Finished the gameoverse pilot, my full thoughts below. Honestly, pretty good! Gonna say a really hot take here but as someone who loves the vibes of video games, I think Gameoverse explicitly embracing the fact it’s a video game makes me like it just a bit more than TADC. We shall see though! 8/10.

So I don’t have any pictures, but one thing I liked was the silliness of Kit. She’s a very me coded character, and I like the fact she has Mega Man inspiration. Also, I really like Kaboodle. The fact he’s voiced by JSCHLATT is super funny, and honestly makes him all the better, though his voice sounds super out of place. The art style is also great!

If i had to critique it in a way, I think the character design needs a bit of work. All of the male characters were quite varied in body types, notably Fold, Kaboodle, Gobbles, Syntax, and Flappers, to name a few. Meanwhile, the females… not so much. Kit and Miss Information have the same body type, as well as another female character from Kit’s world. There are a few other examples too, though they’re slipping my mind. I know they’re out there somewhere.

I really hope that more variation for the female cast is introduced in the future. Overall though, 8/10 pilot.
