It’s a new year, many of you the first year without your loved one. Your journey is unique, so don’t compare it to anyone else’s.⠀ ⠀ Quit any grief comparison you might be doing. ⠀ ⠀ With grief comparison...⠀ Maybe you’ve had a similar loss... ⠀ loss of dad, child, loved one...⠀ Or maybe you even lost the same loved one... and feel compared to members of your family. ⠀ ⠀ There isn’t a competition with grief.⠀ All grief is valid, and all grief is different.⠀ Ones not “better” or “worse”...⠀ It’s not even necessary to rank your grief nor your healing process. ⠀ ⠀ Don’t categorize yourself.⠀ If it was a unexpected sudden lost or a longer terminal process. ⠀ It’s a loss and both have resulted in grief. You can grow through this pain of grief.⠀ ⠀ Just reading comments and scrolling through post surrounding the grief community, it’s sort of humbling seeing how SO many of you have taken what caused you such immense pain and turned it into your driving strength.⠀ ⠀ ✨From finding PURPOSE by working at a funeral home and helping others in grief @toni_lynn6 ⠀ ✨To making a COMMUNITY supporting others your age, because you remember that struggle of feeling alone @millennialshealing ⠀ ✨And continuing growing your STRENGTH because your kids rely on you and you’ll forever be the stronger person they know @wifeyofanangel ⠀ ✨And for everyone bringing AWARENESS to all things uncomfortable and not talked about in today’s culture.
