                                       The angel had honestly lost track of time since his rather unplanned venture to National City, but it hadn’t been a bad experience. He’d learned a lot in the short time he’d been there, about Kara and her team, as well as what they did on a daily basis. Castiel had even joined a time or two, though he was careful. Enemies they dealt with where nothing like the demons and various monsters he faced in his own universe. Instead, he chose to offer aid when the others needed it, acting more on the medical side of things. Angel grace did have its uses in their world after all. Much faster healing, for one.

                                      “ Everything going okay, Kara. It seems to have been rather quiet the last day or so. ”

She couldn’t say for sure whether or not things were entirely okay. It was odd for things to be so quiet, but it was certainly a nice change of pace. ❝ To tell you the truth, I am not entirely sure. Things are never this quiet. The D.E.O. hasn’t picked up on any chatter or signs that someone is planning anything... ❞ She responded, trailing off slightly in thought. There had been a sense of uneasiness that had settled over her the past few days, and she couldn’t quite explain why. Kara’s gaze briefly flickered away from Castiel, who had proven himself to be a major help in more ways than one. She wanted to be able to help him find a way back to his own Earth, but she couldn't help but enjoy his presence. He had honestly opened her eyes to a few things, and she felt as though she had learned a thing or two from him. ❝ Even still, I can’t shake this feeling that we are missing something. That this momentary peace won’t last long and I am worried about the people of National City. ❞ She admitted.

oliver   doesn’t   often   wonder   the   streets,   mostly   because   he   had   expensive   cars   and   limos   for   taking   him   around,   or   an   airplane   if   he   was   feeling   particular.   but   even   then,   walking   around,   everyone   knows   who   he   is.   that’s   oliver   freakin’   queen.      however,   oliver   knows   very   well   when   he   feels   a   strength   at   his   shoulder,   that   practically   knocks   him   off   his   feet.   if   he   didn’t   know   any   better,   he’d   think   clark   kent   had   just   punched   his   shoulder.   but   instead,   it’s   someone   else,   and   it   has   oliver   turning   his   head   in   confusion,   and   intrigued.   he’s   pretty   sure   there   might   be   an   inkling   of   a   bruise   tomorrow,   but   he’s   not   worried   about   it.   ’   it’s   all   good.   you   uh,   sure   pack   a   shoulder   punch   there.   been   hitting   the   gym   ?   ’   oliver   laughs   softly,   adjusting   his   shoulder.

  honestly,   she   looked   like   someone   else   that   oliver   really   didn’t   know,   but   had   heard   bits   and   pieces   about   from   clark.   last   he   heard   though   she   had   gone   off   planet,   and   had   been   for   a   while.   a   hand   moves   to   outstretch   in   a   handshake.   ’   oliver   queen.      are   you   alright   though,   you   look   pretty   lost.   ’  

Awkward laughter left her lips, her features scrunching slightly as she nodded her head in agreeance. ❝ Right, yeah, I’ve been hitting the gym. Gotta get the muscles and cardio in. ❞ She stated, her words accompanied by more laughter. It was moments like this that always put her on guard, moments where her awkward nature shone through as she could only hope that she was being believable. Even though he looked oddly familiar to her in a way she could not explain, she needed to keep the truth hidden. Handshakes were something that she still hadn’t mastered, her strength always coming through when she did her best not to squeeze someone’s hand too hard. Even still, she knew it wasn’t polite to not accept the handshake, and so she gripped onto his hand shaking it. ❝ Oh yes, I’m fine. ❞ She remarked, offering him a slightly reassuring smile. 

❝ I am a bit lost, I’m new to the city. ❞ She remarked, pausing briefly to think up of a reason as to why she would be lost. ❝ I was just looking for a good coffee shop. ❞ She added, which was the furthest thing from the truth. She was not here on vacation or searching for a coffee shop. Rather, she was searching for a way to get back to National City, to figure out how she ended up here of all places.

     alessa   doesn’t   know   much   about   her   past,   as   much   as   she’d   like   to   know,   but   she   does   remember   that   day   to   the   last   detail.   she   tries   to   think   about   it,   to   try   and   remember   anything   before   it,   anything   at   all   to   give   her   a   clue   of   what   her   past   and   her   history   was.   but   it   seemed   anything   before   that,   was   blank.   the   only   other   thing   she   had   from   that   day,   that   her   family   knew   about,   were   the   clothes   she   had,   and   the   small   little   ship   figurine,   that   honestly   looked   like   it   could   be   a   hot   wheels   car   or   something.   alessa   isn’t   used   to   being   singled   out,   after   all   shes   just   a   cog   in   a   machine   at   her   job,   and   when   she   was   done,   she’d   go   home   and   repeat.   this   was   weird.   eyes   raise   and   she   gives   a   brief   nod   of   her   head.   she   looked   a   little   more   surprised   when   the   woman   before   her   told   her   she   was   from   a   news   company,   from   a   completely   different   city.

  her   family   had   told   her   how   she   had   been   all   over   the   news   when   she   was   a   kid,   and   you   could   still   find   some   of   the   older   reports,   but   alessa   had   just   hoped   that   no   one   would   bring   it   back   up,   or   this   exact   situation.   hands   quickly   move   to   pile   up   a   few   of   the   papers   she   was   working   on.   ’   i’m   pretty   sure   you   could   find   an   article   from   when   it   happened.   i   don’t   remember   much.   ’   it   was   a   lie,   she   could   recount   the   details   from   the   park,   the   wondering   around   like   quite   literally,   a   lost   child,   to   being   placed   with   her   family.   ’   i’m   sorry,   really.   ’  

Kara listened to her carefully, studying her with azure orbs filled with hues of suspicion. There was something about her body language upon hearing why she was here that made the Kryptonian question the validity of her statement. Of course, the inflections she spoke did not betray her as lying even to her trained ears. Nevertheless, she went into reporter mode, deciding to press her just a little.  ❝ So you remember nothing at all? I’ve read the report, so I know you were wandering around with some kind of trinket? ❞ She posed the statement as a question, one that was meant to lead her to some extent. There was part of her that felt there was more to this story than just some small girl wandering in a park alone. After all, she had come to this Earth in a strange manner, and had it not been for Kal-El she would have more than likely never ended up with the Danvers. 

❝ I read one of the articles, and I know that you were eventually adopted. Can you tell me anything, perhaps about your family that adopted you? ❞ She questioned, once more pressing her for answers that she felt were there somewhere.

❝ Lena, what do you say we have a girls’ night tonight? Just the two of us! ❞ She inquired, as she waltzed into her office, a wide grin of excitement spreading across her features. She was on her lunch break from CatCo, and thankfully hadn’t been called into the D.E.O., so she assumed it would be the perfect opportunity to visit the Luthor. ❝ Winn and James are busy for the next few nights, so we canceled game night for the entire week. Which leaves plenty of time for the two of us to spend time together. ❞ She remarked with another grin accompanying her words, freely walking closer to her desk. She knew she should have given her a heads up prior to her arrival to ensure she wasn’t in the middle of a meeting. But, the thing about having superhearing was that she was able to figure that out upon her arrival.

Being in a strange city was not something that made Kara confused or nervous, for she knew she was still on Earth. Though, the name of the city she had yet to ascertain. However, that didn’t necessarily matter to her at that moment in time. What mattered to her, was the fact that she nearly took a man off his feet when her shoulder had bumped into him. It was easy to forget her own strength when she was lost in her own thoughts. It wasn’t until she turned to look at him she realized that she more or less recognized him. ❝ Oh my Rao! ❞ She whispered before a hand reached out to gently brush his shoulder to ensure that he was okay. ❝ Are you alright? I wasn’t paying attention and nearly took you out! ❞ She exclaimed, a hand carefully adjusting her glasses as frantic words left her lips.

❝ I was just confused, trying to figure somethings out. I am so sorry. ❞ She added after a moment, straightening her posture as she spoke. It had been some time since she had last seen him, so to have this be their first interaction in a long time wasn’t something the Kryptonian was entirely happy about.

Azure orbs looked around the area carefully, hues of caution filled the dark pools of her irises. She was unsure of where she was, or how she got there. The last thing she remembered was facing off against a rogue alien. The next thing she knew she was here, standing amidst some camp with people looking at her as though she were some kind of threat. Hands raised up, palms extended towards the small crowd; a gesture meant to express that she was there in peace and meant them no harm. Kara watched a boy perhaps a few years younger than her push his way forward to the front of everyone. ❝ I mean you no harm, I am not sure how I got here but I promise you I am no threat. ❞ She stated, keeping her voice low and soothing. 

She surely must have looked strange to them, given the way in which she was dressed. Adorned in her cape and tights, the symbol of the proud House of El centered on her chest. ❝ I just need to leave and get back to National City. ❞ She stated, her words chosen carefully, as she could sense their distrust and uneasiness of her. Her gaze shifted to the boy once more, taking a cautious step forward. ❝ You look like you may understand me the best. I am not here to threaten your people. ❞

Kara wasn’t entirely sure why CatCo was sending her to Queens, New York of all places. Nor why they wanted her to interview Alessa, from what she understood of her story she suddenly appeared out of nowhere when she was a child. But nevertheless, she would do her interview and write an article, about the Williamson’s child. There was part of her that thought that this was Snapper’s way of getting her away from the office for a while. Adjusting her glass, she made her way over to someone that matched the description she had been given. ❝ Excuse me, are you Alessa? Alessa Willaimson? ❞ She inquired, a hand raised towards the sky as she called out her name.

❝ I’m with CatCo based out of National City. We were hoping to write an article about you since it is coming up on the anniversary of when you found in the park. ❞ She explained, awkwardly stumbling over her words as she tried to make sense of why she was there.
