These posts supposedly get around faster than usual graphic promotions…
SO–if you like atypical bards who like music and fun, Dungeons and Dragons, and all sorts of HOMEBREW stuff, like or reblog! I’d love to plot with you!
My boy is the last of his kind and is searching for answers as to why.. as well as complimenting friends along the way!
Villa - Lost
Villa’s Scar Detail
traitorousscales:
The flinch came as a surprise, so much so that the newest tongueflick stopped mid-air, leaving the tongue to hang out yet again. Eventually, it pulled back, bringing in the scent of…fear. Fear?
“Uh…I meant it when I said no pressure, ak’sshish-rim…” Teppet tried weakly, while also trying not to sound too hurt by the sudden shift in Villa’s behavior. “Can understand if you’d rather have a prettier tourguide. I know this catlady from the assassin’s guild, uh, or maybe I can ask the centaurs…”
{ ♫ ♩ ♬ } ~ ~ ~ “No, no.. it is alright. You are fine, I promise.. just..” Villa let out a sigh, sitting back against his chair as he tried to calm himself. “When I was little, I was adopted by my current family. I have no memory of anything before then.. so, they raised me.” The elf began to explain, now toying with his hair out of a nervous habit.
“As I grew older, I helped my mother in her Inn.. and my father with his growing merchant business.. One day, a hen got loose from his wagon and I chased after it. I got lost in the process, and..” He shook, gripping his hair tightly for a moment before continuing. “I heard something coming after me. I was afraid, and I ran into the nearest cave I could find out of fear.” He then pulled his hair back from his eye slowly, obviously a bit embarrassed.
“I had wandered into a basilisk’s den... and.. This is the price I paid.” A nasty scar, one that made him half blind. “I remember everything going dark.. and then waking up in the arms of some adventurers.. and losing the sight in this eye.” The bard paused, lowering his head apologetically.
“I am.. very sorry if I was rude.. but because of that, I am instinctively wary of anything snakelike. I swear it is not you.. I am trying very hard to get over this fear. I am older and much stronger now.”
Villa in his childhood. Such a sweet but shy boy. Always trying his best to help his family with the animals and keeping the inn.
Villa - Lost
willowdied:
oh shit…. well… this was sort of her fault. she should have paid just a little bit more attention to the road instead of scribbling away but alas, here she was having given herself away. really, she was just follow the road and wasn’t really on the run from anything, but still, she maybe should have been just a little bit more careful. lowering the notebook, jester found herself rather relieved that it was just tavern with no one threatening outside. she did, though, notice the elf, concern filling her face.
“ hello! why are you all chained up? and why do you look afraid? ” there was worry on the blue tiefling’s face, head tilting to the side.
{ ♫ ♩ ♬ } ~ ~ ~ Oh, thank goodness! A friendly looking face. “Ah, would you believe me if I told you that I have done nothing..?” The elf laughed softly, his ears lowering. “I was playing music in the tavern a town over, and well.. the next thing I know, I am being taken to the capital. The guard refuses to tell me why.” Villa wasn’t about to be rude, of course.. knowing that he could be hit quite hard if he disobeyed like the last fellow that was left in the town’s jail to rot away.
“I was afraid that there would be more trouble, but as it turns out, it is just a friendly face.. well--your face..”
traitorousscales:
“…I see.” At first, Teppet was about to say something else, about elves being regarded as noble regardless of their branch or family tree…but then he remembered how much he himself hated to be thrown into one pot with all the other tribes of Septarsis. So he kept his maw shut and just nodded instead. “Either way, travelling to seek answers is a noble cause all in itself. It must be hard.” Unlike his own reasons to travel.
A little silence followed, in which the Septarian slowly let his tongue loll out to lazily wave around the air for a bit, only to leave it hanging out - obviously lost in thought. “Well,” he eventually made, tongue sloooowly retracting, “If I learned one thing from my own travels into the blue is that you have two options. Either you choose a homebase from which to fan out your explorations, or you stay compeltely rootless. It’s up to you what you prefer. Hsssss…” Again the tongue flickered, but this time quicker. “What I mean to say is that there’s merits in either. But for starters, I could arrange for a more permanent lodging with the tavernlady for you. And I could take you around the area a bit.” Then he grinned.
“This old tavern-snake may not look like it, but I’ve been in your situation a long time ago. At that time, I had my wife to hold my hand. Well…sadly we can’t ask her to lead you around and gibber on about every little detail, but I can certainly try. If you’re interested, of course. No pressure.”
{ ♫ ♩ ♬ } ~ ~ ~ The elf flinched upon hearing the hiss, feeling a bit of a need to flee at the sound. He kept to himself, glancing to the other as he spoke. Rootless was fine with him. He always traveled light and enjoyed being like a leaf in the wind. It was natural for him.. keeping himself moving.. it was something he kept dear to his heart.
“The, ah.. The tour would be very welcome.” Villa tried to smile, pushing the fear down as much as he could. Snake. That’s what he was afraid of. He bit his lower lip, trying to stop the shaking in his extremities. “It.. it would be much appreciated.”
musecoven:
“Thank you!” She replied with a smile on her face. She always loved compliments even small ones. “I’m Eda the Owl Lady!” She replied as she continued to smile. “ and your name might be?” She asked politely.
{ ♫ ♩ ♬ } ~ ~ ~ “Villa Leagallow! Traveler to this new terrain. It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Eda! I must say, that fellow who was chasing you may not come back with how you skillfully escaped his grasp.” He gave a laugh as he placed a hand on his hip. This woman was quite the interesting person! From her golden hues to that gem on her chest, he had a feeling that it was going to be one heck of a ride!
traitorousscales:
“See? What kind of tavern helper would I be if I couldn’t hear rumbling stomachs from miles away?” Teppet laughed and handed the bard a generous chunk of soft bread and a bowl of soup before peeking at the tiny featherball on his head again. “Oh, that’s the first time I see a hummingbird up close and…calm. Gotta say though, you two make for quite the matching pair, heh.”
Still, the offer to pet him made his fingers twitch, but stay right where they were: At a safe distance. “Eh, better not. My claws are sharp, and he’s so tiny. Better not bring tools of destruction close to something so delicate.”
And he wiggled his claws at Villa, before bringing them down to skewer a roasted cricket on each claw and eating them with an audible crunch. “So, what brings a noble race such as yourself to the outskirts? They almost took you for a disguised elite soldier, y’know , with how much magical energy you radiate. Thank the ancestors the limegrub brew toned it down a tad.”
{ ♫ ♩ ♬ } ~ ~ ~ “I.. do not know about being a ‘noble’ race.” He muttered in reply, petting the head of his beloved companion. Flitt squeaked in a saddened tone. “I do not know much about my own kind. I have seen other Elves.. but none like myself. I am searching for answers. That is why I travel.”
Villa sighed quietly before placing the little bird on his shoulder. Looking to the food, he held it idly, wondering about his next move. “I am.. also new to the outside world as I have been in the Eldergleam forest for quite some time. Everything is.. new to me. I feel like an infant with how strange it all is to me.” It was almost heartbreaking, really.
promiseofdawn:
Truth be told, Kithri didn’t have a good reason to be in the stables, especially since her mount is more of a spirit than actual living animal (and is also notoriously crabby), but she needed a break from all the racket in the inn, and the stables seemed silent enough for her to decompress.
The half dragon grumbles to herself as she enters the stables, taking a moment to stretch and yawn loudly. She doesn’t notice the bird and the bard just yet, so she isn’t trying that hard to be quiet.
{ ♫ ♩ ♬ } ~ ~ ~ He stirred, grumbling lightly as his ear twitched. Noisy.. He glanced up and stretched. “..you know.. it is very rude to disturb the ones sleeping.” The bard kept his voice down as to not startle the other. “..I would appreciate it if you kept it down a little, please.”
traitorousscales:
“Recharge? Without dinner? I can hardly imagine how that goes down.” The Septarian smiled, tail once again used to close the door and sit on the foot end of the bed with the tray on his lap. “You did good tonight, of course I am obliged to return the kindness. Though I have to say that it was quite a gamble, using magic in front of those who learned to fear it in every shape or form.”
Sorting the bowls on the tray, Teppet took one of the steaming soup bowls for himself and pulled the bread into two halves, only to stop mid-way when he spotted something tiny. “Oh, that’s an unusual little travel companion,” he commented with a nod to the sleepy little thing, not wanting to scare it with his monstrous looks. “Had I known, I’d have brought some of the grub cookies. Didn’t want to force ‘em onto you, but I have some crickets to put into the soup, if your little friend wants them.” And he chuckled. “You’re of course free to help yourself as well, but don’t feel obliged to.”
{ ♫ ♩ ♬ } ~ ~ ~ “I was just thinking about getting something to eat.” He mused happily, perking as the other spoke of his feathered companion. “Oh! You mean Flitt? He prefers nectar.. Hummingbird diets are very fickle. Though, too much sugar or nectar tends to make him restless.” He reached up, nudging the bird with his finger. The tiny bird fluffed it’s feathers, nuzzling to the warm touch.
“I have had him for a long time.. poor thing fell out of his nest. His matem did not want him anymore.. so I took care of him. Took a shine to me ever since.” He smiled softly, willing to eat whatever the other had brought him. He wasn’t very picky.. maybe it was because he was taught to appreciate everything in life.
“You can pet him if you like.”
{ ♫ ♩ ♬ } ~ ~ ~ “I am sad..” Everyone else is having hugs!! Why can’t he have any?
@willowdied
{ ♫ ♩ ♬ } ~ ~ ~ Apparently this town wasn’t very friendly to new travelers. He had sat in the back of a topless wagon, a guard parking it at the nearest tavern before getting out of the driver’s seat and heading inside. The elf sat with chains on his wrists as he kept his head down. His robes.. his hat.. even his lute had been taken from him. Damn anti-soul binding magic.. He thought to himself.
Hearing a twig snap, his ear twitched. A stranger? Oh, no.. please, no more trouble.. He hoped.
[ So what's your bard's favorite types of songs/genre of music to sing & listen to 0u0? ]
{ ♫ ♩ ♬ } ~ ~ ~ He loves folk songs, songs with a great beat to dance to.. hell, even some that could ease people's spirits after a long day.
{ ♫ ♩ ♬ } ~ ~ ~ Everyone talking about v-cards... Interesting.
