Hometown Cha Cha Cha (2021) Starring: Shin Min Ah & Kim Seon Ho
“You said our first encounter was on the worst terms. Not for me though. I saw a woman on the beach that day. She sat there for a long time, but all I could see was sadness in her eyes. And I couldn’t get it out of my mind, so my eyes kept being drawn to her. But I never thought that I’d fall in love with her.”
KIM SEON HO as Hong Du Shik in HOMETOWN CHA CHA CHA (2021)
“Then today’s our first day as a couple, right?” “Well, I guess so.”
We’re dating!
Let’s keep it a secret. +Bonus: We are dating!
(Sorry, she tells him that.)
is this still about the kdrama? it's hometown cha cha cha, currently with 10 episodes, new episodes every saturday and sunday on netflix, 11pm KST.
it’s not your fault
“I’m not asking anything from you. I… My feelings for you keep inflating my heart, and it could burst at any second. I can’t help it anymore.”
Seriously….
So what are you gonna do now? About what? About tonight. Your place is now a crime scene. Oh, right…
I can’t deny it anymore either.
How does he warm our hearts like so?
I’m obsessed at how HomCha is giving us all these kdrama tropes and cliches we are all familiar with but is actually breaking the norm:
1. Do you like ramyeon? But with the male characters lol
2. Fake boyfriend but ML came clean to FL’s parent on the same episode
3. FL’s parent badmouthing/not approving of the ML, which he overheard - DuSik confronted HyeJin’s dad and was understanding of why he said that PLUS THE DAD APOLOGIZED (I can’t remember recent kdramas with the parent instantly apologizing to the FL/ML)
4. Stepmoms - Hye Jin’s was actually cool
5. Fake drunk piggy backride to escape socializing
6. FL and ML childhood connection - they met as kids, in HS too and a theory that even when they were in college/as adults (or every 7 years)
7. Main character with trauma - seeks professional help
8. Main characters insulting each other but owns up to their mistake and apologize right away
9. Nosy villagers - who will actually support the fake boyfriend situation for the 30% discount
10. ML come running to save/help FL but FL can defend herself just fine
11. ML catches FL when she slipped - he catched Ji PD and Hye Jin’s dad too
What did my dad say? [still in a daze] Pardon?
#hye jin defending du sik like there’s no tomorrow
