I started writing a new Jasper centered Hensper fic is out now both in Wattpad and AO3 titled 'The Secret' under the username: BleedingTrash (aka my main).

Summary:

Jasper wishes he has more to offer the team. He's too stupid to help with smart projects like Charlotte and Schwoz, and he’s not a hero material like Ray and Henry.

Jasper's wishes he could be out there saving lives, too, but he's okay with helping anyway he can. Which usually means he's appointed any grunt job nobody else wants to do.

Like being an unwilling and unknowing test subject for Schwoz's inventions. The newest one being the truthblaster, compelling him to answer their questions truthfully.

Unfortunately for Jasper, he's got a huge potentially friendship ending secret. He's in love with his straight best friend.

Henry, until this moment, had never even considered looking at Jasper as anything other than platonic.

Sure, it's obvious to anyone with eyes and common sense that Jasper is attractive. Henry’s not blind to it. He just doesn’t have an opinion on the matter... or at least he didn't.

Chapter 14 of 'The Secret' is out and here's an excerpt:

It was a relatively simple mission, some irresponsible emo left their straighter on and accidentally sent their apartment complex ablaze. Captain Man and Kid Danger saved all the people inside, a dog, a hamster, four cats and even the beloved goldfish of a frat boy but that didn't stop the flames from consuming everything else.

Yet, there's nothing more they can do, it's up to the incompetent fire department to put it out. So, Henry stands there in uniform, fishbowl in hand as he watches the fire burn.

On one side of him is a group of devastated residents watching the destruction of their home and on the other is Ray making smores but Henry can't bring himself to pay attention to either.

Instead he's too busy envying the flames, the ash, the wind, the burn. He envies it all. The fire doesn't care who it hurts, so why does he? It would be easier to just walk back in and melt away. At least then his social life wouldn't be the only thing incinerating.

I think its both self projection and jealousy.

Firstly, I believe he's jealous that Henry chose Jasper over him in the 'I know your secret' episode. Its a betrayal to Ray in away, Henry was willing to drop being Kid Danger and subsequently his connection to him for Jasper. So, he punishes Jasper for his own insecurity.

Secondly, to paraphrase one of my older post. I think Jasper and Ray mirror eachother in many ways, which is why Ray irritated by Jasper since he reminds him of himself.

Like Ray, dispite being a narcissist is established as insecure with a really low self esteem, and constantly needs validation approval from his peers.

So, when Jasper comes up to him seeking that same despreation for validation, he projects his self hatred towards him instead of dealing with his own issues.
