We can't believe we're at year ten! Thank you to everyone that has ever participated, even if it's just a like or reblog - it's your engagement that helps make this such a successful event year after year. You rock!

So anyway... we’ve got a prompt a day (and two per Saturday) to inspire your Halloween, autumn, and horror-themed KYLUX and KYLUX-ADJACENT creative works. This is a casual event, so there’s no pressure to post something on the exact day of the prompt, or even to post something every day. Just pick the prompts you like and go for it!

Holy cats, kyluxers and friends, can you believe we're celebrating 10 years of Huxloween!

We are officially open to accept your spookiest, scariest, blood-thirstiest Huxloween prompts yet! Please submit them here on tumblr via our inbox, or you can hit us up on Twitter and Bluesky (there may be a Google Forms at some point; we'll post it if we get it set up).

Your prompts can be as detailed or as simple as you like, but we will be combining similar prompts into one category, so don't fret if you don't see your specific wording on the calendar (for example, if there are prompts for "zombies", "the undead", "the Walking Dead", "zombie apocalypse", you maybe just see the variations represented as "Zombies" on the calendar).

His reflection showed him white skin and blue lips. The thin flesh around his eyes was purple to accompany his bloodshot sclerae. His hair was dark and crusted with sea salt, clumped together all over his forehead. For a moment, he felt like he’d seen this before: a reflection… pain… Ren’s face staring back…

Well, associating Ren with pain wasn’t a surprise.
