mina continuing to write letters to lucy after her passing, telling her everything, no secrets left unsaid and always closing each envelope with a kiss and a single tear
thinking of mina being psychically connected to dracula for nearly a decade while trying to hunt him down and just how much that ate away at her humanity with the horrors he would show her
while this mina is still heavily inspired by the books, this version experienced a different ending. (tw: death, blood, hostage situation.)
at the end of dracula, the team failed to kill him and mina's mind was still psychically connected/tormented by him. she remained in a human/vampire limbo, never fully turning, and helsing doing everything he could to keep her from that cursed fate.
when she found out she was pregnant, her and jonathan both agreed to give their son to the orphanage that raised her in order to keep him safe from dracula.
for seven years the team continued to hunt dracula down using mina's connection. the team slowly dwindled until all that remained were mina, jonathan, and van helsing.
mina was eventually turned by dracula and in her newborn bloodlust she killed her husband and nearly killed van helsing.
van helsing hesitated in killing mina, the woman he now saw as his own daughter, and dracula took that hesitation and killed him.
for the next year, mina was kept hostage in dracula's castle and tormented by him and his brides. though she did manage to befriend one of the brides, which allowed her to escape to the village nearby. she offered the village her help, it takes a monster to kill one, and they could finally be free - they just had to work together.
pitchforks and torches, they attacked during the day, with mina hidden under heavy cloaks. many villagers died, but the spilling of their blood allowed for dracula to finally be killed. (this will obviously be changed for dracula writers etc, but this is her main verse canon)
mina dealt the killing blow in honour of her lost friends and husband.
from then on, mina harker has been a hunter of monsters. she offers a chance at redemption, but if they choose to continue to take innocent lives... she'll put them down.
she's no longer as soft-hearted as she once was. a decade with dracula in her head, knowing the taste of her husband's blood in her mouth... it has chipped parts of her away. her kindness is still there, but it accompanies a coldness and a thirst for blood that she must keep fighting. and she's exhausted.
