Okay I did include alcohol in this so obviously I made this into a college AU. Also I more focused on the alcohol and game rather than the dining itself, hope that’s okay!
Bokuto was the one to originally introduce the idea
There was a moment of silence as the group had began to run out things to both do or say to one another, and as the ace felt a moment of boredom, the idea suddenly came to him, “Oh I know! Guys, let’s play truth of dare!”
He rarely ever picked truth, as he thought it would be rather boring for both him and the other players. Bokuto didn’t back down from a single dare either, running through them all like a true champ
The headcanon before this one means he chugged an entire jar a pickle juice, essentially
Bokuto will never admit to anyone in that room that he actually liked the taste of the pickle juice, he just pretends to be disgusted
This young man was So. Freaking. Excited. One could almost hear a heavy gasp emit from him the moment the suggestion had left Bokuto’s lips
Some thought he was a little too excited for this game, which sort of ended up contrasting his usual behavior. Why did he want to play truth or dare so badly? Very suspicious, indeed
It was soon found out just why Kuroo was so anxious to start the game and that was simply because Kuroo’s evil, he was a real devil that night. Whether it be a truth or a dare, he challenged his fellow captains with the absolute worst of requests. This caused the entire group to silently dread it being his turn
With him dishing it out, Kuroo could take it with ease as well, meaning truths and dares, of course. He had no issue with doing the dares he had been given. meaning that at one point in their night, he stood up on top of the table and started shouting, which in turn rewarded them a scolding (Spoiler: They were kicked out)
Due to Daichi’s…parental absence (which will be discovered later on), Oikawa was then passed the metaphorical baton of fretting over the group. It hadn’t been something Oikawa consented to, it just ended up happening ending with him being a little bit of an annoyed ball of stress
With Daichi, for whatever reason, constantly ordering more rounds, then with Bokuto and Kuroo encouraging him to go further, and with Ushijima doing…well, his own thing, Oikawa’s patience could be considered short that night
Oikawa repeatedly picked truth purely just to spite Kuroo, as Kuroo had called him a coward. The brunette hadn’t yet realized that this would backfire on him
“Alright then, how many times in a day do you masturbate?”
Sawamura, despite common belief, cannot handle his alcohol at all. Three drinks in, and the poor boy was completely hammered. Ignoring everyone’s (mostly Oikawa’s) complaints, this man just kept on ordering and ordering rounds of food and drinks, which was his mostly
And when drunk, many are very surprised witnessing this version of Daichi for the first time. Contrary to his usual, rational self, a tipsy Daichi is somewhat a mess, a wildcard, even
He wasn’t very drunk at the beginning at the proposal of the game, and so he didn’t like the sound of it very much, but got into more and more as the game progressed
“Daichi, it’s not your turn, yet.”
Much like Bokuto, Terushima was beginning to grow a little bored, himself. With spending a couple hours talking to a group, one could run out of things to say, it happens. Therefore, he was pretty excited as well at his suggestion. This is Terushima, how could he not be?
He mostly sticked to picking truths, he later on explained that this was because there wouldn’t be much to do in a restaurant (It was out of cowardice)
After they had to leave the restaurant, thanks to Kuroo, he finally decided to do it. He picked dare. Boy, did he do wrong
“I dare you to get another piercing.”
Despite thinking that being a dare was insane, surprisingly, Terushima actually went through with it. The gang headed to the nearest tattoo parlour, and it had officially been done, which had gone beyond anyone’s belief that night. Terushima obtained a nape piercing that night
In truth, this young man doesn’t really understand why he was invited to such a thing, to begin with. He doesn’t know half of these people even a little bit personally, so why is he here? But they seem to be having a good time, and there’s already food and drinks being served out so he decided to stay anyway
Ushijima can hold his liquor very well. Even if he were to be feeling very drunk, it doesn’t show one bit, just a small flush added to his cheeks
When the game was introduced to the group that night, he was confused as to why some of the men around him were so excited about the concept of “Truth or Dare.” He didn’t get the appeal, and he didn’t get just why Kuroo and Bokuto were bursting with excitement over it
But as the minutes went by, he started to understand the appeal and he was having quite the good time himself. However, the other participants were rather annoyed with the fact that every round, Ushijima would stubbornly pick truth. He didn’t do it out of fear of the dares, it just happened to be what he thought to be the most interesting. It was not as interesting for the others, unfortunately
