Two of wands

This is another entry for the Silent Hill tarot cards project. Again, if you are a SH fan check it out plsssssss!!!!!

The creator of the projects is @sameasthem so please show some love

The two of wands was a difficult thing for me to pin down because at first I couldn’t decide who I wanted to draw more, Laura or Douglas. This card’s theme is travelling and cooperation so it fits them both pretty nicely. But I thought it’s time for some diversity so let’s appreciate our girl Laura as the main character of this card. She represents abrupt decision making, sudden travelling and cooperation. Even though she was a little rough on James (totally deserved btw) in the end her role was essential in his journey of discovery.

Traditionally a person in the card is depicted facing the opposite of the viewer, so I have decided to keep it. Here Laura is standing on the high wall where she meets James. This wall metaphorically divides her life into two branching paths. Consistent with the typical reading of this card Laura has to choose her own path. The wand imagery is represented as two trees. Behind the trees there are her drawings which add a little light-heartedness to this depressing depiction to remind the viewer that Laura is a child and she is only at the beginning of her journey.

🚨Urgent🚨

As my children and I were getting ready for bed, we heard a commotion and calls from residents of the Al-Salam neighborhood urging us to evacuate.

The occupation forces had threatened to bomb the residential block where my children, husband, and I were displaced. We left our tent and fled into the street in the darkness of night to save our lives😭😭 amidst the screams of children and adults, a mixture of terror and panic gripping our hearts. A violent explosion shook the area, leaving behind immense destruction. 😞

Nothing is the same. 😭😭 Everything is destroyed. 💔😭
