure of whether he got the message. Opening the door to the great, imposing mansion, Moira only managed to take one step in before almost collapsing on the floor, her knees giving out underneath her. 

Charles, She tries calling out once more, her right arm holding her stomach, she felt every nerve in her body on fire. I need help. I’m sorry I barged in like is but I wouldn’t have come if I didn’t think it was serious.

Charles moved from his desk to the elevator across the hall. He was just pressing the button to open it when he received her message. The pain that followed caught him by surprise. He clutched the arms of his chair until his hands drained of color. Moira’s agony was beyond the usual pain of a flesh wound or a mild fever. It was surprising she had made it as far as she had with out collapsing. 

He hurried into the elevator, fearing the severity of the situation. What is it, Moira? What happened?

“I wasn’t the one who turned it into a war.” 

Charles took a sip of his drink and leaned back in his chair, pointedly looking away from Erik. 

“They’re people too, you know. The humans. They have as much a right to live in peace as we do.”

“Not when they’re threatening our kind.” His gaze never moves from Charles, pinprick pupils burning into averted eyes. “They forfeited that right when they started rounding us up. Angel, Banshee, Azazel - experimented on, killed. I watched Emma die in front of me.” 

She’d shattered into tiny sparks in front of him; when they’d caught the light of the inferno the Sentinels were spewing he’d thought of burning magnesium, then thought of nothing else for weeks. 

Death and war come as easily to Erik as breathing. He wants to unleash some of it back on the world, on the people he holds responsible for the suffering he’s been surrounded by for years.

“Peace between mutants and humans will never exist, Charles. They struck first. Doesn’t that tell you enough?”

Charles looked away, staring at the rim of his glass. Erik’s words stung. He was right. Their friends had been tortured. Mutilated. Killed. He shut his eyes against the thought of the agony so many endured. Banshee and Angel were barely more than kids. No one should have to suffer as they did. 

When he opened his eyes, they burned with tears. How could people be so cruel? How could anyone justify such blatant disregard for another living soul?

Charles returned his gaze to Erik. This was where he was wrong - just because others are resorting to despicable measures doesn’t justify it. He shook his head. “It tells me they’re afraid. It tells me that now - more than ever - we need to show the world they have nothing to fear from us.”

It’s Never Too Late

Charles felt Sean’s fear and shut his eyes against the pain it caused him. The boy had endured more suffering than anyone should ever have to face. Mere glimpses of Sean’s past were enough to show this. The experimentation was torture. He felt the boy’s panic, his agony, and it brought tears to his eyes.  

Charles had promised to protect him and he had failed. 

Telepathically, Charles pulled away as much as he could without severing the link. It’s alright, Sean. I won’t hurt you. He winced at his words, knowing they were coming too late. He hadn’t been there when it really counted - when he could have prevented what had been done to him. Now he could only try to mend the damage. It’s me. Charles Xavier. I just want to talk to you.

All he could think of were the experiments. The delirium and hallucinations that had sometimes ensued, other times when people had been forced to use their mutations on others. Tricks and tests and everything that had left him in such a state, such torture as he never wanted to think of ever again, of the times he’d spent curled in the corner of a stone cold cell.

He had been so alone.

“You’re just another trick…” he wept quietly to himself, crawling back onto the sofa and pulling a thin blanket over his shaking form. It was his mind, his mind playing tricks on him once again, a strange dream of some kind, “Just another hallucination…”

Charles watched the awful memories continue to unfold in Sean’s mind. He wanted to stop them, to save the boy from torment by blocking them out, but he knew better than to mess with someone’s mind in such a way. Sean would have to overcome them himself. But he wouldn’t have to do it alone. 

He lifted his hand to the side of his head and rested his fingers against his temple as he often did when concentrating on his abilities. Calming Sean enough to show him the truth without becoming too invasive was tricky, but Charles reckoned he could do it if he proceeded with caution. 

I can assure you, I’m real, Sean. I’m here. He sent Sean a short flicker of memories from the early days of the school, when Sean was first learning how to use his powers. With them, he sent the emotions they evoked - joy, pride, hope. It was a different world back then, but it was a world they both shared. And it wasn’t entirely destroyed. Now will you please let me in?

1. If you had to change your character’s FC for one day, who would you pick? This is so hard because McAvoy is so attractive perfect as Charles. Patrick Stewart is also amazing, but I feel like that’s a cop out. So I’m going to go with fem!Charles to mix things up and say Jenna Coleman (I know she wouldn’t be perfect, but she’s the first I thought of!).

3. What’s something you like about how you write? That’s such a hard question! My favorite thing about writing is coming up with ideas. Does that count? I can come up with really good ideas. I can also come up with really bad ideas. Anyone who plots with me will learn this soon enough (it’s your job to tell me which are which! :P)  

6. What’s something about your character that you wouldn’t like if you had to spend time with them? Answered

23. What’s your take on AUs? I love AU’s! I tend to stay away from them when I’m just starting out with a character (or just coming back from a hiatus, like now) because there’s so much canon (or semi-canon) development to be done and storylines to explore… but in general, creative AU’s can be really fun and offer a TON of new material for writing/plotting. 

59. What/Who is a character you think you would like to roleplay? What’s currently stopping you from roleplaying them? I think it would be fun to play Kitty (from the comics) or Regina from OUAT or Yang from RWBY.  But I can’t role play more than one character at once (I have such little time for tumblr as it is!) and I’m having too much fun with Charles right now to switch soon.
