❝ i don’t know if i should feel bad for the waste collector at that point, ❞ karin easily laughs over the image that plays across her mind. if it had been a movie scene, it would certainly be a great time to play some dramatic solemn music that suddenly jars itself to a stop as the four return to normal. this is probably one of the thing that makes her so fond of her housemates. the amount of shenanigans which they pull up that most others wouldn’t.

such as the ikea shopping itself. when she had lived with her parents it had never been her own decision as to what her room should look like. or anything related to her. it was always her parents decision, crafted from creating the optimal study room. or whatever it was, the optimal room for a girl of her age. toys were chosen for her along with books. so now that she’s able to decide on her own, karin lets her thoughts explore around freely. from one place to another until they end up in the bedroom section.

❝ hm? ❞ hearing daehyun speak, her eyes head over to what she’s pointing at and then her body follows shortly afterwards. she stands in front of the sheer bad canopies, looking at it with interest. ❝ no but i went through a big phase where i wanted one. i was watching all those princess movies, and they all looked so nice. and i was thinking how i could put fairy lights over it and make it look really magical! but you know after that i realized if the baku which is what we call beings who eat dreams, came to visit i wouldn’t know until last minute. so i changed my idea to.. ❞ karin walks over to a loft bed over in another room.

❝ i was like why not see higher? i guess i’d still be trapped regardless if a monster came. but no monsters can be hiding under my bed now right? ❞

“I never thought about putting fairy lights over it, but now that you mention it, it must look so pretty and dreamlike,” he says as he tries to picture it and he feels like this is the kind of stuff he should have been aware of considering the amount of interior design magazines he likes to read. He knows he probably won’t be the person decorating the houses he designs in the future, but still, it can’t hurt to picture what the rooms inside the houses could be like depending on the people who would choose to live in them.

“But if a monster comes now, I guess you can just vault over the edge of your loft bed and end up on the monster’s back and try to keep it in a chokehold with one arm while smacking its head with your other arm,” he laughs as he pictures it in his mind. “Hell maybe you should keep one of your skates near your pillow so you can use it as a weapon.” Now he’s just being extra and teasing her, but it’s fun. “Although you know what I think?” he begins after a short pause. “I think that it’s never too late for bed canopies and if you want to get one, you should. You know, it doesn’t even have to be above your bed. You could put it in a corner of your room, above a nest of cushions and pillows and turn that corner into a comfortable reading nook or something.”

He doesn’t really know why he’s giving all those suggestions to Karin, but here he is. Maybe it’s because he remembers that he used to want a pirate-themed room when he was a child and it never happened and he knows that it’s too late now to have a bed shaped like a pirate boat because he doesn’t think he would ever dare invite someone in his bedroom if that was the case. But a bed canopy doesn’t feel as childish.

“By the way, have you seen any lamps of interest so far?”

Frizz-bee x {Hyemin + Daehyun}

It was the perfect day to be outside. It wasn’t too cold, and it wasn’t too hot. It explained the amount of people out and about, couples walking close and holding hands, families taking their children to the park, even friends having picnics, or others doing yoga, etc. Daehyun had decided to go to one of the biggest park of the neighborhood so he could play frisbee with his friends from university. During the summer, it was probably going to be basketball or volleyball depending on the day. For now, it was frisbee.

They had played for a little while before deciding to take a break to gain their energy back. Their fuel was found in the form of sandwiches and healthy beverages, that they scarfed down rapidly. They didn’t go back to playing right away though, taking some time to just chat among themselves for a couple of minutes so they wouldn’t end up being sick from going back to running around after having just eaten.

One of his friends was in the middle of retelling some crazy story that had happened to him when Daehyun noticed a girl looking at them with something that looked like envy. He had also noticed her looking at them earlier when they had been playing. He excused himself and stood up, walking over to her.

He realized as he got closer that he knew her! “Hyemin, hi!” he exclaimed, happy to see her, and he smiled. “Did you perhaps want to join us?” he asked her because this had to be why she kept looking at them right? Maybe she wanted to play with them but was too afraid to ask? “We’re about to start playing again soon. I’m sure no one will mind if we have one more player.”

“i genuinely thought turtlenecks looked good on me, i’m honestly kind of offended.” jisoo placed it back and sat back down on the bed, glaring daggers at his roommate because he knew no amount of fight would work and he’d have to go out of his comfort zone. “alright, alright. do what you will, i am your doll today for dressing. we are basically the same height anyway, so…. i’ll borrow something nicer from you. just- be reasonable, okay?”

he flopped entirely downwards on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. “but i am going to hold you to your promise about the Netflix tomorrow. how do you get me in these things?” though he was mouthing off quite a bit, jisoo wasn’t as displeased as he was making it out to be, and he genuinely hoped that daehyun knew that too. because everything daehyun had said was true. he was sticking to the same old routine, and he was slowly losing his mind- everything with running into his ex again, being unhappy with his job, not being motivated to do anything about it, staying in all weekends; it seemed all his roommates seemed to have their heads screwed on better than him at this point too. 

“i am at your mercy.”

“Also terrible for your health,” he deadpanned, seemingly unaffected by the pout his roommate was currently doing at him, but it was really hard to resist it! He let himself be pushed aside so Jisoo could look in his own closet and he sighed when his roommate brought up the turtlenecks again. They did look good on him and he wasn’t here to destroy his self-esteem so he told him, “They do look good on you hyung. They’re just not really appropriate for our plans tonight, that’s all.”

His smile widened considerably when Jisoo finally relented and he couldn’t help but clap his hands in excitement. “I promise it won’t be anything too extreme and you’ll look amazing. Just trust me hyung!” Oh he already knew what he wanted his roommate to wear and he couldn’t wait to see him in the clothes. “Netflix tomorrow I promise,” he told him as he headed toward the door so he could go grab the clothes in his room. “And I get you into those things because deep down, there’s a part of you that wants this.”

He bade his roommate farewell (temporarily) with a brief wiggle of his fingers. He returned a few minutes later with the clothes, which he put down on the bed next to Jisoo before picking the shirt on top of the pile and showing it to him. It was a simple white dress shirt, but it was going o look amazing with the top few buttons undone. His roommate could be glad that he hadn’t given him one of his sheer black shirts. Oh he had been tempted, and maybe he would manage to convince his roommate another time, but not tonight. He then set the shirt aside and picked up the pants next. They were tight dark jeans, but not skinny. All in all, it was very simple, but with the right accessories and the right hairstyle…

“With a leather jacket on top of that? You’re going to break hearts,” he grinned. “So what do you think? Not bad right? Although if you want something more out there, I can definitely lend you something else.” A pause and then, “c’mon, try it on! I want to see how it looks.”

Jiyeon was thankful when a new drink was placed before her and offered the young boy a smile before taking a sip. At his question, she put her glass down, her fingers wrapped around it as though it would run away at any moment and considered his question. 

“Ah…I’m hoping I won’t get too drunk and forget, so I’ll pay what I owe now and just pay as I go,” she said, settling on the idea this was the best option. Not that she ever skipped the bill, but at least this way if she did, she would be paying for most of the drinks at the time of order. “Don’t let me get a drink if I don’t pay,” she added, her hand reaching into her bag to pull out her wallet and hoping this would make sure she didn’t leave without paying.

At his next question, she remained silent once more, as though she had to think about this, even though the answer was obvious. No, she hadn’t been here before and this was her first time. She guessed maybe the boy knew this, since she likely wasn’t a familiar face and the people who did frequent this bar likely were. “It is, yeah,” she said, offering a small smile. “I heard this place was nice…and I heard right. Plus I wanted to change things up and try somewhere new.”

“Roger,” he exclaimed as he did a mock military salute to let her know her instructions were going to be followed. He was smiling the entire time though, even as he reached out for the money she was handing him and returning the change to her. He then briefly moved away to grab a cutting board and a knife. He might as well keep himself busy while they talked. He bent down to retrieve a couple of limes and was soon back up to start slicing them.

“It is a nice place,” he agreed with a nod, “It’s a safe space for most of our customers. But of course, we welcome everyone.” He wondered if she knew what kind of bar it was. Even though it wasn’t one of their wildest evenings, one could still tell it was an LGBT bar if they knew where to look. It was mostly subtle, but there were couples here who dared kiss each other because they felt safe. Something that they might not risk doing outside of these walls.

Otherwise it was just a bar like any other, except perhaps with a cooler interior design. “I hope that you will enjoy your evening here with us though. Do you know that we host different types of events?” Since the topic was still about the bar, he might as well slip in some promotion for it while he’s at it.

Chaerin held onto her phone tightly, as though her life depended on it and felt as though her heart was about to burst out of her chest.

When she heard her phone go off and felt the vibration in her hands, she jumped, taking a moment to calm herself and see that Daehyun had responded. She quickly scanned his response and snorted, feeling a little more calm at the response, even though he was teasing, and knew asking him to be her saviour was a good decision.

[Chaerin >> Daehyun] You butt [Chaerin >> Daehyun] I know the difference between knocking on the door and people having sex next door, and monsters in my house…the noises are very different, not the same at all

She was joking, of course, being able to talk like this was calming her a little. A smile appeared on her face at the next response.

[Chaerin >> Daehyun] Please and thank you❤️❤️I have milk, we can have milk and cookies. None for the monsters. [Chaerin >> Daehyun] …if you come, call me. If you knock, I might let in something that’s trying to kill me.

He snickered at her reply as he finished getting dressed and returned to the kitchen so he could pack the cookies. The dishes would have to be done later, but he still left a note to his roommates that he would be taking care of that upon his return and that the only reason he hadn’t before leaving was because of an emergency. He then walked toward the entrance so he could put on his coat, but before doing that, he messaged Chaerin again.

[Daehyun->Chaechaerin] Cookies and milk! We can channel our inner Santas. [Daehyun->Chaechaerin] I’m about to leave and should be there in a couple of minutes. I’ll call you once I’m on your street.

He then wrapped his scarf around his neck and grabbed the container holding the cookies and then left. He had to take the bus to get to Chaerin’s house because he didn’t have a car and it was still too cold to just bike all the way there (which would have also taken more time).

As promised, it didn’t take long for him to get there if less than an hour could be considered short. He grabbed his phone as soon as he stepped on Chaerin’s street and immediately dialed her number. When she picked up, he greeted her with a cheerful “hey, that’s good! You’re still alive!” He listened to what she had to say in reply before continuing. “Did you know that your street is actually eerily quiet? I hope that no one’s waiting to jump out of a bush in order to turn me into fine human sashimi.”

Today he’s let out a lot earlier than usual since there’s an early schedule the next morning. The sun is still up in the sky though it’s setting, but he doesn’t have to find the dog in the dark.He looks around the surrounding unable to find the dog at first. Since Dabin didn’t give the dog a name he can’t exactly call for it so instead he walks around. It is when he glances in an alleyway that he spots the dog. But not alone.

The dog’s injured, looking quite bruised up and there’s a figure standing over the dog. He doesn’t recognize the person but that doesn’t matter.  Dabin runs over, and he knows it’s a bad idea to sound angry, but he can’t control himself when he talks.Protective, Dabin hovers between the stranger and the dog. ❝ What did you do to it? ❞ 

He was on his way back from visiting a friend when he had heard the whimpers. Any other day and he would have probably not heard them as he had a tendency to always have his earphones in when he was walking alone around town. The only reason he hadn’t been wearing them at that moment was because he had just finished talking to the phone with another one of his friends. And it’s in that short time between the end of the phone call and his search for his headphones that he heard the whining.

He had glanced up from his backpack and turned his head in direction of the alleyway that was to his right. He immediately wanted to investigate, so he tossed his bag back over his shoulders and turned right. This is exactly how people end up dying in horror movies, or being turned into vampires he thought as he walked further ahead, but that apparently wasn’t enough to scare him away from his investigation. Besides, vampires were not real and the chances of being murdered, he thought, were slim.

He soon found the source of the whimpers and the whining and he immediately crouched down, slowly presenting his hand for the dog to sniff because the poor animal was already in such bad shape that he didn’t want it to think he was going to hurt him more. He had to show he wasn’t a threat. After the dog sniffed his hand, he cautiously reached for his backpack again and placed it between his feet so he could unzip it and reach for the water bottle he had inside.

He tried to give the dog a bit of water. He wasn’t sure how much that could really help, considering how bruised the dog was. Daehyun knew that it would probably be best to bring it to a veterinarian, but if he had to be honest, he was scared that he would end up injuring the dog more by attempting to move it. He had just recapped his bottle when suddenly there was someone standing there and he startled in surprise.

So maybe he was going to get murdered after all. Before that happened though, he immediately raises his hands to show that he’s not the real threat here. “I didn’t do anything, I swear. I found it like this a few minutes ago. Is…is it yours?”

Volcano x {Junjae + Daehyun}

❝  – i tried to carry over whatever i can, but i only have two hands so… this is the best, ❞  chuckling, junjae motions down beneath the table where two bags and his extra-large backpack happens to scatter across the cool ground. bringing those on transit had been quite an interesting experience in itself - perhaps it was his smile, but junjae had been able to gain some help on the bus later. it made the trip over a lot less tumultuous. 

❝  – but thankfully! i could actually get some clay. i bought them from an arts and crafts store, so they should be of good quality too, ❞ inwardly he thanks a certain boy who is a year older than him with his ornate art hobby that often decorated the world around them. he bends down to rummage in one of the bags he had brought to pull up a bunch of packages of brown and grey clay with a broad smile dancing on his face in much triumph. ❝  – tadah! ❞

          at the other’s question he shakes his head. junjae had taken the risk to assume there would be a bottle in the house of some sort given just how many easily piled up in his own house. if not a cylindrical water bottle than probably one of an odder shape. however, they would all be malleable, easy to adapt to the situation at hand.when it came to the paint, he had hoped his clay would suffice but now that the boy ponders it over maybe painting over it wouldn’t be a bad idea either. ❝   – if you could get both it’d be great! ❞

Daehyun follows Junjae’s motion toward the floor and that’s only then that he notices that the younger had brought a lot of things with him. That must have been such a hassle, but he had to give him props for being this dedicated to his project. He’s happy to learn that the other DID bring some clay with him which, if Daehyun is honest, is probably going to save them a lot of time. “Alright, I’ll be right back,” he announces before leaving the dining room/kitchen area to go retrieve a bottle and paint. Finding a bottle was not going to be too hard. He knows there are a few that had been tossed for recycling. So he goes to pick one from where they keep their recycling bins. He chooses a plastic one and carries it back to the table, silently setting it down near Junjae before leaving again.

It turns out that finding the paint isn’t too hard either. It only takes him a few minutes to remember where he had put it away after his last project. He likes to think he is organized, and he usually is, but sometimes after a long project or a run of exams, he just wants to shove things away from his sight and well, it ends up forcing him to spend some time remembering where he put the things. He eventually finds the different bottles of acrylic paint. He also grabs a few paintbrushes and carries everything back to the table in the dining room.

“Here we go,” he says as he tries to not drop everything unceremoniously on the table. But he’s not completely successful and some items end up clattering down. Oops. He quickly straightens up the fallen bottles and then pulls a chair so he can sit closer to Junjae. “Shall we get started?” he asks even though at this point, he doesn’t think that there is much else he can help Junjae with. The younger could technically mold the shape of the volcano on his own. “I think I can attempt to make you some dinosaurs to decorate if you want,” he tells him with a big grin.

Invades personal space.

Daehyun hums softly as he pokes the onions around in the pan with a wooden spoon. He had finally managed to find some time for himself which means that he had gone to the grocery store and bought enough stuff for him to cook some meals for the week. Even though he didn’t do it often because he barely had the time in between his studies and his job, he really did like cooking. He used to watch his mom cook when he was younger, and he’d help her too, his mom more than happy to have him participate. So she thought him what she knew.

He reaches for the vegetables he had cut and prepared earlier and tosses them into the pan to join the onions. He then glances at the tablet propped nearby to re-read the instructions, as if he didn’t check them each time he was done with a step. While the vegetables cook, he moves to start preparing the meat. That’s what he’s doing when he feels a presence behind him. Now, he normally doesn’t have any problems with people stepping into his personal space, except when he’s studying or if it’s someone he really doesn’t want near him, but what unsettles him right now is that the person doesn’t say anything.

He continues to cut the meat, pretending that the other person isn’t there. He knows that logically, it has to be one of his roommates, who else would it be if not them? A murderer, his mind so helpfully supplies, and he almost rolls his eyes at himself. He expects the person to grab something from the fridge, but no, they just hover near him without saying anything!! So Daehyun slowly sets his knife down and whirls around so fast that he catches Jisoo’s surprised look.

His poor roommate looks like a deer caught in headlights. “What are you doing just staying there all silent?” Daehyun asks him, but there’s not an ounce of reproach in his tone. He’s surprised, but he’s also happy because it’s not often that Jisoo comes close to him like this, to the point of invading his personal space. It’s usually the other way around. It’s usually Daehyun invading Jisoo’s space, worming his way closer to the older, hoping to make him smile and brighten his day a little so he can lose a bit of that tension he always seems to carry in his shoulders.

“It smelled good,” Jisoo mumbles and Daehyun can’t help but grin before he says “What did? Me? Or the food?” and then he starts chuckling because the older now looks so flustered. “Would you like to have a taste?” And when he sees Jisoo’s eyes widening, he quickly adds, “the food hyung. Would you like to taste the food.” He’s pretty sure that the tips of his ears are bright red so he quickly turns his back to the other and focuses on quickly stirring the vegetables in the pan. Surprisingly, he still feels Jisoo’s presence, which means the other didn’t escape this awkward situation. As a matter of fact, he soon feels the older leaning a bit against him so he can have a better view of what Daehyun has been cooking.

So Daehyun scoops a few vegetables with the wooden spoon and brings it up to Jisoo’s mouth over his shoulder and he turns his head slightly to see the other take the food into his mouth and chew. "So? What do you think?"

Headbutts  

The thing with trying to balance too many things in one hand is that something is bound to eventually slip away and drop. This is exactly what happens to Daehyun as he tries to carry some money, a wrapped sandwich and a plastic bottle of ice tea in his left hand while reaching into his pocket with his right hand for his phone because someone decided now would be a perfect time to call him (and he apparently believes that answering now is better than letting the call go to voicemail). So as he speaks “hello” into the device, he feels and hears the coins slipping from his hand and making way too much noise as they meet the floor.

“Please hold on,” he tells the person on the other end of the line as he crouches down to start picking up those damn coins, moving his phone to his left hand so he can use the right. He notices that someone is already helping gathering them up and he should probably offer a coffee to that person, unless they decide to run away with his money. Thankfully, that’s not what happens, but he doesn’t know if what does end up happening is better than stolen coins or not.

He’s trying to reach the last piece, arm extended when the other person suddenly moves their head and ends up headbutting him really hard. A string of colorful expletives come out of each of their mouths. Daehyun ends up sitting on the ground, pressing both hands to his forehead (the bottle of ice tea feels great against his skin but it doesn’t stop the throbbing. The other person is standing up, but clutching the counter with one hand and their head with the other.

When they finally pull their hands away from their heads, they both glance at their hands to see if they’re bleeding (hey someone could have accidentally sink their teeth in, that’s a real thing that can happen), but when they realise that everything seems fine, they finally look at each other and share a look of recognition. “Seungbin?” “Daehyun?” they say at the same time, and then Daehyun starts laughing because what kind of ridiculous sitcom is this?

“First we crash into each other at school, and now we crash into each other again? Are you trying to tell me something?” he tells Seungbin as he runs his free hand through his hair and then pushes himself up to his feet slowly because his head still hurts. That hadn’t been a soft headbutt. It had been hard. It had resonated. He’s happy to see the other again though. He’s about to offer him coffee when he hears “Hello? Dae are you still there? What happened?” from the speaker of his phone. He had completely forgotten about his phone call. The tips of his ears turn bright red and he fumbles a little as he brings the phone to his ear and quickly tells the person he will call them back.

He clears his throat after hanging up. “So…um…you like running into me, huh?” is what comes out of his mouth then and he instantly wants the floor to swallow him because this was NOT what he was supposed to say. “I mean, coffee? Would you like some coffee? I’m inviting this time.”

junjae makes his way to a familiar home that doesn’t belong to him, but carries the same sort of aura that brings him comfort. he rings the doorbell, carefully waiting. though he’s brought something for all the members of the place, the entire execution will be based on who he sees first.

❝  – oh hey! ❞   with lady luck on his side, it’s one of the people whose item he is already holding. junjae immediately lifts his hand forward, white see-through bag in his hand that he drops into the other’s palm. a simple but cute keychain lays inside it. ❝  –happy white day! ❞ 

Daehyun doesn’t know who he expected to find on the other side, but he’s certain he wouldn’t have thought of Junjae. He’s not unhappy to see him though and it shows by the smile that appears on his face as soon as he sees the other. “Hey Junjae, come in,” he tells him, and he’s about to ask him if he’s there to see Karin when the boy offers him a small bag. “For me?” he asks in surprise. His birthday had been a month ago and nothing too exciting had been happening. Wait….a month ago…and there it is, the confirmation that it’s indeed White Day today. He picks the little keychain inside and sets it down in his palm so he can have a closer look. “It’s really cute! Thank you Junjae,” he tells him before reaching over to ruffle the boy’s hair.

Nose boop.

He can feel a pressure on his nose, but he doesn’t want to open his eyes, not yet. It pulled him from the depth of slumber not too long ago, and now he’s just pretending to still be asleep so he can enjoy the slide of a fingertip down his nose. He knows where he is, he knows who this hand belongs to and he knows that he doesn’t mind being woken up like this. He’s warm under the comforter, and he knows it must be sunny outside because it feels like he will be blinded by light as soon as he decides to finally open his eyes. But he’s in no hurry.

“C’mon, I know you’re awake,” a very familiar voice says and he can’t help but smile, betraying the fact that he is indeed awake and that he heard the other person just fine. He blinks his eyes open, but most of the light is blocked by Daniel who’s next to him, propped up on one of his elbows, his face positioned in a way that it’s what Daehyun sees first. The way things are though, it looks like there’s a halo around Daniel and the rays of sunshine turn his hair into such a beautiful shade of brown. It looks soft.

“Hi,” he finally says, smile still not leaving his face and he gets an eye roll in return and a playful shove that makes him bite back a chuckle. “So, you like my nose?” he continues and that makes Daniel flop back down onto the mattress with a groan. “I was trying to wake you up!” Daehyun is not convinced and it shows on his face. “You’re aware there are more effective ways than that right?” He tells him. “Why? Do you want me to throw a bucket of icy cold water at you next time?” He shakes his head. “I’d rather you don’t.”

Daniel turns to face him, and they stare at each other, not saying anything and just…basking in the moment, in the stillness, in each other’s presence and the warmth. He wants to reach out, to brush his fingers over Daniel’s cheek, but he hesitates. He’s usually never hesitant about these things, but it’s different. Daniel is not a stranger, and somehow that makes it harder. Still, he eventually leans closer, and closer until his nose is bumping against Daniel’s one. He lets out a shaky exhale and then he’s closing his eyes again. “That’s the right way to boop a nose,” he murmurs, because speaking louder wouldn’t have felt right.

Sneaks up on.

“Which ones are you using again?” he asks as he squeezes his cellphone between his shoulder and his ear so he can reach out and grab one of the boxes from the shelf and turn it between his palms to inspect it closer. He remembers the color of the brand she uses because he’s seen the box in the cupboard under the sink before, but he doesn’t remember the type. He always forgets whenever she sends him on this kind of errands and since she doesn’t send him often, well, it makes sense for him to not remember from one time to the other. “Gotcha,” he says as he replaces the box on the shelf. He scans the rows of boxes until he finds the one he needs and he leans to pick it up. “Do you need anything else?”

He picks his phone back into his free hand before he can get a sore neck and he starts walking down the aisle, rounding the corner and walking until he finds the aisle with all the snacks and candies. She never asks him to buy him chocolate or anything like that, but he always gets her her favorites anyway. He tells her he’s going to see her soon and she thanks him before hanging up. He’s thinking about getting some candy for himself too.

He’s so deep in thoughts that he doesn’t hear the person sneaking up on him. He supposes that’s why it’s called ‘sneaking up’. But then someone is saying ‘BOO!’ not even loud enough to disturb anyone since they are in a store, but still loud enough for Daehyun to hear and startle so hard that he ends up dropping his phone (which he was still holding for some reasons), unto a pack of twizzlers, and he nearly hits the poor girl who had surprised him in the face when he whirls around and swings his arm with the hand that’s still clutching the box.

“Hyemin! Jesus, you scared me,” he wheezes, taking a moment to take a deep breath and retrieve his phone from the top of the candy bags. “But hi!” He pockets his phone and runs his now free hand through his hair before letting it drop at his side. “I’m sorry for scaring you,” she tells him even though there is an amused smile on her face and she doesn’t look sorry at all. “What were you doing?” she continues, leaning closer.

“Oh, just running errands for one of my best friends. I was about to pick some candy for her and myself. What about you?” He pauses and then adds, “Would you like some candy too, since we’re here?” He says that as if they are standing in a candy store and not in a drugstore. But hey, the offer still stood.

Winks at.

They had located their target. The boy had finally returned home, and it was time for them to put their plan into action. Karin silently motioned for him to follow her as she stood up from the couch. He did as well and together they walked toward the boy’s room as quietly as possible. “What is he doing?” she mouthed and Daehyun could only shrug because he had no idea what their roommate had decided to do after disappearing into his room.

It didn’t take long for them to reach the doorway and Karin slid down the wall, moving to peek inside. Daehyun stood right behind her and leaned forward so he was hovering above her and could also take a look inside the room. Their roommate was just resting on his bed with his eyes closed, but they could tell he wasn’t sleeping since his fingers were drumming on top of his comforter, following along to the music that was coming from his earbuds, no doubt. It was perfect, because that way, he wouldn’t notice them (or hear them) coming in.

“Ready?” Daehyun whispered and he leaned back when Karin moved to stand back up. She pumped her fist in approval. They nodded at each other and then stepped inside the room. They continued to be silent as Karin went straight for the side of the bed that was closer to the door while Daehyun headed for the other side. They grinned at each other, their roommate still completely oblivious to their antics, and then they suddenly climbed on his bed and hugged him from each side, locking him between their arms and legs.

“WHAT THE F…” the boy exclaimed as he was suddenly grabbed and jostled enough that his earbuds fell out. “What are you guys doing?” Sangwoon huffed as he tried to squirm away, only to have Daehyun and Karin hug him even tighter. “Giving you the love you deserve,” Daehyun said and when he glanced at Karin, she raised her hand to do the ‘ok’ sign and she winked at him. This mission was a success.

Growls at

Of all the things he expected to find in his bedroom after coming home just in time for dinner and a quick nap before having to leave again for work, Hana had not been one of them. So when he opened his bedroom door and stepped inside, tossing his backpack at the foot of his bed and pulling his sweater over his head before working on unbuttoning the shirt he had been wearing underneath, he didn’t immediately notice that something was not like usual.

It’s only after getting rid of his shirt and when he was in the process of getting out of his jeans that he happened to turn his head in direction of his closet and noticed the person standing there, one hand covering her eyes and a firm grip on one of his favorite hoodies. He…may have let out a scream that he would never admit came from his own mouth.

“What the fuck! Hana!” he yelled as he tried to pull his jeans back on and then he reached for his previously discarded sweater and put it back on. “What in hell are you doing here? Why are you in my room?” he asked, his heart now beating faster because not only he had been scared shitless, but also because he had been unknowingly undressing in front of his roommate’s little sister. This was just wrong.

She parts her fingers and lowers her hand when she sees that he’s dressed again. “I’m stealing this,” she replies, moving her hand that’s holding on to his hoodie and moves it so that the shirt is swaying from side to side. Daehyun blinks at her, trying to comprehend what she just said. Then it clicks and he frowns. “What? Why?” he can’t help but ask her because seriously, why? “C’mon, put it back where you took it,” he tells her because it really is one of his favorite hoodie. It’s peach-colored and too big for him, and so, so soft. He likes to wear it when he’s having tougher days.

He takes a step toward her with the intent of gently taking the shirt out of her hand, but then, a sound leaves Hana’s mouth, a low rumble that sounds a lot like…

“Did you just growl at me?” He exclaims in utter disbelief. Hana uses the opportunity to slip past him and edge closer to the door. “Hana, c’mon,” he insists and tries to follow her, but she bares her teeth at him and snaps her jaw as if she was going to bite him if he tried to get closer again. “Couldn’t you just go raid your brother’s closet?”

“My brother doesn’t own this wonderful item of clothing,” she replies as she slips through the door. Daehyun has just let out a sigh of defeat when he sees her head reappear in the doorframe. “By the way, you should probably invest in better underwear because seriously, what were those?”

It takes one second for Daehyun to remember just which pair of underwear he’s wearing exactly, and then even though Hana is already gone and he can hear her laugher in the hallway, he still yells, absolutely mortified, “IT WAS LAUNDRY DAY, OKAY?”

Pats head.

When Daehyun gets sick, he usually escapes the house and go find refuge at his mother’s house so he can eat her recomforting cooking and spend time with her when she returns from work. It’s also to avoid contaminating his roommates. He always returns once he feels better with food to share with his roommates.

This time when he gets sick though, he doesn’t get to go to his mother’s house because it takes all his energy to drag his sick self out of bed only to collapse onto the couch after having made a stop to the bathroom. He must have fallen asleep again because when he wakes up, it’s darker in the house. He groans, still feeling like there are knives in his throat, and he doesn’t know whether he’s feeling too hot or too cold.

He tries to turn to curl in on himself when he realizes that his head his actually cushioned on a thigh and then he feels fingers running through his hair and a palm gently patting his head and he huffs a sigh, letting his eyes flutter close again. The touch is comforting, even though he has no idea who it is. He should probably reopen his eyes and turn around to find out.

It’s with great effort that he does just that and finds out that Jangmi is sitting there on their couch with his sick self. “What are you doing here?” he croaks out. “Karin’s trying to make you porridge, so I offered to keep an eye on you,” she replies with a shrug of her shoulder, and she presses her palm against his forehead before carding her fingers through his hair again. “You’re burning up.” She comments softly.

“I should probably go get some medication then. I think we’re supposed to have some in the bathroom.” He’s not sure. But he doesn’t move in the end, can’t bring himself too when he feels so heavy it’s like his body is sinking into the couch cushions. What he does his close his eyes again and let the touch on his head lull him back to sleep.
