Hey history side of Tumblr, I came across this really interesting post a while back where someone detailed and sourced the writings of U.S. military officials from the World War II era. Essentially they revealed that the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki weren't actually necessary to win the war, but were more so done as testing opportunities for the atomic bomb.

I've been trying to find it again, but I've had no luck. If anyone knows which post I'm talking about, I'd really appreciate it if you could reblog or comment with info to help me find it again! Please and thank you!

On Saturday July 4th 2014, Sailor Moon Crystal made it's world premiere in celebration of the franchise's 20th anniversary! Can't believe it's been 6 years already!

I remember being so psyched and falling in love with it after watching the first episode. I would always look forward to the first and third Saturday of each month when the new episodes would premiere (I'd also be super bummed if there were 5 Saturdays in a month which means I'd have to wait three weeks 😭).

This show isn't perfect; I didn't think so then and I don't now, but I loved it regardless. I thought the animation was stunning at times, especially in season 2; I loved the character designs and art style since I thought they captured Naoko Takeuchi's style beautifully; the voice acting was phenomenal, and the characters were all so loveable.

Say what you will about the first two seasons, but Crystal's premiere is what really brought me back into the fandom and reawakened my love for the series as a whole. I can't tell you how amazing it was to see new Sailor Moon merchandise in so many stores since I got into the show just after it stopped airing on Cartoon Network.

I absolutely love the first two seasons to bits, and I'll always have fond memories of having my computer ready to stream the newest episode the minute it premiered on Neon Alley.

Sis and I were talking about how unfair it is that shojo manga frequently end up with incomplete adaptations

Like shonen manga adaptations get 5 seasons, 4 movies, video games on multiple platforms, light novels from other authors and sequels about their kids but shojo is just like “1 season, if you’re lucky 2 seasons but even then it’ll probably still leave things unresolved”

As a feminist, as a human, we the people of Iran are asking you to bring the voice of Iranian poeple to the world. They are blocking our internet access because people are protesting peacefully in cities, but they are arresting, torturing and beating young people in the streets. Saint Gertrude of Nivelles was a noble-born from saintly parents. At 10 she refused any and all marriage prospects. At 13, after her father died, Gertrude founded the Benedictine Abbey of Nivelles with her mother and was installed as abbess in 639. The Abbey’s hospitality welcomed travelers, wishing them no misfortune. She was a mystic, who helped the poor, elderly, and sick. Townspeople called her to ward off rat and mice infestation thus becoming the patron of cats. She died in March at age 33 after a life of prayer and penance, becoming the patron of gardens because of the prospect of fair weather.

This person has a point. Like this makes me so sad and scared for children now. I’m hoping the law catches up with the times and makes this illegal. Does anyone know if this is already illegal? Would this woman be able to sue whoever did this to her? If this is done to children will the creator and anyone who distributes it get arrested and thrown in prison?

Saint Blaise was a physician and bishop. During the persecution of Christians, he hide in the hills and cured wild animals of their illnesses. He was eventually martyred. The blessing of throats takes place on his feast day. Saint Blaise’s protection of those with throat troubles apparently comes from a legend that a boy was brought to him who had a fishbone stuck in his throat. The boy was about to die when Saint Blaise healed him.
