This is really annoying ‘cause I just want to post all my GIF’s at once. Merp.
I'm upset because I have to book an MRI for Lily, because everything we have tried for her year long mystery lameness hasn't worked - she will get better, and then get cleared to be started gently back into work, and then relapse. At first it seemed to be a muscle tear, so she was prescribed lots of time off to heal, but the further along we go the more it seems to be something else.
We did an x ray 2 months ago and her navicular bone was parallel to her sole, so she got shoes with wedges, and that seemed to help a lot. She stayed sound through the walk/trot for a month, we worked on big and gentle movements getting some relaxation through the bend, when we tried a couple big circles of lope and she went dead lame.
Brought her back to the vet today and while the vet does think she looks better than the last 2 times she has been in, she is still presenting as sound after rest, and unsound after work (even without a rider on her back), so we have narrowed down the problem area to her lower left front foot, and at this point we need to do the MRI to figure out whats going on.
and on top of that Rose went lame a couple weeks ago, she had had a pull back incident (apparently she will no longer wear fly masks, so I think her moon blindness might have progressed) and also had to be separated from a paddock mate because they were getting too rough with each other, so I chalked it up to that. She got a week off, bodywork, and another massage today, which I thought would sort the issue, but it didn't and now she has been lame for 2 weeks so I might have to haul her in with Lily when Lily goes for the MRI.
I'm very stressed and worried. I just want my girls to be sound and comfortable, and also this is shaping up to be a very expensive summer
