Different types of social discriminations (racism, sexism, homophobia...) often come from people who are uneducated and who are unsatisfied with their own lives. They pick and hold on to something they can hate, anything that can possibly give them the illusion of "being better" than the other person. There are bright, intelligent, kind, open-minded people with warm hearts and there are those whose bitter feelings/backgrounds/traumas have twisted their natures. These latter ones lost some of their essential human abilities and they became people without real humanity. However, we are all different, good, bad, caring, hateful, intelligent, uneducated, bitter and sweet, REGARDLESS to colour, gender, nationality! Hatred only brings further hate, pain and anger and if we keep reacting with hate to those people and things that are different/unknown/strange/unique, then this world will never become one whole.
I forward a message of my favourite James Baldwin:
"The reason people think it’s important to be white is that they think it’s important not to be black."
P. S. : Stay open minded and choose love and kindness. Can't go wrong with that.
