this is probably not surprising in the least BUT i have been sincerely so unmotivated and depressed for the past two weeks .. that it’s legitmately hard for me to get online and do things that i WANT to do?? and i genuinely just don’t feel like that’s fair for the group here, because everybody is so stunningly active with every single one of their characters and i can barely get to like. three responses in the width of a day. so, i think i might have to just drop this roleplay for the time being. i’ll be sending a message in through the main but i wanted to let everybody know. i hate to leave but this roleplay has definitely been a fantastic experience for me. i truly feel like the admins have breathed a new life into tumblr rp that i wasn’t sure still existed and that’s an INCREDIBLE feat. i am so proud, and so sincerely glad to see how far all of this has come and i appreciate everything everybody has done to make this roleplay an exciting, interesting world to develop characters within. i love all of your characters SO much and will genuinely probably miss seeing them KSJFK but for now, i love you all lots!!! and i’ll catch ya on the flip flop!

nicole didn’t want to be back at the campus. she’d wished she had just stayed in the warehouse, that seemed as if it were a better fate than anything else but there she was, waltzing back into what could only be the inner circle of hell. of course, she was dragged out of her melancholic thoughts by the sound of someone else’s voice, her eyes glancing over to only see the face of a person she’d only vaguely remembered; she probably had seen them around audax as well as campus. regardless, she wasn’t about to just leave them. “oh, yea,” she hummed, moving over to sit down on the bench with them. she reached over and clasped their hand, her eyes looking ahead at the rather quiet campus. even though everyone was still making their way back, the silence was deafening, not like any other off-campus party she’d seen. she looked back over to the person beside her, unsure of what really to do. “do you live in audax? i can walk with you to your dorm, but it’s super late and you should try to get some sleep.”

the subtlest intimacy was a far cry from any previous expectation, and honey’s glad for the other girl’s presence. they tried not to fall into it fully, managing the beginnings of an awkward smile. briefly, they meet nicole’s eyes. “i’m EXHAUSTED.” being back in their bed sounded like a dream, but their feet hadn’t wanted to make that journey. “hopeless, though. i have fallen over like too many times to count trying to get over to this bench. my feet feel dead.” they wiggled their toes, and noted a real scrape on their knee. “everything sucks. were you --” they motioned oddly in her direction with their free hand, but it didn’t get anything across. “were you at the party?”

Rosie always enjoyed this time of day, when there seemed to be no one around. She hadn’t exactly been able to sleep yet, instead tossing and turning in her bed until she had finally had enough and decided to go for a walk instead, the pounding in her head now nothing more than a dull thud. Though torn away from her conflicting thoughts when she heard a voice behind her and turning around to see Honey collapsing on the bench, her brown hues widening in shock as she rushed over to them, kneeling down beside them. “Holy shit.” She gasped out, not sure what to do in a situation like this. “Are- did you take anything or something?” She managed to croak out, trying to examine the girl for any wounds or something else terrible.

“or something.” honey hiccuped, “m’uh, fine.” it’s meant to be reassuring, but sounds closer to uncertain. a missing phone, a stolen kiss, and a tab on her tongue had lead to an experience that she wouldn’t wish to relive. fragile fingers push back rosie’s worry, a little smile slipping onto her lips. “just a lil’ scraped up. i fell like .. twelve times until i remembered i could take off -” there’s something between a hiccup and a laugh, cheeks flushing in embarrassment. “take off my shoes, ya know?” they sniffle, makeup smudging as they wipe at their eyes. “i may have gotten like super lost, because you see - i lost my phone. i KNOW, who even does that? but i did! and, i couldn’t get an uber for like two hours. so!” they huff, exhausted with themselves. “sorry for worrying you. i’m just very overwhelmed!”

scene ripped straight from their costumes source, bloody and bedraggled. limbs move as if piloting a foreign vessel, weights worth of cocktails sloshing violently in her stomach. there’s uncertainty whether their lack of balance, their impending nausea or their overbearing exhaustion would take lead as they stumbled their way back to audax, boots cinched between her fingers and lips smeared with a kiss. “fuck.” dizzied, they collapse onto a bench, emotions besting them as they immediately start to sob. tonight had been an uncharacteristic string of mistakes, the dull throbbing in her head sprinting to a full panic as they hear footsteps. the morning’s light has barely settled, and honey looks blearily to the trespassing presence. they noted a familiarity in the other’s face, voice cracking as lips issue the question. “can you .. sit with me?”

the hug is the best thing that’s happened this night, possibly. indira all too happily soaks in honey’s presence, hugging them TIGHTLY in return, and hooking her head onto their shoulder, before releasing them. “you’re the only one who put this much EFFORT in. some people just went in a cheerleader outfit and called it a day. i mean, not that i can judge. i just wore lingerie, with fake blood, and a mask, and called it a day.” she laughed. honey deserved CREDIT though. they’d worked hard and it really did pay off. “yeah? anything good? because my flask isn’t filled with ANYTHING good. i kinda was in a rush before leaving and just mixed a bunch of hard liquors i found together.” indira admitted. she’d only taken a few sips from the flask herself, and it had gotten her a bit TOO FUCKED UP. plus it tasted like SHIT. but then honey rested their head on indira’s shoulder, and it didn’t really matter anymore. “you’ve been having all this fun without me. i’m HURT.” she teased, playfully reaching down to yank a strand of honey’s hair.

“how much fun can someone really have WITHOUT you?” they felt fuzzy - as if static had ballooned in the pit of their stomach, and their heart had been jostled like an etch-a-sketch. butterflies were too mundane to explain the feeling away, makeup caked on thick enough to hide the red of their cheeks. “orange juice, vodka and grenadine has been my go-to choice of the night. has a tangy lil’ kick to it.” they raised the flask to their lips as a test, before they were handing it back off with a pinch of their lips. “you really weren’t kidding.” they laugh, this time softer. “other than missing me, what have you been up to?” they inquired, a smirk settling at the corner of their lips. if not for a few cups of liquid courage, they may have foregone touching indira completely - but there’s no complaints, so they continue to cling. “i’ve just been mingling. making friends, that sorta thing.”

But in a friendly manner , because he looked embarrassed to be there and I surely had the better costume. I was motherfucking Superboy but like , the hot punk version , and the Minion , well he was just a minion , so. ❞

“The minions are WRETCHED creatures. I feel like they were birthed from the fires of hell and unleashed onto the world to become the wine mom’s collective mascot.” Honey decided not to take another sip of her current abomination, making a mental note to drink something else. All things were a game of a trial and error, but a part of them hoped that the bar had orange juice. “Jon Kent?” They inquired enthusiastically, leaning forward on their heels. “That is ALOT better than a minion. Was the minion like a full costume, or was it like - one of those where they paint themselves yellow? Better yet, was the boyfriend flirting with you too? Cause’ I couldn’t blame him.”

“you know… i’m pretty happy i got this jean jacket for pretty cheap from the thrift store… i have a feeling that this fake blood is never going to come out…” she murmured softly, a small chuckle escaping her lips. “but i needed it to complete the whole look.” she took another sip of her drink, slightly feeling the effects of the alcohol she was convinced to add. 

there’s a brief gesture down to their full ensemble, everything from the white coat rested on her shoulders to edges of her ankles drenched in fake blood. “well, i think i’d know a little something about that.” they giggled softly, “sidney prescott? it looks GOOD.”

“lucky guess.” he tossed back with a lopsided shrug and an easy grin. “partner in crime, for sure. she is the mrs. purge to my mr. purge.” he explained, gesturing to his costume with a proud smile. “brad?” he scoffed, shaking his head dramatically. “no fucking way. that sounds like a white, american dad barbecuing pork chops in his backyard.” he accents his words with an overly twangy american accent, positively offended at the association. “je m’appelle bastian.”

honey hid a laugh behind their hand, writing off bastian’s initial disgust with a shake of their head. “okay, DORK.” their own accent sat on the precipice of creole, thick with a childhood speaking french fully within the home. “pardon, je ne voulais pas vous importuner.” though they hadn’t known that connotation, they could admit that BASTIAN was a much better name. “j’aime ton nom.”

                  He quickly took note of their makeup , his eye for images and art GREATLY appreciating the makeup. He briefly considered being a makeup artist when he was first entering college , but the dream of being a concept artist was too strong. But with COSTUME , perhaps he was using the skills in both places. ❝ I NEVER go simple with costumes , Honey. Every year it’s go big or just stay the fuck home because you’re not gonna be goin’ anywhere. ❞ He laughed , pushing his mask a little more to the side. ❝ I’ve been debating going around and just muttering ‘ You shouldn’t have done that ’ at random people but that’s gonna get me punched. ❞   

                    Made him think of a few Halloween parties he went to before - having gotten into a fight at maybe one or two. And tilting his head , taking in Honey’s comment about the holiday , he nodded. ❝ So yeah. And if I DO get punched it’s going to feel like it’s Halloween even more , because back in Salem I once threw hands with a dude in a minion costume. Good times. ❞

“You ...” They’re trying not to think about the implications of that, liquid sloshing around the rim of their solo cup. It’s hard not to laugh at the image of Cyrus being gut-punched by a Minion, the humor of the situation outweighing any logic. “What did you do? Kiss the Minion’s girlfriend?” They peer up from behind their own contacts, baby blue and shockingly bright. “Or was it more of a fight or flight response? Did you scare the Minion? Was the Minion your nemesis?” Another sip of their drink, nose scrunched. “What were you, anyway? Surely it wasn’t THIS elaborate?”

“whatever you want, darling.” he manages to get out, he thinks, quite clearly. “…do i know you?” he adds after a moments thought, features twisting into an expression of severe concentration. a few seconds later, he’s turning to the bartender, ordering four shots of patron. he turns back to them with a wide grin. “wait, what’s your name?”

“it’s honey.” they tack on, a sparse giggle pulled from their lips. “darling was close.” they know it wasn’t meant to be, “barely, though. you match indira though, you’re her uh - partner?” a shake of her head, “not in THAT way, i know. but like, generally? like an uh, partner in debauchery.” a hum as they try to remember his name, “you’re like -- brad?”

“hey!” indira said, brightly, waving to honey. the way indira LIT UP upon seeing honey was neither here nor there. she was a little tipsy, and on her way to WASTED, but not there quite yet. “the jennifer check outfit TOTALLY works. and look, don’t say i said anything, but you’re definitely the BEST jennifer check here.” indira said, with a swift, mischievous wink towards them. “you drinking? actually, don’t answer that. you’re drinking.” she decided for honey, already reaching behind herself to pull out her flask of vodka and cranberry juice - it was good for vagina’s, sue her - “when did you get here, i didn’t see you before.” not that indira was looking out. nope. not at all. maybe? a little? nope. she wasn’t. honey was a FRIEND. a NEW friend that indira should NOT be hitting on. only stupid boys deserved to be hit on so shamelessly by indira, because they didn’t MATTER. honey DID matter.

neither willing to admit they’d been looking for the other, but both girls far too eager to explain that away. honey stumbles forward, capturing indira in a half-assed hug, squishing against her side with her arms curled tightly around her middle. “mm, thank you! i’d like to think that’s what everybody else thinks, too. i’m pretty certain i’m the only one that did this outfit.” not that they could blame anybody else for taking an easier route, the work HAD been tedious at best. barely given a chance to reply, they took the offered flask with a small smile. “i’ve had a drink or two, already.”  though there’s a certainity that two would become ten if control’s handed off to indira. a little laugh, forehead resting against her shoulder. “mm, i don’t know when i got here. couldn’t been too long, but i haven’t really been keeping track.”

bas swiped a stray curl away from his eyes as he downed the remnants of his drink with a clink of ice and a short gasp. he’d been steadily drinking all night, interspersing his rum and cokes with lines in the bathroom and pretty little pills that would distract him from the clusterfuck of the past 24 hours. “hey!” he hurled the word at a familiar face approaching him, eyes wide and teeth glinting in the flashing lights. “let’s do shots.” 

words hit sharply, lashes fluttering as they search for their senses. they’re not nearly as far gone as bastian, but they had gone a little further off the path than expected. the taste was bitter, throat burning with the lack of any real hydration. a shrug of their shoulders - what the hell! letting loose was a craving sated. “okie dokie!” they couldn’t remember the guy’s name, only knew his face from introductions made by indira. something with an e, they think. or a z. maybe an l? ah, it doesn’t matter. “of what?”

                He had a reputation as a party boy ; these things were supposed to be his calling. And while it was more often than not for the sake of keeping up the act , THIS TIME AROUND , he took some … creative liberty. Putting more effort into his costume than one would think : green elven hoodie , a painted mask that looked like the statue , expensive red sclera + red iris contacts topped with drippy black makeup streaming from the eyes and the mouth … Yeah , he went ALL OUT.

                Leaning onto a wall and turning to another close by , he figured he might make conversation. ❝ How’s it goin ?? ❞ He asked , moving the mask from his face to rest on the side of his hood , revealing the grinning face underneath. ❝ Whatcha think ?? Freaky , huh ?? ❞   

     Celebration wasn’t within Honey’s wheelhouse - college parties even less so, but the theme of the night had piqued their short attention span, and left them bathed in fake blood. It was a damned near perfect rendition of the outfit, save for a few creative liberties to make it pop. The rave offered a lack of control, a chance to let the night take it’s own turns. For someone that kept a consistent schedule, that in itself was terrifying. Honey tried to make the most of it, stepping outside of themselves to embrace the culture of shitty cocktails and deafening music.              Intrigue sparked with the boy’s question, a bright grin spilling over her lips. It looked menacing underneath the makeup, as if they were just waiting to unhinge their jaw and snap Cyrus’ neck in their jaws. Exactly as intended. “Damn, you really went all out! I love the whole -” They pointed to their eyes, “The eyes. Looks sick! Ya know, in the .. good way. I don’t get why there’s a good connotation to that. Do you know the origins? I feel like it’s out of place.” A wave of their hand, “Doesn’t matter. Looks sick.” They took a little sip of their grenadine infused vodka - it wasn’t good, not by a long shot. But they would pretend. “It feels like it’s Halloween!”
