Any time they’re on the couch it happens where Steve ends up with an arm slung around Eddie, thumb rubbing circles on his shoulder. If Eddie shifts to grab chips, Steve’s arm just follows him without Steve even noticing. He’s basically anchoring Eddie to him during the whole Star Wars marathon. It’s not even on purpose. It’s just Eddie’s warm and Eddie’s there.

Dustin notices in hour two of Empire. “Ugh, you guys are gross,” he says, but he’s grinning. “Get a room.”

And Steve goes red instantly. Drops his arm like Eddie burned him. Sits up straight like he got caught doing something wrong. His immediate thought was they were being that couple. The clingy, oblivious, gross couple.

“Shut up, Henderson,” Eddie says, laughing. Then he turns, grabs Steve’s hand before it can retreat to Steve’s own lap, and laces their fingers together and tugs it to his chest. Kisses Steve’s knuckles, slow and deliberate, eyes locked on Dustin the whole time.

“Don’t mind us,” Eddie tells the room. “Harrington’s just making sure I don’t float away.”

Steve’s face is on fire. But Eddie’s holding his hand to his heart, and his thumb’s doing that same little circle thing Steve was doing to him.

And yeah maybe he is clingy but Eddie doesn’t seem to mind.

Steve says stuff like “slow and steady wins the race” when Eddie’s rushing through tuning his guitar, also says stuff like “early bird gets the worm” in the morning while shoving coffee at a half asleep Eddie before band practice.

Eddie should find it painfully dorky. Instead he has to hide his face because Steve in sweatpants, dead serious about worms and races, is somehow the hottest thing he’s ever seen. He’d never admit it.

gracerocky/grockdrian where instead of adrian getting jealous of grace, it's grace getting jealous of adrian. after all, he's in a faraway planet surrounded by aliens, in an environment built to kill him.

grace doesn't have anything that's actually his, aside from rocky

human life is such a fleeting, fragile thing. it would be so easy for anyone or anything to break him, even unintentionally. the rest of his life will come and go in the blink of an eye. rocky may not be able to forget him, no, but grace is such a short part of his long lifespan.

grace holds rocky close because he's all he has. he's light years away from earth, he's walking through a crude imitation of his home beaches, and he clings desperately to familiarity—that being this visceral, festering love. it feels like the sole remnant of his humanity.

whenever adrian is around, grace has to bite his tongue. "you've had 186 earth years with him," he thinks. "you've had him for two of my lifespans and will have him for three more after i die."

"let me have him in this one," grace wishes he could say.

established steddie + werewolf eddie and he assumes steve has just Figured It Out at some point (maybe he saw the claw marks in eddie's room, or the chains in his closet, or noticed the way eddie is never free on full moons) because steve scents him all. the. time. there's no way a normal human would ever spend this much time shoving his face into eddie's neck if he didn't know about werewolves

(spoiler: steve has no idea. he just likes the way eddie smells. he assumed those scratches and chains were from some crazy kinky sex and he's still waiting for eddie to get comfortable enough to ask him for that)

Eddie runs toward danger because he figures he’s already dead. Steve throws himself in front of danger for the same reason. They keep saving each other and hating that the other would die for them. “You don’t get to leave me first.”

Except — when he ages, Steve’s face wrinkles where he smiles, and laughs.

and Steve's like

"No, we weren't a tissue match… it's this thing called a kidney donation chain? Nancy looked into it for me? Basically I gave a kidney to some stranger, so that a different stranger would give their kidney to you."

Steve and Eddie can’t agree on anything for the apartment. Steve’s hunting for “practical stuff” at a yard sale like crockpots, tool kits or a decent vacuum. Eddie’s after “good vibes for the place” finding things like a lava lamp, a Garfield phone. They come home bickering about the decor.

Steve thinks the lava lamp is a fire hazard. And Eddie thinks the crockpot is useless.

Then Steve finds Eddie passed out on the couch, Garfield phone cradled in his hands, lava lamp glowing pink across his face. And Steve doesn’t say anything. Just plugs in the crockpot, sets the Garfield phone on the side table, and smiles kissing Eddie’s head.
