It was no secret to anyone who knew Jimin, and maybe to a few who didn’t, that he wasn’t particularly fond of any type of anti-mutant laws, mutant maltreatment, or anything that attempted to cause the drift between “us” and “them”. He was vocal and he wore his political shirts almost every day of the week sometimes even during his weekend leisure time.

Because of this Jimin ended up being the “go to” person for a lot of the events that happened on and around campus. So, it wasn’t unusual to have someone approach him and ask him if he knew any details about this or that event. He didn’t mind though, he was more than happy to know that there were other people who thought like him and supported the cause.

This time it was no different, giving the other student one of his soft smiles he nodded as the student recited back to him the details of the event. “Yup! That’s right, hope to see you there.” The other student laughed and nodded before he started walking off “Trust me, you’ll definitely see me at the protest! I’ll even take some friends!” His words made Jimin grin as he reached down to pick up his backpack off the ground, pleased he had managed to convince someone else to go.

"I don’t know. But I’m trying to find out, okay?"

Jimin smiled a bit confused by the girl’s response to hisquestion. She didn’t seem to be paying too much attention to him so for a momenthe wondered if she had heard him wrong. But then again, her response couldeasily fit his “How are you?”. So, he sat back and began to pull out a notebinder out of his backpack along with his own laptop.

He usually didn’t go to the library to study, but usuallyhis classes weren’t cancelled. He felt odd in a way because he was so used tobeing busy especially in the mornings, but then again, an hour and some minutesweren’t enough to really throw him off. Either way it wasn’t enough time forhim to head back to his dorm room do anything and come back. So, he settled fortyping up his notes from his earlier lecture, if anything if he finished themearly it just meant he could relax earlier and enjoy the weekend.

The aggressive typing from Eunbi seemed to settle down, he lookedup in time to catch her gaze and smile. “Did you figure it out?”

"You seem kind of— I mean, lately. Lately you’ve been—"

It was rare when Jimin decided to study anywhere besides thecomforting confines of his room. But Sohee had managed to convince him to takesome time out of his day to somewhere that wasn’t surrounded completely by concrete.But the courtyard had concrete going through it so he wasn’t all convinced itwas that much different. Except for the fact that it wasn’t as warm outside asit was in his dorm room, oh well he’d have to live with that.

So, he found himself waiting for her to show up so theycould hangout, study and have and impromptu picnic. To distract himself why hewaited he decided to mark with page flags how much of the book he had to read.He groaned when he realized it was well over half of the book and that would bejust the first half of his assignment, he’d still have to write the required critique.Nibbling on his bottom lip he ran a hand through his hair, accidentally leavingit standing up in disarray.

To comfort himself he reached for one of the coffees he hadbought and brought it to his mouth when he heard someone calling him. He lookedover and ended up spilling some coffee on his pants (but luckily not his book)making the smile he had been directing at Sohee look a lot more like a grimace.Her following words weren’t the usual greeting so to lighten up the mood beforeit got dark, he laughed and attempted to pull on a beanie with one hand “Stressed?Yeah” he laughed lightly finally setting the cup down “yeah it’s the stress.”

"I guess I was wrong earlier—I don’t know. Weird, right?"

Jimin laughed brightly, none too gently crashing againstJihoon’s side as he struggled to control his laughter. His body shook and hishands were brought up to his face in an effort to hide his reddening cheeks. “Hyung”Jimin managed to breathe out before he fell into another fit of laughter, thistime he had to actually stop and lean against the other to brace himself beforehe was literally on the floor laughing.

“Hyung” he breathed out again once he was able to reduce hislaughter to light giggles “Hyung… I seriously haven’t had that much fun indays! I’m so glad you got the dates wrong!” Straightening up Jimin ran a handthrough his hair, pushing his hair back for a bit before letting it fall backonto his face.

“I mean seriously think! We could’ve missed that amazingdrag show!”

"It’s awful when you can see the reason for someone’s feeling toward you while knowing wholly that they’re wrong."

Jimin was having trouble keeping up his customer servicesmile as a customer kept complaining to him about the increase in price of herfavorite drink. Some sort of fruit drink with chia seeds that Jimin would nevertouch because the texture reminded him too much of cold porridge. Just thethought of drinking it had Jimin zoning out and mentally shivering as heimagined the sticky cold texture going down his throat.

Despite her complaining the girl put the drink down on thecounter and pulled him out of his thoughts. She seemed to be waiting for him tosay something so he just gave her an apologetic smile and rang up her items. “Thankyou for coming!” he said as brightly as he could as she all but snatched the receiptfrom his hands and stormed out.

He sighed to himself and moved to go back to gather hisstuff since his shift would be over soon. The voice caught him offguard and he jumps a bit before offering the other a sheepish smile. “Right?You’d think people would know that I’m just an employee and don’t actuallycontrol the prices. But hey what can I do?” Setting his stuff back down he walks backover to the other “Did you need help with anything Jaebum-shi?”

Run too fast or too slow

“And that’s all for today, remember to read chapters...” the professor continued to speak but his words fell onto deaf ears as his students started packing their belongings away eager to leave. None more so than Jimin who had shoved his books away five minutes before the professor dismissed them and was well on his way out of the lecture hall as soon as the professor had said “that’s”. It wasn’t because he didn’t enjoy the class or because he didn’t like the professor, quite the opposite, Politics of the Pacific Rim was one of his favorite courses and the professor was as entertaining as they came.

Unfortunately for him his next professor wasn’t so easy going and was not above closing the doors to the lecture hall so no one could come in late and he only had ten minutes to run across campus for his next class. Not even after Jimin had tried to explain his situation did the professor relent, the professor had simply replied that he had made his bed so now he had to lie in it.

As he power walked through the campus he pulled out his phone and took his lower lip into his mouth, he had five minutes. Why did professors think it was okay to go over their scheduled times? Tucking his phone back into his pocket he shook his head, there was no point in over thinking it, he just had to get to his next class before his professor. Usually most people stayed away when they saw him half sprinting across the lawns, no longer caring about using the side walk, but when a voice called out an “excuse me?” he had no choice but to stop.

A first year, lost on her way to her next class, as a member of the freshman outreach program it was his duty to assist her. “It is just passed the Life Science building, it looks like it could be a part of it, but it’s just a separate lecture hall.” Once he was assured that she knew how to get there, he gave her one of his usual eye smiles and took off once more reaching for his phone. “Two minutes???” he gasped and decided he didn’t care how much attention he attracted and ran.

As soon as he reached the lecture hall he looked around trying to catch his breath, it seemed like the professor was running late too. He sighed in relief and was about to head off toward an empty seat when a voice behind him said “Ah Mr. Park, will you be joining us today or will you just be blocking my entrance?” Jimin could feel his face burning as he turned to look at the professor, giving him a bow the older man laughed and said as he walked passed him “Come, I think I see a seat in the front row. I’m sure you can explain to the class what you thought about the article...Oh and Mr. Park please close the door behind you.”
