Sam smiled as he felt her energy behind him. “Hey . I have a question. Why was it me that you fell for? Usually women prefer my brother. Especially after meeting both of us.” This was a question that had been on his mind. He was not angry just curious.

Sam chuckled at her reaction. He loved teasing her. She was a safe place. She was home. When did he start feeling that way about her? Yes they had been dating officially for almost a year, but this feeling was one a whole new level. He smiled when she returned. “That tea smells amazing.”

"and it's ideally gonna knock you out" she said her bare feet padding gently across the floor with a fairy-like step. She set the cookies beside the tea and immediately sat straddling his lap. "No more solo hunts. You did good this time but I'm so serious right now. It's either I or Dean go with you and I know for a fact Dean will have my back on this one don't make me use your brother to gang up on you" she pouted a bit before gently running her fingers through his hair softly massaging his scalp to help with the stress of the case. "I know what I signed up for when dating you, hell it's a miracle you didn't kill me when you found I was a witch but you're getting a little reckless here Sam.... remember you have something to come home to now"

Sam sighed. Deep down he knew she was right. She was also quite capable to handle herself on a hunt. “Well you are not the only Witch we have worked with/let live in the past. You are most certainly the hottest though.” He moaned softly at her fingers in his hair. “I probably should shower. You can join me if you like.”

She continued to move her fingers and applying pressure in certain areas letting his head relax and fall into her hands as her magic seemed through her fingers and taking a calming affect on his mind. She felt she should be firm but seeing him in this particular position was making her resolve slowly slip. "Very tempting offer" she purred as she leaned in gently kissing his lips. "Nice deflect...you win for now, let's get you clean" before kissing his lips once more.

Syn glared at him a bit before cutting her eyes to the little girl asleep twitching likely from nightmares already. She frowned and her heart softened but she turned back to Sam. "Don't think for one second you're off the hook or something" she was having a hard time staying mad. She went over to the small girl and gently woke her up. "Hey sweetheart, I'm sorry I know you were sleeping but I gotta check on you, my names Synthia what's yours?" She gently eased the little girl up who slowly wiped sleep from her eyes. "Alice," she muttered softly looking up at her with big blue eyes. Synthia grinned warmly. "Well that's a very pretty name tell me Alice do you like rabbits?" She asked as she got her up slowly walking with her to the infirmary while her magic conjured a small white long haired rabbit to hop slowly after them.

Once Synthia checked her vitals and made her she was okay and put her to sleep in a spare guest room with the rabbit sleeping with her as well. She went and found Sam in their shared room and leaned against the door frame. "Alice Fitzpatrick is her name, she's from Texas and as far as she knows her parents are alive and she's been ugh that pack for 3 days. Surprisingly she wasn't bitten. Sick fucks were saving her like a bottle of wine" she sighed explaining what she found out to him. "You saved her life Sam, which is what you do I just" she took a deep breath. "I don't know it was a close call I don't like you out there by yourself"

Sam looked up from bandaging himself. “I was lucky and only half the nest was there. The others were out. I will look up where her family lives so we can get her home soon.” He stood up a bit wobbly.i know you don’t and I’m sorry, but with Dean down there isn’t any other way. Monsters don’t take vacations.” He walked over to her. He placed a finger under her chin lifting it into a soft kiss.

Syn kissed back softly. She wanted to stay mad. She knew she should stay mad but seeing him all war hero like and the gentleness of his hands and his lips were making it very hard. "You know that's not fair right" she poured a bit softly.

“Oh I am very aware of how unfair it is. I learn from the best.” He playfully booped her nose as he referred to her. He enjoyed teasing her. She made him feel ‘normal’. It was something her desperately needed. “Let the girl rest and gain her strength back here than we can take her home.” The “we” referring to Syn joining him. The other half of the vampire nest would have to wait to be taken care of later.

Syn sighed and rolled her eyes. "You're unbearable sometimes you know that?" She lied. She ushered him towards his bed. "Fine, let her rest and eat something, but can I be your girlfriend and now and fret over you? You know the one with reckless abandon?" She said pushing him down gently. Really she just didn't want to have to look up at him. If she had much longer she'd probably fall to her knees. She wanted to at least pretend like she had some kind of control.

He nodded as he let her have some control. Their relationship worked well. He didn’t mind giving up control and she enjoyed having it. So much when into his life as a Hunter. “I thought you were already acting like the perfect girlfriend as soon as I walked in the Bunker?” He laid down on the bed. So my lady I think you have me confused for someone else.” He walked over to his pure black Horse and tightened the saddle. “The bigger and more important question is… what is a lady like yourself doing out her in this forest?”

Synthia bit her lip looking over her shoulder her anxiety bubbling. She knows the royal court must have been searching for her by now. "Never mind that my lord, if you are a soldier like you claim that must mean you will be more than willing to get to the village of wall before a fortnight for the right price?' she was trying, key word TRYING to be convincing. However it was not lost on her the way his hazel eyes shined beneath the peaking sunlight through the trees.

“I slept enough. “ He answered honestly. He pointed in the direction of the river. “ It’s that way. Don’t worry I can hear you if you need help and I will be there quickly. However, it is enough privacy for you to relax.” He tried to reassure her.

Synthia bit her lip looking over her shoulder her anxiety bubbling. She knows the royal court must have been searching for her by now. "Never mind that my lord, if you are a soldier like you claim that must mean you will be more than willing to get to the village of wall before a fortnight for the right price?' she was trying, key word TRYING to be convincing. However it was not lost on her the way his hazel eyes shined beneath the peaking sunlight through the trees.

He over looked the fact that the branches were wet. He hoped she did as well. “Of course. If you were not able to trust me I would have all ready returned you for the hefty reward I am sure is being offered.” He ate a strip of the meat as well. “Do you still have that necklace I gave you on your 13th Birthday? That was a promise to protect you, Synthia. I’m sorry that circumstances have made it so I strayed from that oath.” He unwrapped then wrapped his forearms in a cleaner cloth that he had stored in his satchel. His forearms bore the consequences of learning fire magic. It certainly was not the kindest of the elements. This the reason other Mage’s never bothered learning it. To him it felt like a friend and a few times got lost in the feeling.

“ You can trust me. Besides who will I tell? You found me out here on my own.”

Syn bit her lip and pulled the long chain she kept hidden in her corset beneath her stays and pulled out the red stone he had given her. "I've never taken off admittedly. It was the only thing that wasn't given to me out of trying to sway my favor." She looked at it fondly feeling the weight of it even if just energetically speaking. "My uncle is married to a star, I know I can be safe with her if I hide behind her light"

He smiled seeing the necklace had been well taken care of. “Then I know our reunion was fate. It will continue to protect you. Especially when I can’t. “ He finished wrapping his arms. “Your Uncle? Right. I can get you to Wall. However….. “ on his cheeks a slight pink hue started to form. “ I have a spare change of clothes. They are clean and a bit big for you, but should still work temporarily. You need to leave the dress and corset behind. Respectively it screams royalty, Princess.” He held out said clothes and looked away. “ Just toss everything into the fire when you are changed.”

Syn swallowed hard and took the clothes from him slowly set them in her lap and began to fidget with a frayed edge of lace. She was finally saying goodbye to the only life she's ever known. She stood and turned to him. "Could you....could hold the cloak up like a wall?" She asked gently handing him the cloak he had lent her. She needed both hands to undo her corset. "Unless you're willing to help undress a princess?" She asked in a sarcastic tone rolling her eyes at the thought of him stepping up to do so. She didn't get the kings guard energy from the knights and soldiers of the palace. They were all live fast and die young. Sleeping with hand maids and spending their time in brothels.....Sam was different....he was more gentlemanly.

Sam had been to a Brothel a few times. However, it was only to fetch his assigned Knight. He frowned at the memory. Dragging and unwilling and drunk man home was quite a monumental task. Especially for a boy. He held up the cloak as requested. “Of course. I apologize that I did not think of this sooner, Princess.” He still turned his head away from her direction to give her even more privacy.

Synthia smiled softly and turned away from him facing the trees she started to undress herself taking everything off but her stays. She couldn't bare to part with them. She still had a small manor of pride. She slipped the clothes on he gave her and softly chuckled at how the clothes seemed to swallow her. "Thank you Sam truly" she said gently taking his hand down to let him know he didn't have to hold "the curtain" up anymore

He smiled seeing her in the simple clothes. “Once we get into town we can look for something that fits you better. However, for now at least those won’t fall off you easily. He put the cloak back on her for the finishing touch. “Why don’t you get some sleep and I will keep watch.” He was used to going a day or two without sleep.”

Synthia smiled softly at him. Memories came flooding her mind seeing him within the palace walls. They were just children. Then farther back at the market when she was even younger. She searched his eyes like she was trying to piece together a complex puzzle. "The boy.....the boy with the apple in the market" she tilted her head before shaking away the memory blinking it away. She gave a weak proper smile. "Apologies" she cleared her throat. "Before I do sleep you must not call me princess obviously but Synthia is not that common of a name in the kingdom either....you can call me what my brother calls me! Syn" she smiles confidently

He nodded and smiled at being allowed to call her by her nickname. Old habits die hard. “Syn… right. I will try to remember that.” He laid down a blanket for her to sleep on. “Here. It’s close enough to the fire do you to keep warm and dry. I will keep the fire going as well all night.” He never forgot her kindness that day in the market. She would never know how much that apple meant to him, the gesture even more so. The days following within in the castle walls were made difficult because of his studies and trainings, but she eased it a small bit. He pulls his sleeves down instinctually hiding the burn scars even more so.

Synthia caught his adjustments and she saw the burns. She kept this observation to herself. "That you Sam. You have no idea what this means to me" she said sincerely before laying down at drifting to sleep. Not with ease however. The crackle of the fire was the only thing that was able to comfort her. She was outside, On the ground, with no pillow and worst of all no incense. Only the fire. It was difficult to find the sandman but once she did she the adrenaline rush finally crashed.

The next morning she woke up to the sounds of the birds chirping in the sun shining barely coming over the mountains and leaking through the trees. She sat up peaking through the leaves letting the sun hit her face and she breathed in the air around her. Okay maybe sleeping outside wasn't so bad if this is how you wake up.

Sam was able to catch a few hours through the night after setting some magical alarms if anything came near them. He disarmed them before she woke. “Sleep okay? I know the ground isn’t a soft bed. “ He offered her another piece of Deer Jerky. He certainly needed to stock up on necessities once they got to the village. “ There is a river nearby if you want freshen up before we get back on the road.”

As they rode his mind went to his childhood. More specifically the day he had met her. He had been in the Market pick pocketing unsuspecting travelers for the entire afternoon. However, he never got enough to buy what he wanted. A fresh red apple for his mother. So he resorted to stealing. He reached up to pluck an apple from the stand when a girl in very fine clothing handed him hers while shaking her head quietly. He ran off with his prize.

A week later his mother had died and his drunk father noticed him lighting a fire to keep warm without any tools. He sold him off to his mentor with in the castle walls. There he secretly learned magic while also learning to fight with a sword. He served as Page boy as well as anything else those he served came up with. That was when he saw the girl again and swore to repay her for her kindness one day. He even gifted her a necklace with a fire red Ruby in the middle of a flame pendant as protection for her 13th Birthday. However those days were short lived. His mentor was betrayed and slayed in the night. Sam had no idea by who so he joined the Soldiers to learn who and get revenge.

‘She doesn’t recognize me. That makes this easier.’ To be fair he didn’t recognize her at first either. “It’s no problem at all. I was going there anyway, remember? Plus you are already on my horse. It would be more of a hassle to take you back now.” It started to lightly rain. He put her hood up followed by his own. “Sorry Princess. I can’t control the weather. The way he said princess made her freeze. Her breathe hitched as the memories of his eyes came into her mind like a delayed download. "You're the boy from the palace aren't you? The page boy?" She asked softly as she pulled her hood up and tighter around her. Oh her escape plan has gotten much....much more complicated.
