Ryan Webs  + Scott Blackwood → Moodboard (feat. @scott-blackwood)
worst-case scenario || ryan & sav
Savannah nodded her head, taking in Ryan’s words like oxygen and trying to buy herself some time to think of something meaningful to say. Of course now, of all the times in the world, Savannah’s chattering mind was suddenly silent. She didn’t let it show, however, as she still gave Ryan just as big of a smile as ever. Encouraging–because they both needed it right now. “Well,” Savannah murmured. “It’s a good thing you’re heading to the bathroom then, yes?” She asked with a small chuckle before shooing Ryan away.
Once Ryan went away into the bathroom, Savannah began to pace the floor. Her face fell into the tight-lipped frown she’d been holding back for appearance. She felt like she should be an expert at this by now–it wasn’t like it was the first time she’d been connected to a pregnancy scare. It just wasn’t her having the scares anymore. At this point, Savannah wasn’t sure which was more nerve-wracking.
Savannah nodded her head slowly when Ryan came back. What could she do to keep their heads busy? What did Savannah do when she had a bad day? She started to smile a little before trotting toward the music system. She plugged her phone in and started her Sunshine playlist–filled with all the music she remembered from being young and being in love and being happy. Of course a Selena song started. “C’mon mija,” Savannah laughed, waving Ryan over. She stuck her hands out to receive her with a smile. “Bidi, bidi, bom bom! Bidi, bidi, bidi!” Savannah half-sang, half-shouted the words back at Ryan as she bounced them around.
The few moments of silence allowed Ryans mind to wander. Now that she clearly knew what her feelings were about it (terrified, anxious, etc) that only left everyone else. Thinking about Sams reaction caused a whole new wave of anxiety to wash over her. It took forefront in her mind and she felt herself hoping even harder for the test to come back negative if only to avoid his reaction. Suddenly, she thought back to Connor and Nathan. Back to not being stable enough and nurturing enough. Back to endless days of just not being enough. Thinking about experiencing that kind of pain again left her feeling scared and vulnerable.
And what would—did Savannah really think? And what would she think if it came back positive? What would Ryan even think then? It was no use wondering herself mad, not when the results were only minutes away. Minutes that began to feel like hours. Thankfully Savannah made her way across the room, grabbing Ryans attention as she mindlessly followed after her. Music filled her living room, making her jump a bit. It pulled her back into real time. She stared for a moment at Savannahs phone as she listened to the song, remembering that life was still happening around her and the world hadn’t actually went up in flames because she missed her period. Ryan reached for Savannah, giving her a watery smile. She let herself be spun around with Sav, shouting the words with her as she thought back to hundreds of other moments they’d done this in happier times. It was comforting, to do something familiar with her best friend.

“I was just at work,” Savannah said with a quick shake of her head. “That’s why I kept taking so long to answer you–sorry about that,” She added. Worry lines started to show on Savannah’s forehead as she listened to Ryan ramble and then jump up off the couch. It didn’t take much to confuse Savannah, but Ryan’s half-finished thoughts and vague words left Savannah wondering if she’d ever even learned English to begin with.
It wasn’t a long walk from late that brought the clarity to Savannah. Of course she was shocked about it, late was only a step away from pregnant and these were her two very best friends in question here. The only thing she could think of was the last time this sort of news had been sprung on her with Rose and–Dios mio, I’m not ready to be a tĂa– but this wasn’t about her. This was about Ryan, who Savannah was now standing next to. When did I even get up?Â
“Ryan,” Savannah said, her voice calm as she reached for Ryan’s hand. “Mira,” She added with a little more force. “It’s okay. We don’t know anything yet. Don’t start freaking out about it yet. That’s not going to help you any,” It was then that Savannah gave Ryan a tight hug, deciding that if it helped her feel any better than it was worth it. “But you should probably go take the test now, because we’ve got to figure out what comes next. For whatever result,” She decided. “And any answer is better than waiting around like this. I’ll be here with you the whole time.”
Savannahs voice was calming and brought her back down to the ground a bit. Her mind had only just started to go crazy with what ifs. It wasn’t often Ryan confronted problems head-on and when she did it tended to backfire on her. Which is why sweeping a problem under the rug had become her forte over the years. However this...situation was a little more difficult to ignore. The thought that this whole thing would quite literally only grow bigger and bigger over time made her feel sick. “I feel ill.” She said aloud, or, at least she thought she’d said it out loud. It was difficult to hear anything when her heart seemed to be beating so loudly.
She didn’t know what she’d been doing before, probably staring off in a daze but she focused back on Savannah and nodded with as much determination as she could muster. Once she was pulled in for a hug her rigid posture slipped away. She wasn’t in this alone. That thought was one of the only things that truly comforted her. “Thank you.” Ryan said quietly, looking back at Savannah. She felt as if she might cry but she was sure her eyes hadn’t started to tear up yet, there wasn’t a need for that. Not yet anyway. “Okay, alright, bloody hell.” Ryan breathed out as she tried to get it together enough to make her way to the bathroom.Â
She gave one last look at Savannah in the living room before she went into the bathroom. It was best to go about the steps in a methodical manner, not thinking much deeper than: open box, sit down, pee. After, she placed the stick carefully on the sink counter and opened the door. “So, it’s five to ten minutes. What do we do for five to ten minutes?” She asked helplessly.Â
How do you feel about Scott finally hooking up with Eleanor?
