This is from when I went to san juan puerto rico. It was an old war fort. I would consider this to be orientalist then such a style even though it is not from an eastern part of the world. There could be artists, designers or writers who come here to study what has happened down in the forts and even relate to ideas and get a better understanding of this part of culture.

This is lippit hall, it is near the top of campus. I believe that the school built these buildings to replicate a certain time period. If you look around at all the buildings on campus most of them have that historic look with the brick stone and half domes. To me this reminds me of the late 1800s. If you think back to the Renaissance this is how the architecture was designed because this is how castles were built. If you look at the new buildings being built around campus they are more eco friendly by using sleek glass instead of brick all around. Most of the buildings are styled this way because they were built back in the 1900s and brickbwas pretty much the only form of architecture.

Culture identification relys on design because we learn and understand people or certain things by designs, in terms of the way they dress or how the present themselves. Humans are all about design and culturism. I posted a picture of high too converse and high socks because wearing this can relate my design look maybe towards the 80s. High top sneakers and socks werr very popular back in the era. I have multiple high top sneakers that I pair with socks based on my design of choice. They are either black and white, all black or all white and they have the same texture.

This 3-D objectvis tangible and if it was a two demensional object you would not be able to open or slide it up and down. We would have to be careful with how we account the spatial differences in perception on the outside and inside of the object. For say this object had space to fit die inside when you open it up. A 2-D object has more unfettered space and freedom which you do not need supporting structures. As you take this object from a picture and create it into a 3-D image you have to becarful on how you deal with gravity, as you chose structures and how much space you should be using. If this object was drawn you might miss that it can be open and has an open space which is why if you used a media choice such as a modeling software system and then into a 3-D printer will help you realize that this piece is hollow.

This is a good design because of the layout and where it is in the library. It gives students a comfortable seating area while studying or doing homework. Sometimes students prefer to sit in an area like this instead of at a desk chair or table. I would explain it to a prospective by saying that this an optional lounge area for school work or to just sit around and hang with friends. It is a great area for socializing with others. Another important part of the design would be the different patterns on the couchs and how there is a place to rest your feet. The designer was probably looking to make the setting look more appoachable and comfortable.

We are looking at a cathedral ceiling which I see as a design problem. Since there is this big open space it doesn’t keep heat in and warm the room properly then it would being closed off. I would be inspired to try and make the living space warmer with heaters or completely close it off.  My first steps towards a solution would be to eliminate the open space or try an adapt to it in other ways
