Okay okay okay so I was rereading The Wicked King and I came upon the scene with Jude and Cardan and room behind the throne, henceforth to be referred to as "thee scene"

So as Cardan is asking Jude how should he seduce Nicasia I think that at some point he's not talking about Nicasia but he started talking about Jude. I mean let's look at the scene

So like here is where I think Cardan makes the switch. I believe that when he realizes the effect he was having on her that he stops talking about Nicasia and switches to asking Jude is this is what it would take to seduce her and it works

In my opinion, being fae is a master of misdirection speak, as in saying one thing meaning another without lying. So he in his mind switched from one and is still making a truth statement because he's asking a question he wants to know, he's just speaking about her in third person.

I think that also explains this scene

I feel like Cardan knew that he would never get her to say that she loves him but her saying that she hates him is the next best thing and which is why he kissed her harder because in his world it's the equivalent.

Jude on the other hand being human and used to every one around her speaking the truth, she most times doesn't stop to interpret the deeper meanings to things or take body language into account because even here

Like him saying this is a terrible idea she thinks that its because "they hate each other" but I think it's because he's afraid to fall deeper. And the "I want to tell you so many lies" I feel like he wanted to lie and say he doesn't love her because he believes that she doesn't feel anything for him.

I just love soooo much when you start reading a GOOD fantasy book and while you go through your daily life you just keep thinking about the characters, the plot, the relationships until you can go back to reading it in the evening again. nothing else feels like this, it’s just so good cause it kinda makes you feel like there is a second life waiting for you.

evajacks tension is sooo insane. wdym jacks saw blood on evangelines lips and decided to clean it off with his tongue of all things. he couldve easily handed her a tissue - or really anything to wipe the blood off, but no, this man full on leaned into her face and dragged his tongue up across the center of her lips. not to mention softly and slowly like how evangeline described it. and holding evangelines head in place so she wouldnt lean in as much as he knew how much she wanted to???
