He couldn’t help but be a little annoyed. He wanted to tell him to fucking relax and act like himself. It didn’t matter that they were to marry for the benefit of others, he’d like to at least get to know the man he was sentenced to spend the rest of his life with. And to see him so worried with pomp and circumstance…it just got under his skin.

“Why dont you show me where you like to spend your time?” It wasnt what he wanted to say but he was pretty sure if he said ‘get the fucking stick out of your ass dont you do anything for yourself’ his mother would literally have another child an pretend he didn’t exist.

Armin was almost appalled at the fact that he even really wanted to know more about him. It took him a moment to shake himself out of the shock, before a more genuine smile appeared on the blonds face. “I mean... I guess I could! I’m just.. a very simple person, is all I’m going to say.” He mentioned, before grabbing Jean’s wrist and beginning to drag him off. God he was so excited.

Every time he went to the huge library they had he couldn’t help but be ecstatic because it just was a place that he could relax in and do the thing he loved to do the most, which was read. It was something that he just did all of the time as a kid, and that continued as he aged. There were always downs with things that people do, and because he read so much it resulted in him having little to no friends, but... Armin didn’t mind. 

Once they arrived, there were two huge wooden doors, that lead to the library, and the small blond grabbed on of them and forced it open all of the way, before quickly moving and opening the other one all of the way as well. “It’s nothing special I guess.. but welcome to stop number one. My favorite place to be in. The library! There are all kinds of books in here and I am no where close to having read all of these, but I’m trying! I’m in the middle of a 9 book series and I’m on the final book and it is really good. Do you ever read? I mean... I can’t tell from appearances and I don’t want to judge based off of them either you know?”

           A faint sigh escaped her lips. “Heh, I joined the Scouting Legion a while ago, 2 years ago to be exact. Maybe you didn’t see me due my height.” She chuckled, trying to light up the mood. “You’re Jaegers friend, aren’t you? Stories about you are spreading around.” A faint frown appeared, though.  

          It would be the first time she would meet another survivor of the disaster 5 years ago in Shingashina. She placed her book onto the small table besides her, resting her legs against the armrest of the chair. “You guys were there, back then …“ She muttered. “I find it really brave of you kids to join the army. You have my respect, truly. I know what happened there… I’ve seen it with my own eyes…”  She sighed out.

                 The blond looked down at the unknowingly shorter brunette, taking a look at her features and trying to see if he recognized her, which he didn’t. 

              He felt himself blink when she asked him if he was friends with Eren, but contemplated about it for only a second, before understanding how she would know. He’s probably the most well known out of everyone and for the most part Armin was with him. It just depended on the time and place and what they were assigned to do. ❝ I don’t believe it’s because of your height, I’m not very tall to add on, and I was trying to look for something after all. I didn’t really consider that someone else would be in here. Most people are doing things other than read to waste their time. A lot of them are napping oddly enough.❞

                 The blond hadn’t expected for her to really know about the fall of Wall Maria, however of course she did. There just weren’t many that actually believed them when they said they were actually there when it occurred. It felt like it never happened, but at the same time he knew it had happened and it could potentially happen again. It almost did happen again. The way things work just was crazy in this world. He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, looking away from the female in front of him. ❝ I... I only joined the Scouting Legion because otherwise I would have been left to fend for myself with no one else left. I wouldn’t have been able to do it. Eren and Mikasa are all I have left.❞

Jean matched his pace with Armin; he didn’t know where he was and figured it best to let him lead the way anyway. Or mostly lead. And so he followed him, entering the foyer at his side and not doing much to take in what was the room. Other than that it was…big. He was sure if he wasn’t being forced into this he would care more. As it was he was trying his best not to be ‘…so honest’ as mother put it, with a crinkle of her nose.

“so do you have a first name, or should i continue to call you Ser Arlert?” He paused, bowing forward and smirking up at him with a quick wink. His normally playful personality only lasted for a few seconds before he remembered where he was and how unhappy he was about it, standing upright and clearing his throat, hands straightening his tunic; embarrassed.

The blond had noticed the brunet matching his pace, and began to feel a little better about the whole situation. As they entered he glanced around, noticing some of the servants hiding as to not bother them as he was shown around the kingdom. He had to restrain himself from laughing whenever he realized that the male next to him was speaking. “Oh..” Armin blinked a little, before letting out a small laugh in response to what the other had done. 

“I’m Armin.” 

Looking up at Jean, who was a little taller than him, he thought about the procedures his servants had gone over with him over and over about what he should do when he arrived. Considering the possibility of doing it out of order, he decided to go along with that. “Well.. one of the first things I’m supposed to do is give you a look at where you’ll be staying... I’m just not sure where to start is the problem. Anywhere you’d like to go?”

“But I do, I watch them and I saw the leaves in the books and stiff. They’re not dead so I think they’re ok, right?” Eren couldn’t read with they needed though. He couldn’t read. “Am I bed for catching bugs?”

“Well.. that may be true.. they may be okay for now, but I think you should let them out before it gets dark. They have homes too after all.” Armin gave the brunet a smile, ruffling his hair a little. “You’re not bad for catching bugs. I promise.”

“I always let em go,” Eren assured. “I never keep them over the night unless I forget.” Upon being told he wasn’t bad, Eren smiled warmly. “Ok, you’ll help me now? I think they miss their families.”
