Netflix's Unchosen is a half-assed attempt of a cult drama mixed with suspense.

There are too many discrepancies in the storyline.

1) Cell phones are supposedly forbidden. Isaac was punished for having one but in later episodes other people have phones. And if cell phones are instruments of the Devil because you can access porn, they shouldn't have computers either.

2) They drink alcohol. Don't most cults forbid vices: sex, drugs, alcohol? By the way their leader is a drunk.

3) No outsiders...sort of. Mr. Phillips claims being in The Fellowship protects them from the outside world, from the Devil but when Rosie tells them about the stranger Sam instead of calling the cops or getting rid of Sam themselves they welcome him. They even hid him when the cops are looking for him. He ends up getting baptized. They later allow Sam's little brother to stay. And why was Charley allowed in the house for Isaac's funeral especially since she's was Isaac's mistress?

4) You're banned...kinda. Isaac is supposedly banned from the Fellowship so why can he just go back and talk to Rosie? Then Isaac just shows up at the construction site. Isn't the Fellowship supposed to be some strict cult that keeps outsiders out?

If Matthew is banished, how does he just show up knocking on his parents' door and no one stopped him?

5) They're supposedly know nothing about the outside world but they send the women shopping at a place that looks like Walmart. If they supposedly know nothing about the outside world how does Rosie know how to search for Sam on the internet. (The computer wasn't connected to the internet.)

6) I thought the women didn't know how to drive but the older women drive them to the store.

7) When did Rosie get passports for her and Grace? Why do they have passports anyway?

8) If this is a strict cult how did Mrs. Phillips just leave her husband and no one tried to stop her?

9) When Sam showed Adam the video of him having oral sex why didn't Adam delete the video? Adam knows how to use a computer. He uses it at work so why didn't he know how to delete a video?

10) What happened to the former leader Mr.Phillips? Last time we saw him he's lying on the floor shirtless in the isolation room. Did he go to jail for drunk driving or did they kill him?

11) So apparently the original group left the cult and Sam recruited new members a year later and becomes the new leader. How did he do this without anyone seeing him? Did the police just stop looking for him?

It is supposed to be a cult that's impossible to leave but people (Isaac, Mrs. Phillips, Adam, Rosie and Grace) literally leave and nothing happens to them.

While I enjoyed 'Unchosen', I do think it's done. What's left to be said?

It probably could've/ should've been a movie but I enjoy series formats much more personally.

Rosie avoided falling for the "trap" any time he came around with apologies and I really fucking love that. It's so refreshing in media to see a woman experience a man's bad side and immediately know he's shit and everything he says doesn't matter because this is what he DID. She played it smart and humored him time and time again but since that outing she KNEW "when someone shows you who they are, believe them".

If she didn't fall for his shit while being actively infatuated with him, she isn't gonna fall for it over a year later.

Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes

The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve. 

Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.

If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.

Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.

This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!

Let's talk about reblog notes.

We rolled out a significant change to how notes work on reblogs, and the reaction has been strong. We're not going to pretend otherwise. 

First things first: We're reversing the change. Your feedback in comments, emails, and especially reblogs, made clear that the rollout created problems we need to address before moving forward. We also should have communicated this differently from the start, and we didn't.

We still believe there's a better version of how reblogs can work. One that gives every voice in a chain the credit it deserves. But we want to get there with you.

In the coming days we'll share more on how we plan to do that,  including ways to work directly with some of you on this and future changes before they ship.

Renee was remarried to a woman - so, to put it bluntly, not only has a child been orphaned by both biological parents, but the possible ramifications of a same-sex stepparent keeping custody amidst all the scrutiny and awful, virulent rhetoric to come makes me nauseous just to think about. Not only will Renee's wife and child need support for therapy and other immediate financial impacts of such a traumatic loss, an ample legal fund may be needed as well. I hope I'm wrong.
