How Would TWST be as Yanderes? - Savannaclaw
Warnings: Financial abuse, unconsensual touching(?), MDNI
I have no idea why Leona's turned out so long, nor why Ruggie is so difficult to write, but whatever we ball. Characters with ✩stars by their names are written purely platonically, and characters with ♡hearts can be platonic or romantic. Word Count ~1k, and onto the yanderes!
♡ Leona Kingscholar- Possessive and Self Aware.
It snuck up on him, how much Leona found himself liking you. Your quiet strength, your patience, the way you saw the depth hidden within his faux apathy.. it caught him off guard. You caught him off guard. And far sooner than he'd like to admit, your presence became something he missed and craved; a spot in his life he'd begun leaving space for. But, in spite of the warmth and cautious tenderness sprouting inside the prince's heart, Leona's not stupid.
He knows you don't belong here. Knows that as soon as the opportunity is presented, you'll tuck tail and run straight back home, leaving him and everyone else behind to try and navigate a world forever changed by the few short months they had you in it. He knows you deserve it, too- to go home. You've earned it, really, after all you've done for those around you. But at the same time,
Knowing others so intimately, healing wounds once thought to be permanent, you've made yourself indispensable without even realizing it. And for once in his life, Leona will not let what he wants be taken from him.
Gradually, bills begin piling up. Food for Grim, repairs around Ramshackle, little things just outside the meager allowance oh so kindly bestowed upon you by Crowley each week. At first it's not a big deal, you'd been planning on getting a part time job for a little while anyways, so you just figure you'll have a bit less spending money than you'd hoped- except no one will hire you. Everywhere you go, it's the same story: no id, no job. Even the shady places you're almost positive are some sort of mob front shoo you away, pushing you out the door with a feeble excuse and a nervous glance. You begin to panic, rapidly running out of supplies and backed into a corner, until one day,
You're shocked, but immensely grateful the first time he pays for your groceries, waving off your thankful sputtering like it was no big deal. It happens again the next week, and the week after that, each time Leona helping you out with just a little bit more. Before you know it, you're relying on him completely, wracking up a silent debt and stuck in a legal purgatory where you don't exist enough on paper to have any way of paying him back. Until, once again,
This time, he hands you a small square of a plastic like material. 'Sunset Savanna - Permanent Resident Identification Card' sits at the top in bold letters you're barely literate enough to read. You don't realize it at first, too thankful for the little square of security to question the implications, but the power dynamic between you has officially shifted. You're formally one of his, now, at least while you're in Twisted Wonderland; and if the bird actually manages to find a way to send you back? Well, he's got a few shiny madol and some choice words to get him to change his mind.
♡ Ruggie Bucchi- Manipulative and self aware? (Not really sure what category this falls into).
It was a slow process, getting to know him. Ruggie doesn't trust easily, having learned from experience that most displays of good will always came with a catch, an expectation of receiving something in return that he may not be able to give- so neither of you are quite sure when it happened. Somewhere along the line, his teasing lost it's sharp edge when he was with you, the purpose of his jokes became to simply make you laugh instead of a way to subtly sniff out your intentions, and you fell into a nice rhythm of mutual respect and a friendship without expectations.
Maybe it had something to do with the relaxed atmosphere free from projection you'd created, but you steadily found yourself being more clumsy around him. A trip here, an accidental bump of the shoulder there- nothing overly dangerous, and he was luckily always there to catch you, but it was frequent enough to be noticeable. Then again, maybe your unrefined behavior was secretly a reflection of your own self conscience; a strange magnetic pull you couldn't quite place having often accompanied your mishaps, urging you closer to him.
Like Leona, Ruggie's not dumb. He sees the way some people treat you, people a hell of a lot stronger and more powerful than he is, recognizing all their little acts of courtship you'd have no way of knowing about. He knows that if he doesn't play his cards right, one of them is bound to catch on to him and take you away forever, so for now he bides his time; appeasing the more restless parts of his soul with the sparse contact forced with his magic, waiting patiently for a window to open up for him to push the boundaries just a bit further. Is it wrong? Sure, of course it is, but this is Twisted Wonderland, and you don't get anything you want if you're not willing to play a little dirty.
✩ Jack Howl- Overprotective.
Jack respects you, significantly so. Like Deuce, he looks up to you in many regards, but you also make him nervous. For every act of genuine kindness, every helping hand extended or undeserved forgiveness given, you teeter on the edge of your own undoing, danger seemingly following you at every turn.
He begins to linger. You're strong, he knows that, but you don't know this world like he does, and sevens be damned if he were to just sit back and do nothing while you got yourself into a situation you couldn't get out of. He's there to back you up, whenever there's a fight; warning you before and after the fact not to get involved with certain people- just the more unsavory groups at first, but steadily evolving until you're barred from speaking to half the school.
"Pack mates look out for each other," is what he tells you, and he full heartedly believes that's all there is to it. You've stuck your neck out for him before, so it's only right he does the same, even if you can't see it that way.
