There can't be too many people in one place at once | Kuroumineko
Charlie remain silent as he listen to Rei talk about his job as and assassin and his past and the fact that he was able to see Spirit. He shook his head with his hand still resting on Rei’s shoulder.
"You didn’t disappoint me at all Rei. You wanted to stop killing, you felt guilty and you wanted to repent for your sin that shows you aren’t a bad person like what I had thought initially. If you don’t like being an assassin, if you don’t want to kill then don’t do it anymore. It’s your choice Rei. You can decide and no one can force you into it. There are many ways to repent for your past sins. It’s still not to late."
He removed his hands from Rei’s shoulder when he continue hearing what he had to say. “Rei the they that you are running from is it the group that train you to become a assassin? If that the case I wouldn’t let them catch or find you, that way it wouldn’t have to become what you have said Rei.”
Charlie glanced at the sky which had already turn dark, covered by stars in the night sky. “It’s already this late, why don’t you come over and stay at my place for the night Rei? We could continue searching for your brother and companion in the morning?” he reached out a hand for Rei waiting for his answer.
As he thought, Charlie's presence assured him. Or perhaps he had been looking for that kind of gentleness all along. But not yet, he mustn't forgive himself just yet.
"As much.. as I don't want to kill, there's also a reason why I kill people." He muttered, he might have sounded as if he hated his family. However, in truth he didn't actually hate them. It is the thought of killing people, ending their life, put pain into their souls that scared him.
"... I'll tell you next time, you're right that it's already this late. And as much as I'd love to be around your calming soul, I still have to look for my brother and leader. They will be worried about me." He smiled. For some reason, after all that talking he felt as if he could be okay leaving Charlie now. Because he knew they will meet again sometime.
"Charlie-san, next time, let's go to the Tokyo Tower together." He smiled. He didn't know when next time is, it could be tomorrow, or years after. It depends on where their mission is going, however, he knew he could see Charlie again. He had trusted him, and even shared his secret that he had not even told his leader.
