As we all know, video has become a pivotal player in real estate marketing. Because it's established itself as a vital tool for promoting a property on the web, the necessity to standout amongst a sea of compeition is now a must.
Forever present at the forefront of real estate technology and marketing, Houlihan Lawrence experienced a "Year of the Video" in 2013 -- not just in the promotion of our listings, but our agents, communities, services, and more on our exclusive HLTV channel.
Regarding our listings videos, PlatinumHDNYC transformed our visual marketing from one-dimensional stills to the feeling one gets when actually being inside a home despite, in most cases, being many miles away.
Two of our listings, Robin Kencel's for 21 Midwood in Greenwich and Brian Murray's for 353 Pine Brook Road in Pound Ridge, received some national recognition from Inman News. Robin used the art of ballroom dance to highlight the home's architectural elegance, while Brian awarded a dog the chance to narrate his listing video.
A handful of our listings appeared on CBS New York's Living Large segment, with agents David Turner, Amanda Miller and Katie Becker McLoughlin acting not just as tour guides, but as television hosts, too.
2013 also brought us the creation of new Dutchess community videos, which examined the many lifestyles (Life Along The Water, for example) the county offers. My personal favorite was from the hot air balloon festival that launched from Poughkeepsie last summer.
We also incorporated video in our training materials, as well as in the promotion of some of our newest consumer products like the Interactive Real Estate Storefront now available in White Plains, Larchmont, Armonk, and Scarsdale.
Where is video headed? In any case where technology and social media are concerned, it's hard to tell. But with the bar raised so high and the potential so great, we're looking forward to a very bright 2014.
