Be leery of women who fish for compliments and praise, but never compliment or praise other women.
Be leery of women who bad-mouth other women for doing what they’ve already been guilty of.
Be leery of women who play the “I’m not like other girls” card when describing themselves. It could be a sign that she’s an elitist asshole who doesn’t value the various gifts and talents of different kinds of women.
Avoid women who are preoccupied with being perceived as superior to other women.
Be leery of women who fish for allies to agree with them, rather than a solution to a conflict. It means they are more concerned with being liked than being mature.
Be leery of women who don’t acknowledge what they’ve done and apologize to other women when they’ve wronged them in some way. That means they are either oblivious or an abuser.
When in a group, be leery of women who are more concerned with looking like the “cool chick” and having a good time, rather than your safety if you feel threatened or violated by someone.
Be leery of women who set a more favorable and patient standard for men, and who always seem to value their opinion more than a woman’s.
Avoid women who don’t think transwomen are real women. Being a woman is more than what’s between our legs. It’s state of mind and soul, not biology.
Protect your heart from women who prude shame, slut shame, and make biased judgements against women based on race, sexuality, and social class. Remember, not all misogynists are men. In some instances, women have the potential to do more damage against you than any man could. Surround yourself with women who will uplift you, not passive-aggressively behave as though you are their competition as they fake your friendship. “Frenemies” is a played out and dangerous concept.
On the flip side, sow a seed and uplift other women. You don’t have to agree with them, but a little respect and kindness go a long way.
