Review Of The Asylum
The Asylum (Exeter)
Directed by Marcus Nispel Written by Kirsten McCallion and Marcus Nispel.
A group of teenagers Reign (Brittany Curran), Patrick (Kelly Blatz), Brad (Brett Dier) Amber (Gage Golightly) and Rory (Michael Ormsby) go on a road trip to an abandoned Asylum (Exeter), in their drunkiness they start to play with mystical forces, Unknowingly releasing a evil spirit. One by one they get possessed.
Not only do they have to deal with possessions, but law breaking, murder, demons its all very action packed.
Actually rather impressed, it has a lot of gore, dark humour, OK it may not be the best exorcism/possession film out there but still I give atleast an 8. At the start it is a little slow and boring but you have to keep watching, then you come to find how they got possessed to researching the patients folders when it was an asylum to figuring out how to help the possessed. Brilliant
Review Of Knock Knock
Knock Knock written by Guillermo Amoedo Nicolás López and Eli Roth and directed by Eli Roth who I see as one of the masters of gory horror. This movie is of a home invasion and tells you of a Evan ( Keanu Reeves) a happily married man to Karen (Ignacia Allamand) and two children Louis (Aaron Burns) Vivian (Colleen Camp). One night Even is left home alone to work on his various projects whilst Karen and the kids go to the beach. Whilst alone two damsels in distress (Lorenzo Izzo and Ana De Armas) turns up at his door asking them to use his phone, then the mayhem starts with different mental, physical and emotional torture of him.
I enjoyed this film, but have to say it wasn't the best from Eli Roth. I was expecting lots more gore and torture. I feel is more just like normal home invasion movies. It wasn't really imaginative which you expect from Eli. I did however love the acting and the suspense leading up to Evans torture.
If you like home invasion horrors with not too much gore and violence then this is the movie for you.

The Soska Sisters has a new project on the go, a game show called Hellevator. Its a horror themed. Suckablood Horror Review
Well that the moment I am really into short horrors, esp as I am short of time a lot these days so its always good when I have 10 minutes spare.
Today's review is on Suckablood, a child's fairytale come true. Written, directed by Ben Tillett and Jake Cuddihy and produced by Ben Franklin this film brings you a old witch of a step mum (played by Sam Metcalf) who warns her step daughter (Holly Jacobson) about a curse, a entity (Robin Berry) that will cut off her thumb if she keeps sucking it.
With a spooky voice narrated by Ben Tillett this would be a brilliant scary story to watch for pre teens and teenagers for halloween. Really loved the erily music and graphics. Well acted. I love how it was made to look set in the olden days with no light just candles and the big spirally stairs.
You can check out their films at www.bloodycuts.co.uk/films
Teddy: Short Film Review
From the creepy minds of Kevin Sommerfield and Steve Goltz comes a 1980s slasher "Teddy" Clay, Aaron, Jenny and Dana are on a road trip when they run someone over a man (Jeff). Dumping the body, they get on with their trip not knowing what's in store for them later.
I haven't really watched many short horror films before, but I could get used to it. Teddy breathes new life into the slasher genre. Well thought out and acted. Strong storyline, I would really love to see this film as a feature length film. I haven't seen a film where someone takes on the "persona" of their teddy bear and goes out for some slicing and dicing action

Just watched the first episode of Darknet, AMAZING. Its only 25 minutes long but so much is packed into it, its like a mixture of the horror films Saw, Final Destination, Another 24 Hours To Die, Chain Letter, Silent Scream, Fear Dot Com and probably a whole load more all mixed into one. Plus not for getting the creepy, intense music and the edge of your seat jump scares. It you haven’t checked it out I think you need to. It is currently on netflix UK. Now off to watch all the other episode. I’m so excited. It is truly a good horror.

Directed by- Leigh Whannell Produced by- Jason Blum, David Diaz, James Wan. Screenplay by Leigh Whannell Starring- Lin Shaye, Dermot Mulroney, Stefanie Scott, Angus Sampson, Leigh Whannell
I saw this film last week, so my memories of it is a little sketchy.
Insidious chapter 3 is the story right at the beginning before the Lambert family haunting. Quinn Brenner a teenager who is grieving for her mum, asks Elise for help in contacting her. As Elise agrees. She hears the presence threaten her and warns Quinn to stop contacting the dead as they can all hear. Soon after the Entity is getting more and more frequent and she starts hearing/seeing things. Before it takes over. They call in paranormal experts/researchers "specs and Tucker". Then Elise. Once defeated the demon and bringing her back they join up as a team.
I must say I had high expectations of chapter 3. I loved the first two and the trailer. At the start it told the story of Elise and the life of Quinn. But as it got further in It lacks the action and a strong storyline. I became quite bored. But as usual it was amazing acting from Lin Shaye. I loved the graphics of the man who can't breathe and the atmosphere of bring Quinn back.
Well I will leave it there I may need to see this film again this week. Just to make sure I have a accurate view.
Critical Analysis On Halloween Remake III 3D
So there is another REMAKE of Halloween movie franchise. Not sure how I feel about it. I have been seeing it “rumoured” on various websites and Twitter. According to CinemaBlend it won’t be out until fall 2015.
Rob Zombie gave the reboot of Halloween in 2007.
Should there be a limit to amount of remakes?
I know a few people who doesn’t like movies from the early years (-80s) so in a way this would be an amazing experience for these people. Plus it is has writing credits from the famous John Carpenter. But on the other hand isn’t it going to get boring after a while? There are so many in the original series, is the remake going to be the same? Wouldn’t it get tiring? Please don’t get me wrong I watch any horror movies that are out. I probably weven watch and own the halloween remakes on DVD.
I really want peoples opinions on these questions I have highlighted.

Poltergeist (2015) Spoilers
I went to the cinema a couple of times to watch Poltergeist. I got all excited when I heard there was a remake of the 1982 Poltergeist. Also was quite skeptical, Remakes arn’t always as good as the original I love all horror but I get excited when it comes to highly promoted and talked about a lot. I went once to see it in 3D and then again in 2D. I wanted to get a look at both. I have to say I do prefer 2D due to the fact I don’t have to wear those annoying 3D glasses over my own. Plus not sure what possessed me to sit at the back of the cinema in a premier seat.
The Bowen family (Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Saxon Sharbino, Kyle Catlett and Kennedi Clements) move into a suburban home. Not knowing that is going to be haunted by evil forces of the people in the graveyard under where their home was built on. They were told that their home was built on the graveyard and the copses and headstones removed.
Griffin and his sister Maddison (Kennedi Clements) are the first ones to notice things going wrong. With Maddison chatting with the TV and cupboard. Weird noises in Griffin’s room which is in the attic he has a few issues. The first night he hears scuffling noises and explores, and gets freaked out by the amount of clowns. He screams for his dad who too explores and comes across a squirrel. I really thought thats where the action was going to begin.
When the home starts making weird noises and the lights and electrical appliances turning on by themselves, they know something is very wrong.
On the night when Mum and Dad are out to dinner and left Kendra babysitting her brother and sister, This is where I started to enjoy and the intensity grew. That is the night when lots of action happens and the rise in intensity rose. Kendra gets stuck in the basement as she is exploring as to why her phone is going funny. Griffin in the attic room the window above his bed breaks and he gets pulled up into the tree and Maddison gets kidnapped by the spirits. But maddison is able to communicate via the TV.
At this point they are all beside themselves with worry, as their daughter had disapeared with no trace. So they call in Dr. Brooke Powell (Jane Adams), Sophie (Susan Heyward) and Boyd (Nicholas Braun) who are paranormal experts. As they are setting up their equipment strange happenings begin esp for Boyd who is working in Maddisons room in the cupboard. He gets pulled in and held as the spirits torture him with the drill. Then Carrigan Burke (Jared Harris) gets called in to work out to communicate with the spirits in hope to find Maddison.
They throw a rope through the closet and ties it to the wall and leading down to the living room ceiling to guide them to find Maddison, with help of Griffins drone with a camera attached to it. They find Maddison and then the spirits pull back her and the drones breaks. After arguing Griffin goes in to the other side to rescue her as he feels he is to blame.
Griffin finds maddie and they both fall through the ceiling once revived the family and paranormal experts think its over so the family packs up their bags gets in the car to drive to safety. But its not over the spirits drag them back in and grabs maddie again and the house begins to break down and goes into oblivion. Well again they are back out again and driving away watching their home disapear.
Found the family weren’t really a close family, there was a distance between them, wasn’t the best type of family.
This film was good but is never going to be as good as the original starring the late Heather O Rourke.
However I did enjoy the part with the squirrel and the action and work of the paranormal experts and graphics of the other realm and the search for Maddison.
If you like horror there are a lot more “scarier” horrors to watch. It was in cinema’s 22nd May and will be on VOD and DVD soon.
Thank you for reading my review and hope you enjoyed it.
