Block 1 beta of Homestuck the Audiobook!

There's still a bit more work to be done with it, including some music to help alleviate the fact it's 11 minutes of talking!  You can feel free to download this, and provide feed back on what you do and don't like, as it IS still a beta!

I wanted to get this out so you guys could see that it is moving along, and things are getting done. It's just a rather slow pace as my work schedule is very taxing and doesn't leave much free time.

Narrator Announcement!

We have our narrator selected! I'm pleased to announce our narrator is Helioscentrifuge!  We have the Act 1 Ensemble, and I have begun work on editing and getting the first block made.  We've had a few unforseen roadblocks, many my own fault.  But we're getting things moving, and I hope the momentum continues!

And speaking of momentum, in an effort to keep things moving along, I'm going to open auditions for WV and Nannasprite now! I haven't yet done a second read through of Act 2, to see who all we'll need voices for, but I know those two we do need. So good luck to all those who audition, I look forward to hearing them!

Hello! I was wondering how I would go about auditioning for a role in this audiobook?

It's easy!  When a role you want to audition for is opened for auditions, (or sooner if you're impatient, I understand) you send it in to the email address given, or submit it here, and we'll review it along with the others!  Preferably, it would be the half of a log for the character you're auditioning for, with a link to the page the log is located on.

We've already filled the spots for the four beta kids, and the narrator, but once we release the first block, I'll be opening auditions for more characters, specifically Exiles and Nanna.

What is Block 1? Is that Act 1, or just some chunk of it?

A chunk of it.  If you go to the map on the MSPA page, you'll see the Acts are broken up into little "blocks"  These blocks are relatively small, and a great way to manage the release and work of the audiobook.

For example: Act 1 has 6 blocks. There will be 6 different parts released for Act 1.  Once they're all released, we will more then likely compile them into a single block for Act 1.  

The larger acts may be broken into smaller parts when finished  we'll see when they're complete.

We have received enough of the first block to begin working on it! It hopefully should be finished and released before the end of October! We can finally get the ball rolling! When Block 1 is released, we'll be opening another few auditions, so let your VA buddies know!

When are you going to open submissions for the trolls? I want to try out for Nepeta so badly!

Troll auditions will open in the order they appear, starting after act one. I'll be making announcements as to which roles are open as I open them.-Knerzig

Are we allowed to have multiple roles?

Yes! Provided you can sound different enough in those roles. If you're who we think is best, and you can sound different enough that logs between those characters can have them be telled apart, the I see no issue there.Some roles inheirntely come with multiple parts, such as Jade and Jadesprite, Dave and Davesprite, all the different Aradias, ect ect.I hope this answers you question.-Knerzig

Is there really anything there? On all browsers I have under Mac OS X 10.5 (Firefox, Chrome, Safari and IE) I see little white rectangles where I would expect to see an embedded media player for the recent auditions. Under what browser and platform are those links functional?

I am certain they work using chrome, with windows 7.
