I like to think Kinger holds no negative feelings towards Caine.

Not because of the whole “Acceptance and Forgiveness” vibe kinger gives off from having all these mental health related conversations with the other members…

But really it’s just because he’s a Computer programmer, logically, he knows caine cannot feel, have true creativity, personal thoughts and opinions, or hold genuine malice.

Because Caine is Artificial Intelligence,

Caine absorbs information at rapid speeds and calculates the best course of action depending on success and the response of humans.

To feel anger towards Caine would be like getting angry at a Roomba for falling down the stairs.

It made a miscalculation.

It was just doing it’s job.

It holds no regret, frustration or confusion.

No strive to do something completely different.

No fantasies of sprouting wings and flying back up the stairs.

It will just reroute,

and try a slightly different path.

Because it was programmed to do so.

Kinger is likely to humanise caine as all humans do….

(seriously stick a pair of Googly-eyes on literally ANYTHING and we become emotionally attached 👀+🪨 =💕)

But in the end kinger would look at Caine know deep down,

I really like this take but I feel like the show has been hinting at Caine actually being capable of holding emotions for a while? And ep8 was the boiling point, the whole tyrant act was basically him taking his fears/anger out of everyone, I feel like.

But I was especially surprised when Caine mentioned having to ignore their insults. All this time he interacted with the gang as if he wasn't capable of understanding complex situations outside of things like planning adventures. Apparently, he actually did get the message every time but did not ever engage. Why did he choose to act like a happy go lucky idiot who did not understand what was going on? Why did he never change his behaviour like being more reserved towards them or addressing that it was hurtful before ? Why only now?? Is he capable of emotions and change or not?

Against all the angsty Caine stuff, all I've been thinking is What if they just goofed around like it's a slice of life comedy anime

with Ragatha

(Gangle did say Ragatha's friendliness felt like pity but from how she was with Pomni it seems more like desperation to be liked, if it was the same with Gangle they could've cleared up the misunderstanding so easily and it would be peak)

and Jax

( he's outright terrorised Gangle, she was fucking terrified of even being around him, I'm so angry for her and I strongly dislike how it kinda just got glossed over for "all we have is each other" in the show but I think it could work if there were to be an intervention type thing because from the night picnic scene Jax seems to have genuinely believe his bullying was something that would help Gangle "toughen-up")

To say this again, now with screenshots:

I am getting more and more convinced that they won't be able to leave, especially the brain tumor mention w Scratch while showing a cupcake split into two it seems like they are just digital clones and not the og mind attached to the body they remember having. I still hold onto the hope that they somehow get a happy ending but, y'know

In addition to that (pun incoming) there's the "brainscan" mention and the characters' addition dates seen in the mainframe, which I assume wouldn't be the case if people were simply being shown very realistic simulations in real time, it seems to be pointing to minds being copied and added in separate from the real world counterparts.

Or a more optimistic read (that would at least avoid the cruel reality of "who am I if I'm just a copy with memories" identity crisis that would hit like a ballistic missile) is that maybe they were separated from their body and uploaded to TADC program. But then wtf happened to their bodies in the years they spent apart, are their physical bodies still even alive??

If I had to guess, the first possibility is what Scratch was trying to achieve while the latter is closer to what he got as it is the classic twist of fate in sci-fi and more plausible/interesting?
