Hell yeah, here with more so called swapfell hot takes, or more like swapfell and fellswap ye
I do not understand why people have such a hard time seeing the difference between Swapfell KH/Purple (the original Swapfell), Swapfell Red, (the assumed original take on how them sf bros used to be most commonly drawn) and Fellswap Gold, that is pretty much it’s whole own damn thing!
I seriously do not get it, while also like I kind of do? Because to my understanding this like massive confusion mostly stems from the fact that most people do not know about the original Swapfell, that is mostly called Swapfell KH or purple nowadays, that was created by someone called Khoophang, prolly misspelled, that was a Alphyne/AlphysXUndyne, focused au, it’s where the whole crazy scientist sf Undyne originally comes from.
And the creator didn’t get around to make their take on the bros before the fandom ran away with it and made their own takes, the creation of the whole angry tyrant sf snas and his dog and brother sf pap etc, some drama happened I don’t fully remember and the original creator left, but they made their take on the bros which then ended up getting uh fuck what’s the word, forgotten? They didn’t get popular except for the fontcäst circles more with the Papyrus from it, but the rest of the fandom who aren’t into it like did not get to see them or missed them completely.

This was before they found out that there was actually a original creator of Swapfell Red, which you guys most likely have seen around the place as they are still active.
Either way there is such a difference when it comes to how they look and I keep getting so confused as to why people find it so confusing!
Original Swapfell/Swapfell KH/Purple, got them in purple, the Pap got yellowish bone and usually a eyepatch, with pink in his sockets and sandals with socks and a purple hoodie, while his brother is usually dressed in gray and have crazy purple eyelights that are like triangles and mismatch. The Pap is usually nicknamed Cash or Money, while the snas the most common is Grape.
Fellswap gold got the snas as the older brother, he is the one people usually base their own takes on sf snases overall on nowadays, captain of the guard, military man and looking scary af, usually nicknamed Wine, have one eyelight usually and have this massive red scarf. While his brother is the one who have those braces on his teeth, is this shy and anxious looking guy with a hoodie that changes text, is usually nicknamed Coffee.
The Swapfell Red one is by Swapfellred-byziznine, that is assumed to be the original but I am just not sure, but they got the whole sf Pap in that jacket as shown above and so on, that has been the most common way to portray him and I am unsure if they truly are the original creator of that design or not.
These 3 are the so called main ones, that got their very distinct design, except for SF Red who is hella easily mistaken for everyone’s else take on the bros, or the older takes at least, as this one I do get why people would get confused about, but the other two I do not! There is such a massive af difference between them and I get more confused over how you can get so confused xD
But also I am like overly uh knowledgeable about this stuff, I know this and have read up so much about it etc, so I guess it is prolly part of my confusion at others confusion about it haha!
Anyway, I have rambled on too much about this I feel, this wasn’t supposed to get this long but couldn’t help it! It’s one of these things that just bothers me because there is such a massive difference between these au’s and boys, and yet I hear over and over again how people can’t tell them apart even though while they often share like the same name and kinda concept, so are they completely different xD
