sometimes the world is too big and too loud and too scary for a dog. sometimes you just need to bury yourself under some blankets and curl up with your tail around you and remember that you’re just a creature.

baby pumpkin tips: dealing with bad thoughts.
despite being icky, sadly bad thoughts are very common in our every day lives. our whole days can sometimes be ruined by one single mental comment- so i’m here today to hopefully help turn that frown upside down <3.
-> admitting that it’s okay.
we tend to ignore our feelings rather than embracing them because believing a lie is easier than facing the truth. but to get through these bad days we need to admit to ourselves that having bad days is okay. we’re human, we’re allowed to feel sad sometimes. we shouldn’t hold ourselves to these ridiculous high standards like we’re robots, it’s totally okay not to feel okay for a bit 🧡.
-> letting it sink for a while.
let those feelings in, put down the walls and stand down your guards. let your tears run down your cheeks and let yourself mourn that person or that piece of bad news. we need that to survive, we need that emotional reset to let out all that negativity in order to get better. bottling it down and ignoring it will only make the future meltdown worse 🧡.
-> picking yourself back up.
this is when the challenge occurs, picking yourself back up off the floor. believe me, i know it’s tough and i know it’s incredibly difficult, but you deserve to have a life. you deserve to be somebody, to make choices, to fall in love, to live your own version of a happily ever after. and i promise you can achieve that, but you need to pick yourself up off the floor first, okay? 🧡.
-> getting stuck into distractions.
distract your body for a minute so your mind has a moment to catch up. get stuck in different hobbies: learn how to paint, make a sculpture, sew some fabric, take some pictures. do the small things that you love to help pick yourself back up, i promise you’ll be back to dancing before you know it.
-> enjoying nature.
take a moment for yourself to go out and enjoy something in nature: sit & read a book, go flower picking, go on a hike, go on a small walk, go jogging- do anything to get some fresh air! my favourite thing to do is to sit on my balcony and paint the sunset or read a book <3.
-> not hating yourself for not getting it perfect first time around.
we’re not robots okay? you’re not going to be perfect the first time around- but just by simply giving it ago proves to me how strong and brave you are. we all sink sometimes, myself included. but it’s the digging and climbing out tooth & nail that makes us the strong people we are 🧡.
always remember to keep smiling, keep trying & keep being you, because there will never be another one of you, ever. <3
please remember that no matter how long journey of healing takes that i’m super duper proud of you 🧡. you work so hard and are so deserving of that happily ever after.
