      The young witch will shake her head. “It’s nothing about you. I meant it. It has nothing to do with you.” She says as she takes a bite of her croissant. She had been through a lot before coming her. She wasn’t fully over her death and come back. She wasn’t okay from her time there. The darkness, the silence, the voices, the screams left unheard. It effected her and made her jumpy. 

    Her eyes will snap to his when he whispers, raising a brow. “How’d you learn that little fact?”

        He’ll look at her. He could tell that she had a lot going on inside her head at the moment but Zoellis knew prying would just make things worse. “I get it.” He nods. “For a while I wouldn’t let anyone touch me.” He tells her. 

        “This is a house full of teenage girls.” Zoellis tells her. “They talk.” The boy will shrug. “Secrets don’t stay secrets for long in a house like this.” He will say. “I know what it’s like.” Zoellis will admit. “To have no hope. To be scared of your own shadow...” He’ll mumble. “It isn’t fun.”

     Listening to what he said, hearing it from his mouth – well it was worse than what Skuld had been told. With a sad look upon her face, the female did her best to fight the urge to hug him. She hadn’t known Zoellis very well, and she didn’t want to make things worse at a time like this.

      However, when he let out the sob, Skuld couldn’t help herself. As she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around the other, she gently rubbed his back. Going through what he went through… She couldn’t imagine.

     “I am sorry,” mused Skuld, her grip tightening ever so slightly on the warlock. “I could never imagine what you are going through, never could I even begin to try to imagine. I am sorry. I may have not known your girlfriend, but I don’t think she would want you to beat yourself up over this. She loved you, and she trusted you with her life. That is a deep connection, and even if she did know about it – with a connection that deep – I don’t think it would have changed her mind about trusting you.”

   Zoellis let out another sob. His arms wrapped around the girl. “I loved her so much.” He says. He leans into the girl just needing the comfort of someone being there. 

    When she speaks her words make their way to his ears. Part of him thinks she’s right. Charlotte loved Zoellis. She trusted him with her life she had said so herself. He knows that if she’d survived, she wouldn’t have blamed him for what happened. She would most likely help him figure out what was going on with him. He knew deep down that she could never be scared of him because she truly loved him. 

     He looks down at the girl. “I miss her so much.” He mutters.

     “Thank you but it’s not a guess. That’s your scent. It’s always going to be your scent until it mixes with someone elses and you make something amazing.” She told him with a soft smile. “When you find that one person that you’re destined to be with–you’re soulmate if you will-you’re scents click and they give something amazing to the world of heightened senses. You know when you smell something delicious and can’t figure out where it’s coming from? That’s because you passed soulmates.” She told him.

 She leaned against the edge of the tub as she talked, chin resting on her arms. “You smelled of fear, anxiety, and want of a way out. Like what you were about to do was going to be your freedom and then I smelt the regret and I knew you didn’t want to leave just yet, so we did all we could to bring you back. I really didn’t like the smell of death coming from you.” She said softly.

    “You probably didn’t. She’s probably looking out for you and making sure you’re okay. She’s taking care of you.” She said.

         Zoellis will look at her. “Charlotte always smelled like cookies and banana nut muffins. She loved to bake. We took a couples cake decorating class together one summer.” He smiled. “When I was with her there was a hint of a fresh apple pie smell.” He mutters. “You think that was our scent?” The warlock said his eyes meeting her’s. 

         He’ll shrug. “I was scared. I knew I wasn’t strong enough to become supreme. Besides the other girl’s wouldn’t have wanted a guy to be the most powerful witch.” He shakes his head. 

         “You know I like to think that she’s watching over me. Making sure I don’t get into too much trouble. “But I’ve done things. Things that I’m not proud of. Like at the hospital with that sorority girl.” He says with a sigh. “That was the worst thing I’ve ever done...she’d done worse but still. It wasn’t right.”
