My Chem songs to learn for beginner-intermediate guitarists
You need to be able to play power chords including the octave as well as the fifth note and palm mute comfortably. It is a little fast but all of Frank Iero's part is power chords. Ray Toro's parts in the verses are a lot harder. His solo isn't crazy technical though; just fast!
Man, that bridge is fun to play. All mcr songs are a little on the faster side. There are some fun dead notes in this one and chords high up the fret board. This song does require switching cleanly between playing different strings which can mean left hand and right hand muting.
3) Skylines and turnstiles
Make sure you're comfortable switching between palm muting and not palm muting. I personally struggle with the intro without some sort of backing track/metronome because it speeds up and i spent a long time training my brain not to do that.
Reminder that you can always mix up guitar parts or simplify them. That being said, don't be afraid to leave your comfort zone and attempt something a little more challenging than usual -- that's how you make progress! It doesn't have to sound good on your first try or even your tenth.
