We have made a test to clarify the quality of our UHPC in terms of thermal shock resistance. We cast several UHPC plates and after 48 hours we put them in liquid nitrogen (-180 C or -292 F) until they reached the temperature of the liquid nitrogen. We took them out and checked for cracks - no cracks found. After the short evaluation, the plates headed with a burner from -180 C to +200 C or 392 F within 7 minutes. We have a current student project „very simple, sustainable building with resistant to all environmental influences using local materials on the African continent. A group of students has worked with our UHPC desert sand concrete and has enlarged a very well known play stones for children worldwide. The magnification was only possible with UHPC, several attempts with standard concrete failed among other thinks because it was about simplicity and thus could be used with no additives. UHPC has many advantages over the standard building materials used worldwide but two are particularly important. UHPC is an ingenious adhesive and UHPC can develop extreme strength. Refurbishment of an old concrete are in a steelworks used to park some 200 ton heavy and still hot ladles. The old floor was cleaned, a special stainless steel reinforcement anchored and casted with 5 inch UHPC TopLayer. When working with art students, new ideas come out. We have cast very hard UHPC plates and then cut out gears for a yet to be built gearbox with water jet. Because we were there, we want to know how thin we can cut. The spiral on the picture has a wall thickness of 3 mm. In cooperation with art and design students, we tried to find out what is possible with UHPC binder. UHPC binder consists to a large extent of nanoparticles that are finer than color pigments, so you should be able to paint with them similar to oil paints.The fineness also allows us to produce the consistency of clay, loam and plaster. Also, it should be possible to spray the UHPC in thin layers. The young artists were enthusiastic about the possibilities. We have supplied a pipeline lined with UHPC wear protection for a hydraulic transport line in a salt mine. The pipeline was installed at a depth of 700 meter. The salt mine has tunnels with a total length of 110km.
