The eldest of two daughters, born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.
Inspired by her father - a nonfiction writer - to get into journalism. Was on the high school newspaper.- The Warrior. Also served on Student Council, the yearbook committee, prom committee, and was salutatorian. She isn’t bitter about second place, she swears.
Worked her way through college, earning a bachelors in Journalism. Stayed in Michigan for a time, working at a local paper, until her father’s illness summoned her home.
Moved back into her parent’s home for the duration of her father’s illness, helping organize bills, treatment and any physically demanding tasks her mother couldn’t manage. Learning about the disastrous healthcare system while her father was ill inspired an ire that has never faded.
Afterward, Honey technically lived with her mother, but the house was "sold” to Honey on paper. All the while, working her way up the ranks of a local network affiliate news channel.
While she won several awards for her investigative journalism, Honey was often hated and scorned by local business owners and sponsors of the news program. She came close to being fired a number of times for not picking her battles in a more capitalist-friendly manner.
Was working on a story in Florida when the outbreak kicked off. Tried to get back to Atlanta but it took too long. Her mother had gone, her sister and fiance nowhere to be found. Since then, she wandered; hoping to find anyone familiar.
