carrying a small water pistol and one of those fake-lipstick pens in your purse helps to get in the zone. the best part of being a spy is the nifty gadgets everyone knows that.
BONUS if you have to bring a friend of another gender with you to pretend to be your boyfriend. you are both PARTNER SPIES and one of you has to be the cranky but soft-hearted veteran and the other has to be the endearingly-assholeish rookie.

This is actually a really helpful suggestion for a change of mindset. It sucks when your safety is dependent on pretending to be someone you're not, especially with family, but this makes it less personal and more like "ha, you guys don't even know...fools". I'd bring the water gun but our littles might have to much fun with it.

There’s only been a handful of times I’ve woken up crying. Where the tears and pain in your dream are so deep and real that it bleeds into the atmosphere.

Surviving trip
It seems there has been no time to sit and write a post since we’ve been back. Much of the past weeks have just been getting our life back on track and readjusted to all the responsibilities.
