So... what happened to Natasha? She got turned into a Meowth! And now she's on a quest to undo the damage that's been done... Will she finally go on the "journey of a lifetime" that she was forced to abandon all those years ago? And what happened the first time anyway?
Asks and interactions welcome.
I Choose Human Prequel part 2 of 2
“There is no job. The camping season is pretty well over, so they’ve started letting staff go. I wasn’t the only one who lost a job.”
“Well, I find the best solution for the blues is to give someone else a little helping hand. Will you help me with my old machine? It’s on the fritz again, and this old man doesn’t have steady hands anymore.”
“I suppose, nothing else to do anyway.”
The professor led into one of the back rooms where a large generator stood quietly surrounded by newer machinery holding copious amounts of Pokémon. There was one in particular that was hooked up to special equipment.
“Aww, what’s wrong with this one?” Natasha ran her hands over the lid.
“That one is a special case. It was found inside its pokeball out in the mountains, and while Nurse Joy was able to expel the poison, it just seems to have deteriorated. She’s away on a retraining session so I offered to keep an eye on it.”
“Oh. Poor little guy, It’s not even moving.” Natasha turned around where the professor pointed under the generator.
“So I have this small wiring plate to go inside the panel, it should just fit right in where my grandson rewired. Everything is powered down, so you shouldn’t get a shock or anything.”
“Is this going to make your generator compatible with your newer machines or something?” Natasha slid under the machine and dusted off her hands.
“Yep, particularly the emergency capsule. I’ve got the wrench here.”
Neither one noticed the miasmic aura hanging around the dark corners of the room, wafting behind their heads. But when Natasha had just gotten the plate into place and began to secure it to the machine the zap occurred.
The miasma billowed out of control, causing the professor to cough and Natasha… well, something had certainly gone wrong…
Part One
I Choose Human Prequel part 1 of 2
It was for old-times sake. Natasha hadn’t seen the Pokémon lab in years, not since her first foray out into the world of Pokémon training. It hadn’t been easy, leaving her elderly pokemon at her grandmother's ranch, so she had gone back to the place where it all started.
The front room had a “wall of fame”, so to speak, with pictures of every child from this village on the first day of their adventure. Many of them had a cluster of photos, where the child had beaten all the gyms in the area, or championed in the league. Natasha almost avoided her own picture, in its solitary estate. Room had been left around it by an enthusiastic professor. It was now under threat of being overcome by her peer’s achievements.
Natasha reached up and unpinned it, placing the tack back in its exact spot.
“I would appreciate keeping the picture where it is, you know.” Said the professor.
“Sorry. I just dropped off my pal at my uncle's house. He can’t make the daily commute anymore. I must be an embarrassment.”
“Perish the thought. There’s no shame in admitting defeat now and again. Just don’t abandon your pal because he reminds you of your failure.”
“E-excuse you? I’m not abandoning him!”
The professor took the photo back gently, “So long as you see your past as a failure, you’ll never move forward. You will, unknowingly, become resentful towards your pal. The job isn’t going well, I take it?”
“There is no job. The camping season is pretty well over, so they’ve started letting staff go. I wasn’t the only one who lost a job.”
Part Two
Inspired by Mew-blogs, or other poke-blogs, here's my Artlocke! Is that a thing? Follow Natasha's unfortunate adventure after she accidentally gets turned into a pokemon! She must go on a quest to try to regain her humanity...
