The owl had just appeared in my house one day. I had intended to call animal control, but a look in those adorable eyes made me decide it would be a shame to lock him away. The weeks following were wonderful. I converted my bed into a sleeping area for him and released hundreds of mice into the house for him to hunt.

He often watches me as I draw. My art has changed recently and is much more owl centric, almost as though I was starting to draw what the owl wanted. But I look into those adorable eyes and realize that's silly, the owl just wants what's best for me.

It was supposed to be a simple one night stand. Carol just needed to relieve the tension every now and then and would go to some bar and find someone to spend the night with. Then she'd leave a fake number, leave early so she could make it to work and never see the man again.

Last night had been one of the best she'd ever had, but didn't change her plans. The man, she don't think she ever learned his name, had had to leave early too and just told her to lock up if she decided to leave. She'd thought it was odd phrasing, she had told him she had work, but had figured it was nothing.

She'd been dressed and ready to go when she noticed the man's shirt from last night was still crumpled up on the bedroom floor. He hadn't taken the shirt off during most of the evening and it must have been covered in his scent. For some reason that thought made her shiver and she'd picked it up, giving a tenative sniff.

That had been three hours ago. She was very late for work, but that was the furthest thing from her mind. All that mattered was edging to the man's amazing scent, hoping with all her might that he would fuck her again when he got home.
