2. CHILD OF MINE | 10/9/19
Isaiah was my first child. I never got the chance to get to know what he was like, or what his personality would have been like, or what kind of big brother he would have been. He was my introduction to motherhood and I’ll never know what kind of mother I would have been to him.
He means everything to me.

1. SUNRISE RITUAL | 10/1/2019.
There is never a sunrise on these days for me. I always set my alarm and get up early and the sun is never up. It’s funny at this point.
It has also been a few years since I’ve done this.
Since then I have had two more losses. I also have two living children.
This morning I had to sneak out of bed after my very quiet alarm went off at 7:00am because my 2 year old, Ezekiel, was finally sound asleep. I went downstairs and started peaking out of windows trying to figure out where the sun even rises from. I couldn’t see anything, it was still too dark. I step out onto our porch and I finally realize it’s cloudy, cold, and it’s probably going to rain all day. I take a few pictures and then sneak back upstairs only to hear my 4 year old calling “Mama”. I go into his room give him a hug, tell him to lay down and then I lay down on the floor next to his bed. I look out the window and then at my phone and see it’s 7:08am, the official sunrise. I sneak out of his room and back into my bed to hopefully get some sleep before one of them wakes me up again.... we finally got up out of bed little before 9am.
This was needed. I needed this, for myself.
I’m happy to have this.
Isaiah. I love you. 💙💚💛
Needed this.

Day # 31 - Sunset. It's weird to think about how much things have changed in these past 3 years. I've come so far and I need to be proud of that. I know things will never be the way I imagined they would be when I found out I was pregnant with Isaiah and that's something I'll have to live with. I do have a good life and even though my heart will always hurt for him I am happy. Zivon has been so much of a blessing and while he will never replace Isaiah he has made my life fuller, if that makes sense. It's a weird thing to try and explain and bittersweet in a way. Idk I guess unless you've been through it you can't really understand it, it's more of a feeling that I can't put into words. I love this project and I'm always sad to see it come to an end. Just like last year I didn't finish, and that's ok. During this next year I'm going to work on being kind to myself because deserve it.
Day #26 - Gratitude. I am grateful for (in no particular order): A place to live and food to eat. My beautiful children, here on earth and in heaven. My loving boyfriend. My dog. My mother and father. My brother and sister. My family. Faith. Hope. Love.
Day #25 - Earth remembrance. There is no way I can plant anything where I live right now. It's fall in Minnesota and it's supposed to snow sometime tonight. Smh. Wtf. It's wayyyy to early for snow!!!!!! But I did take Zivon to a pumpkin farm this past weekend and we got a few more pumpkins. So before Halloween I'll paint a few for Isaiah and being them to the cemetery.
