“It was an act of self-preservation — however misguided it was”.
One of the greatest joys of writing is to build in little references and facts and parallels and turns of phrase and layers and Implications that add up if you hold them in your head and turn them over and over until you've seen them from all angles, and then to get to see people do that turning-over-in-their-heads until all of a sudden they get it and they get to have that moment of ohhhhhhhh my god. One of the greatest joys of reading is to do that turning-over-in-your-head and combing through the text to try to find those little clues and put together what might be going on in the text that isn't immediately obvious at a glance. Getting to have that ohhhhhhh my god moment of understanding what is going on and how it all fits together and what it means is rewarding. It's one of my favourite feelings in the world.
I like my stories to come wrapped in elaborate lingerie and make me work to get them to take it off. I don't know what to do with people who are simply not interested in stories that don't walk out stark naked with everything on display.
seeing straight men be disgusted by booktok smut recommenders has actually radicalized me to the side of booktok smut recommenders. girls your taste may be atrocious but i will never disparage you for exposing mainstream discourse to the concept of soaking through your underwear. spent my whole life listening to men talk about penises it’s about time they get jumpscared by women talking about pussy in crude detail on social media. go forth and goon my warriors

Sometimes, I miss people that used to be in my life and feel the urge to reach out and tell them "hey I know we don't talk anymore but I still fold my sweater the way you taught me to". Not in a "I want you back in my life" way but more of a "my life has more colors now because of all the days we spent laughing together and I'm thankful for that".

Wow, that was such a beautiful and profound statement bro. Now say something reprehensible and trivialising.
