Gonna be honest, all these things happening in the fanbase is kinda scary.
I want to take a long break, and to be fair I'm in one of those periods again where my interests are just not in that direction. I am very busy with college and my anxieties aren't putting me in the best conditions either.
I think I want to take a REALLY long break this time. Like maybe a year and a half long break. And that's crazy. I've never been away from the fandom for even a whole year without even getting a peak here and there.

Panda, otherwise known as Jade, is a Spanish-Chinese Tumblr user in the Hetalia and Modaozushi fandom with a history of racism, emotional abuse, and verbal abuse.
This was initially kept quiet due to not wanting to air our private matters, cause harassment towards Panda, or retraumatize themselves by gathering screenshots of triggering conversations. Even as Panda continued to speak negatively about the people in her old friend group, it was kept quiet since it was only in private settings. However, as Panda has now shown herself to (likely) be inciting harassment against a former friend and recruiting minors for her new discord (with the context that she lacks emotional self-control), the writers of this document have decided to step forward to prevent further abuse, to warn people, and to ensure she cannot control the narrative surrounding her former friends.
Although the writers of the document have attempted to put together as many screenshots as they can, not everything has been included due to many of the conversations referencing personal topics, as well as the fact that Panda had deleted the original server she made for her inner circle during a breakdown halfway through the summer, around July 2023.
This document is NOT made with the intention of spreading or inciting harassment towards Panda, we have no intention of smearing her name.

Taiwan stans, give her a personality outside of being a lesbian I beg you, GIVE HER A PERSONALITY OUTSIDE OF BEING A LESBIAN.
If you consider her your fav character, and you are not good with history, that’s okay! But give her quirks and a personality! If history is not your strong, then at least think about her in ways that you would think a human is like, stop making her the object of your wlw ships
She is more than wlw, otaku, fujoshi and stuff, give her character traits that humanise her, I see that a lot of you liked my Taiwan art and I am thankful, thank you for supporting my small account, but please, be careful with tagging and characterising her, I sometimes see Taiwan art being reblogged as just her being defined by her sexuality, and it makes me uncomfortable, I will idpol again, I am East Asian, AFAB and wlw, so I have a right to talk about this, I feel uncomfortable when I see people reducing her as that, especially how some Taiwan stans that claim to want to write her as more complex only makes her a modern bubble tea girl who hates China and loves Vietnam (not knowing the complicated history of SEAsian racism in Taiwan)
Second, the characterisation of Taiwan being only a victim stripping away her agency… I am not saying that Taiwan is not a victim of China and Japan, because Taiwan is a victim of Chinese and Japanese imperialism (Also European imperialism, and Dutch, Spanish and American imperialism…) but the way fans babify Taiwanese history and people is so uncomfortable, while ignoring the issues with Taiwanese discrimination against Chinese mainlanders and seasians, and also the racism in Taiwan, Taiwan is not a bubble tea paradise, if you want to make Taiwan a more historical and cultural accurate character then don’t apply orientalist and animeish qualities in her character, it is uncomfortable, because y’all also dehumanise China in exchange, and are insensitive making China the big evil bad that tbh I am very much against (China nuisance is only for POCs, I see some white Taiwan fans villainising China and tbh don’t)
So please, I am not saying you need to be the most knowledgable person with history, because I am not, I am not asking you to know Taiwanese history or culture completely, I am just asking you that if you characterise her as just the lesbian accessory for white women, then I feel kinda weird, if you are the type of person who gatekeeps Taiwan from ships with Asian men and ship her with white women, I AM SIDE EYEING YOU, and if you are into making Taiwan a more complex character, then do it without reducing her as the perfect victim and also I see many people making her be with white countries making them save Taiwan from China and Japan, which is disgusting.
I should also add, Taiwan´s treatment of aboriginals is absolutely horrible, be wary of the way you portray Taiwan as aboriginal coded because Taiwan is a Han Chinese settler country. If you would find China wearing Miao, Zhuang or Tujia clothes absolutely ingredous, then, why would you make Taiwan wear aboriginal clothes? can you all be more critical of EAsian countries without being also racist orientalist about it? I am saying you need to be more critical of the way South Korea, Taiwan and Japan are, they are not anime, kpop or bubble tea paradises, but I also see people villaining the "good Asian countries" which is a big no.
Taiwan fans, also be careful with how you portray aboriginal Taiwan hcs, because this gets extremely tricky, my own Taiwanese family are KMT settlers.

i think vietnam changed her last name depending on the ruling dynasty like the majority of other vietnamese. but in the modern day, she decided to choose her own surname without that influence. in my headcanon i think she chose triệu for her as a way to honor lady triệu and to symbolize vietnam’s fighting spirit.

- china likes her because she’s the only one who really stands up to him and bc he likes people who are hard to get
- even though vietnam can’t stand him i think she’s gone to him at times when she was at her lowest, it mostly ended up in arguments though
- vietnam would never admit she has any sort of lingering feelings towards him, she represses any romantic feelings she has
- they know they can’t rely or trust the other but because they’ve known eachother for so long they have a mutual understanding of one another.
- they argue about who’s older and the honorifics the other one should use
- when she lived with him, she definitely tried to kill him when he was sleeping or by poisoning and probably hundreds of more methods but it doesn’t work because of nation typical immortality
- china at first really underestimated vietnam’s strength, bc of cultural confucianism and what not based on her gender, but he began to respect her after she would not back down from fights and the times she kicked his ass and he likes strong no bullshit women
I also like to think Prussia personally visited Vietnam and helped her set up the equipment to make coffee. After German Unification, Vietnam kind of frets about who exactly she’s suppose to pay the bill to and it eventually leads to Prussia getting a special discount from her.

In tradition of not giving her a real name I suggest: Nguyễn Trung Quốc
Nguyễn -> Most common Vietnamese surname
Trưng -> A tribute to the Trung sisters who lead the first rebellion against China
Quốc -> Countryman
A quirk with Vietnamese names it’s common to be written with surname, middle name, given name in that order. Typically when addressing them you don’t refer to them by surname (like with high profile people or people you’re not acquainted with).
Also, let’s be real, If I was talking about Nguyễn, we’re going to have 0 clue who I’m referring to because that’s probably like half the damn room.
You’d address them by their given name, in this case Quốc.
In cases where people share the same name it’s common to refer to both their Middle and Given name: Trung-Quốc.
What I’m trying to get at it’s can be very easily misheard as ‘Trung Quốc’. Translation: China. (Because this seems to happen a lot, also China for 4000+ odd some years thinks Vietnam is theirs but anyway….)
I’ve actually moved passed from naming Vietnam “Nguyễn Trưng Quốc” partially due to recent tensions between China and Vietnam. On top of that I’ve mostly settled on a better name (Vũ Kim Mai), but I do largely think there’s something to be said about Vietnam and China being very similar in design on first glance (the major distinction I can see between the two is that China’s center bangs are slicked back)
But I feel like with Vietnamese names, there is something to be said about giving her a meaningful name since it’s a common practice.

- vietnam understands chinese from when most texts and literature was written in chữ nôm. however the way she speaks is very formal and is archaic because it’s classical / literary chinese she knows
- she absolutely hated being involved with the royal court, she dislikes the drama and culture of nobility
- she detests womanizers, especially with being around emperors with huge harems of concubines and it was known to most people in the court she would not accept anyone trying to turn her into a concubine or wife.
- she prefers a more simple farmer life, she enjoys doing manual work the most and getting down and dirty
- even when vietnam became a more patriarchal society, nobody ever tried to challenge her on what she couldn’t do because of her nation typical super strength anyone who did would get their ass beat
- historians have gone to her for centuries to ask about what she remembers from the hồng bàng dynasty but her memories are really blurry so she isn’t able to give accurate accounts, which caused much debates and arguments of how old vietnam is as an nation.
i think it’s very very interesting for vietnam to be only of the only female nation-tans in southeast asia and in asia overall other than taiwan (if we are only going off by canon.) i want to say her original characterization in aph of coldness is what she had to do to be taken seriously, she never showed emotion and repressed everything in battles and fights. i feel like she felt like an outsider when it came to her gender, never being able to connect with other women or men.
After I read about your posts on Vietnam being kind of an outsider for being a lone woman and that her nation herself is patriarchal, I got curious and searched up the Asian gender equality index.

I think most of the asean guys at least in the modern day respect her a lot! piri teases and and playfully flirts with her but he does that with everyone so i don’t think she would feel like she’s being picked on specifically. i think he really does make an effort to be friends with her and even if he has a tiny crush on her he is okay with being just friends, but eventually vivi would fall for him too. I think he would respect her boundaries and the person she is a lot.
i’ve only seen this a few times but champa was its own sovereign state and had a culture separate from vietnam. it’s inaccurate to depict hws vietnam as champa in precolonial times because vietnam started in the north as đại việt, and inappropriate due to the forced assimilation of cham people and the continued discrimination the minority group faces in the modern day.
