she probably looked ridiculous, carrying eight containers and walking aimlessly around school. ❝ i swear, i’m like those people in math problems. rothy accidentally bakes 96 balkavas — anyways, i accidentally made 96 baklavas; please take some. ❞ she, honestly, didn’t know who she was talking to as her vision was blocked by the tuppleware but she could see their shadow. whoever it was, she just hoped they would accept her offer.
“New year, new you? If people keep failing with their actual new year’s resolutions, what makes you think you’ll succeed with a senior year rebrand? I’m willing to bet that you’ll fall into old habits in no time.”
“If you’re planning on asking me how my summer was, I suggest you turn around and bother someone else.” He mumbled, not bothering to look up at the person who approached him.
back to school wasn’t kalani’s favorite thing. summer had come and gone in the blink of an eye. with performances with her step dad’s group, she enjoyed time with them and getting to just relax. now that she was back in school, she knew she had to put her school work, volleyball and dancing first. it was hard, since her mom wanted her to get good grades, excel in volleyball and her step dad was on her about her dancing, to make sure she had her hip movements right. sighing softly, she walks through the school doors and goes to her locker taking out her things and putting them in her bag. closing it shut, she rests her back against the lockers and leans her head back spacing out for a bit until she hears someone approaching, “sorry what did you say?”

“Wait, you saw my name on the sign up sheet for the glee club? Seriously?” Ezra’s jaw dropped, and he staggered back a little, feigning surprise. “I can’t believe this. It’s only the first day of school, and The Windsors have already outdone themselves. Fuck, they must have lost every shred of chill over the summer. I don’t think even Dante was capable of doing something that messed up.”
Most people wouldn’t dare go near their place of work when they were off-duty, but Gillian was different. Sure, being a cashier at a bookstore was about as glamorous as any other minimum-wage job, but Gillian genuinely loved being surrounded by books, and the substantial employee discount she got at the store was a pretty good incentive. She walked along one of the shelves, staring at the spines until she bumped into someone at the end of the row. “Holy crap, I am so sorry. Sometimes I just get so distracted I just…” she said. “Are you okay?”
Trying to catch up on a few lost months of school work a few weeks before he was due to go back was proving slightly more difficult for Ethan than he expected. Grumbling to himself under his breath, scowling at some math problem he stopped caring about as soon as he saw it, he slammed his pencil down in the library before googling the answer. “What use is learning this with all the answers available anyway?”
“According to the horoscope app on my phone, I should have stayed home today, and I really wish I had just listened,” Wesley sighs, slumping his shoulders. “Call me paranoid, but I feel like people are giving me looks. You know, suspicious looks, and I can’t help but think it’s because of Dante…” The Nietzsche scratches the back of his neck nervously. “I’m just worried they might think I had something with… that.”

“He has been feeling the light lately. There is no denying that it is terrifying, but flowers cannot grow in the dark, my dear, and anything that stops growing, is destined to wither away and die.” Lysander recites robotically, without looking up from his iphone. “That’s all the ‘commentary’ you’ll be receiving from me today on that particular subject. “Tell it to me straight,” Kings started, looking up from his spot at the booth— a mini buffet of the greasiest, cheesiest diner food available displayed in front of him, partially consumed. “Do I look as bad as I feel?”
“Yeah, I know, I’m less bitchy when I’m drunk, shut up, do you wanna dance?” they asked, hips already shaking to the music as they awaited the other’s answer.
jini was having a little too much fun at the muldofsky party. she took one of the trays from the bar and placed a bunch of shots for her to carry and walk over to random people for a single game of truth, dare, or drink. so far, she was nine for nine in getting people to drink rather than them answering her question or completing her dare. there were some who were stubborn enough to try a second time but merely ended up failing again. she walked around until she spotted someone who was too sober for her liking and approached them, ❝ hey! truth or dare? ❞
After spending her summer in Washington DC, interning with a politician that her father managed (and hating every fucking second of it), Sophia was glad to be back in Boston, back to a city where there was a boba place within biking distance from her house. Upon returning to her preferred boba place, Sophia noticed that the kid at the counter was some poor sophomore on scholarship that Dante had made her yell at last year. Seeing the poor kid stutter as he took her order, Sophia felt an uneasy feeling in her stomach.
“Get over it, I’m not going to kill you,” Sophia said. She pulled out two twenty dollar bills and put it in the tip jar. “See? Nothing to worry about. Now, my drink.” As she turned around to head to the table where she’d set her purse, she noticed that a fellow Houghton student had been standing behind her in line and witnessed the entire thing. “Don’t start thinking I’m a nice person just because I did that,” she said defensively. “Summer didn’t change me that much.”
