Yoongi had never met another of his kind before. Sure, he’d learned to control the powers that haunted him for most of his life, but that didn’t mean he became any more social than he’d ever been before. He preferred not talking to people unless they actually interested him. If they didn’t interest him, he’d let one of his other group members talk to them if they were around and keep to himself. If no one else was around, he tended to let the idle conversation drift off into awkward silence when he didn’t particularly care for someone enough to actually attempt conversation. However, the moment that he saw a familiar face nearby, Yoongi’s interest immediately peaked. Not only had he seen the male before after performing and covering one of their songs with his group, but there was something about him… He felt different. Clearly not human, but… Almost familiar as if they were the same species, not that he was going to bring that up first, anyway.
“Hey, I’ve seen you before. Didn’t your group cover one of our songs? You guys did pretty good. Actually, I was impressed… And normally I’m bored enough to just zone out until the entire award show performances are over…” It wasn’t a secret that Yoongi always looked bored with everyone else’s performances there. He’d rather be sleeping or writing songs, anyway. Why would he be happy about having to watch others when he could be doing something much more important.
Award shows weren’t really Yeosang’s thing. The mingling. The pressure to be the greatest performance possible while cheering on other idols but deep down wanting to do better than all of them... It was exhausting. Not to mention the stress of waiting to see if they even got an award. Not that the basilisk was expecting to. If he didn’t go there looking forward to it, if they didn’t win he’d have come to terms with it already, but if they did he’d get to be pleasantly surprised. While others in his group were off wherever they may be, no doubt talking to friends in other groups and getting themselves into trouble Yeosang was on his own, just quietly sticking to himself. Until someone started talking to him. Slowly the male’s eyes flickered over to the source of the voice, eyes widening the slightest bit in surprise when he saw who it was. The basilisk had always been level headed, not easily flustered or undone by emotions, honestly if anyone were to have one of the members of the boygroup they all looked up to, thank god it was him. At least he could talk without stumbling over his words. ‘Now, come on Yeosang, smile. Actually smile, don’t just do your non-smiling smile.’ He thought to himself, forcing his lips to change from their usual stoic position into a more friendly looking smile as he dipped his head down in a polite bow.
“Thank you. Yes, we did cover one of your songs, I’m glad we could make a good enough impression that you remembered it.” The rest of his group was going to freak when he told them about this. Yeosang opened his mouth to say something else, the words catching in his throat as he finally picked up on something his shock hid from him earlier. Yoongi... He felt.... Like his own kin. Too much like them, actually. Head tilting slightly in question, Yeosang barely forced himself to keep his curiosities at bay for the sake of saving face. He didn’t know if Yoongi wanted him aware of their similarity, or if that was even something he’d be willing to talk about. He could just be here to compliment their performance and nothing more, and honestly the last thing Yeosang wanted to do was say the wrong thing and make a member of one of the biggest boybands in the world hate him and his entire group. “All of us are big fans of your music, so we were all happy to be able to perform a song from someone we look up to so much. We were just honored to be able to do it at a stage you’d be at as well.”
