Hopia (In Chinese, which means "good pastry") is a fusion of Filipino and Chinese pastry and the inexpensive version of moon cake.  It's usually flaky and stuffed with mung bean (monggo) paste. Since the traditional version tasted a bit bland for the Filipino palate, the Chinese deli Eng Bee Tin in Binondo created the first Hopiang Ube (Purple Yam) to appeal to the local taste. This later became their signature product until other bakers started selling it in the 80s. I used to love snacking on hopiang monggo in elementary school, but as I grew older, my preference shifted to hopiang ube. I also tried hopiang baboy but I didn't like it at all.

"Elesi"

I was randomly listening to OPM songs one night while brainstorming for my self-made prompts and I came across this song from Rivermaya. They say it's a song about the psychedelic drug LSD but when I tried googling it, elesi directly translates to "blade" (of a fan or plane). I don't have much knowledge about drugs but I'm currently into tarot so I took the direct translation of elesi and incorporated it to a "tarot" like design.

I stopped watching kdramas and pinoy teleseryes until MARIA CLARA AT IBARRA happened!!!

These are the doodles I made when I started binging the episodes last November 2022. I lost the urge to make art but shows like this make my hand itch to draw again! 😩🤧💖 Love this series so much.
